IMPACT Wrestling LD for 06.07.12

One thing that has always irked me about wrestling is that no matter how much in advance a match is made before a PPV, they always have to have the contract signing the week before.

Bully Ray is one of my favorite things currently about wrestling in-total. Dude is fucking killer. Sometimes I forget he was Bubba Ray.

okay this has always bugged me but seriously what the hell is up with tna fans giving heels a thumbs down? that is the stupidest thing ever.

That wasn't your argument. That was something you made up once I posted date to prove that your argument was based on fabrications.

"Hay; let's make our PPV's cost much more to produce. That'll make them more profitable."

TNA already did PPV's on the road for a prolonged period, it didn't make them any more profitable; it just made them cost a fuckton more to produce. There is a reason TNA stay in Orlando, it's because your idea has been proven to not work.

Never go into business.

"You should take the focus off what is making you all your money and move in onto something that is making you no money."

"Why?"

"It'll make you more money in the long run."

"How."

"I have absolutely no idea."

Well that's lovely. The difference is, the argument that TNA should prioritise television has financial and historical imperative to back it up; whilst the argument that they should focus on a PPV model (whch they have done several times before, and failed to make money from) is backed up by nothing but your own baseless conjecture.

Not that this in any way matters. As I tried to point out before, I was not calling you out for being shit at buisiness; I was calling you out for being a twat. Making up information, misquoting data you hadn't actually read and then accusing someone else of posting just to make themselves look smart. It was hypocritical idiocy and nothing more.

Instead of being belittling and intentionally "twat-ish" to steal your term, I'll simply respond by saying this: TNA hasn't reported anything financial EVER. The only proof of anything we have is that one time Jeff Jarrett said they are profitable. Now, that could mean millions or it could mean they make a few dollars each year which technically is profitable. That's not info we are privy to. However, I do believe it would be info we'd be privy to if they had an incredible quarter or year. Companies like to brag about success so if they were having great financial success, I'd think you'd hear about it.

Point being, their model might make them slightly profitable or greatly profitable, but smart money is on slightly. If you are content making a little bit of money, that's fine. If you are in business, you'd likely want to make the most money possible, no? With that in mind, you have to take some short term risks for long term reward. WWE started with Wrestlemania which was a gamble. It cost a lot to get the celebrities, book the arena, build the set, etc. That could have backfired because there was no precedent to this sort of thing being great for business. It worked though and PPVs went from 1 to 2 to 4 to eventually 12-14 per year. That wouldn't have happened without calculated risks.

In our case, TNA already has these shows but they aren't doing well. Now, you could blame it on the model but another company has that model and makes significant money in that model. If that's true, then you'd think the model isn't the problem, it's something with TNA. I don't feel like getting into all the issues TNA has with building to PPVs and the like but I do know that if you make something seem important, people buy it as important. That's the major thing that would need to be done to revive (or grow in the first place) TNA's PPV business. If they want to go to 6 shows then fine. Make them feel important and have important things happen at them. Even if the first one doesn't sell greatly, people will quickly realize "hey, shit happens here so I better buy the next one or fear missing out". That's how it gets built.

Let's end it here because it's tiring and this wasn't meant for you. I know you can put together a good argument and that you and I can go back and forth quite well. However, the name-calling thing was a little ridiculous and I don't know why so many on these forums do that. To each their own I guess.

Can someone quickly bring me up to speed? Who's this guy that's fighting Bubba and why is this match happening?

All I'm saying is that you threw out a cliched line which is nothing new for you, in an attempt to sound smart.

:lmao:

I've been pretty bored with TNA lately, but this has me legitimately intrigued.

And just as I say that, it's D-Von vs. Robbie. AGAIN.
