Two things may block a "rematch clause."

1. Does a MITB loss nullify it?

But remember when Edge cashed in his first MITB and beat Cena, Cena got a re-match a few weeks later at the Royal Rumble

2. Edge is SD, but lost to a special type of situation. He'd forfeit the rematch.

Hmm, I could see them doing something like this but saying that since he lost his title the way he did, and can not challenge for a RAW title that instead he could cash in his rematch clause to become the #1 contender to Triple H's WWE title on SD!
