One innate ability of mine is to waste significant amounts of time, deep within the bowels of the Internet, in one sitting. During my travels of the world wide web, there have been plenty of items I've uncovered that are intriguing as hell. I take comfort in procrastinating as much as the next college kid with a midnight deadline for homework and would like to create a channel to accommodate the lifestyle, seeing as how it also follows nearly all of us into our eventual workplace.

A lot of the things that are more timely or relevant in general find their own threads for deeper discussion on the forum, however there's a lot of shit that you guys find that are worth a look, not an entire thread, and we can accumulate these items here.

Good shit here about the culture and myths of Haiti, one of which involves a drug combination that literally creates a zombie-like state of mind. A chemist and journalist from Vice traveled to the country and investigated the claim.

Shows how wrapped up that people & the media gets without having the facts straight. Sure the Russian drug was fucking people up, but the smallest sign of similar symptoms happen here and people start freaking out. Addicts will do crazy shit to get high, but the author of this article makes a point. Why would you knowingly take something like that when your preferred drug is available?


Either way being an addict is bad news, but going to the length of injecting something like that just shows how far off these people are.

From what I've heard is it literally will kill you within 4-6 weeks. However, what I think is happening is Krokodil is being laced into the addicts preferred drug such as heroin and molly. This would make much more sense seeing as how I don't know what would cause a person to need a fix bad enough to injest something so fatal and horrifying.

Edit: scanned the article and it makes a lot of sense. I can relate to the craze and tall-tales, being 19: kids act like they know everything and can confirm stories themselves. Usually greatly overreacting and exagerating the simplest of events.
