Impact Wrestling Fantasy Game

I think that for most people who use this website or other spoiler sites it is pointless what fun is a fantasy league if you can plan every move knowing everything happening in TNA (excluding PPV's) for three weeks at a time. I'd do it but I just don't find it fair to people who may not know spoilers. Also like said where's the fun if you know exactly what moves to make with your roster a month in advance unlike football or baseball where everything that happens is spontaneous.

I was really eager to sign up and play, but by the looks of it I can't because I don't live in America. Thanks for getting my hopes up and dashing them TNA.

Doesn't work for scripted content, and especially doesn't work when you can tell the future.

They must have some way of accounting for the spoiler issue. They know their taped show results are on the net so there's no way they're doing this without having countered that somehow. I haven't read the rules yet but I can't fathom they'd be that stupid. Then again...

[Imagining Dixie Carter hearing about fantasy football from her husband and coming up with this idea on her own.]

Hmmm, maybe it will be stupid.

That said, I may still do it just for shits and giggles. I'm going to need something to fill the fantasy void in my life because of the NFL lockout. If nothing else, I'd love to participate in a live draft so I can use my last pick on Murphy and get a laugh from everyone.

It seems as if they're only doing it for the PPVs so that should work out fine, although that jus means it'll take longer between "plays", also having a free and a pay is ridiculous, especially at this point, they really should have waited for a few things before they had a pay option. Also the thing isn't laid out too well, but I went ahead and joined free, maybe it'll actually be fun :: shrug ::

The way it works is this.

It is a live ongoing fantasy game. They lock your roster moves, just like in fantasy baseball were you can't make roster changes. So there are roster looks on Monday and Tuesday right before the taping and you can move anyone in and out until both shows are complete.

You can read the rules when you visit the link and it explains this and a lot more.

the first thing I thought of when I heard they were going to be doing it was about the spoilers and those who read spoilers would know what happens before Impact Wrestling airs on TV, so it would be flawed. however as the last post said, the rosters are locked prior to tapings. so you will not be able to edit your rosters after Impact Wrestling has been taped.
you can play for free in a public league against all other users.

Details on our genius fantasy wrestling scoring system.

Get Hooked
Seasons are three months long, but this game is built for you to continue playing. Impact Wrestling doesn’t stop, and neither should you. Continue your leagues throughout the year by selecting our “dynasty” option and stay with us to earn the distinction of being the Impact Wrestling Fantasy Game Lifetime Leader board champion. Quite simply – the owner with the MOST POINTS AT THE END OF A SEASON, from both private wrestler rosters + PPV Pick `Em WINS their league.

if this gets more interest for TNA and Impact Wrestling then it can only be a good thing. I don't know, but I don't think WWE does anything like this, right?
this is something different from WWE, putting it out there for wrestling fans.
I would love to see TNA get some really good praise for this.

I might start but most of the time I lose interest in these things after a few months. Happens every year with football. Though I wish there was some kind of prize. I didn't see anything about winning. I know when WWE tried doing this the first place person at least got a replica belt or something.

I read the article about this earlier but didn't quite get it. It sounds a bit like a prediction league but I thought it would be about booking your own fantasy TNA shows?

Judging by a couple of the other posts, I don't think I can even give it go anyway as I'm not in the States.

Monthly PPV Pick `Em Game
One last way of earning points is by filling out predictions for our monthly PPV line-up card.

Additional points are earned by successfully selecting the following outcomes of PPV Pick `Em …

SINGLES MATCHES
A vs B

Winner: Select A or B (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50)
Winner + Ending: Select pinfall (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50), submission (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50), count-out/DQ (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50)

(Any other type of ending would result in no points awarded)

TAG MATCHES
A,B vs C,D

Winning team: Select winning team AB or CD (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50)
Winner + Ending: Select pinfall (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50), submission (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50), count-out/DQ (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50)
Winner: Select the person who gets the pinfall or submission A,B,C,or D (Commissioner can set point total from range 1-50)

Repeat a similar pattern for all types of matches.

Default scoring system will lean towards the high end of all above ranges, and DOUBLE all point totals for ALL TITLE MATCHES.

All owners will enter only ONE PPV Pick `Em each month that will be counted towards their Public League point total and their Private League point total.

Sounds interesting but I am not signing up for a recurring charge that you can "cancel" for something like this. I will sit out the trial and once they release the free game with no strings attached I will probably check it out. It would be fun to put together a wrestlezone league at that point though. It makes a good put your money where your mouth is for people that complain about predictability.

TNA is finally starting to show strokes of innovation. This is a brilliant idea.

First, it's pretty much free money. You pay for web hosting (and the bandwidth imprint doesn't appear to be that large), and for your web division to keep it updated. There is no large scale investment going on for this that I can see.

Second, it's a great way to get people more invested in the product. Casual viewers who watch occasionally will be drawn to watch the show more often if they've got something (even if it isn't something real) on the line. This works exactly like fantasy baseball/football, except TNA's going to strongly support it instead of initially trying to squash it like the sports leagues did.

It's win all around here.

Too bad i live in Canada, i would love something like this.:disappointed: Anyways as stated by others, its a good idea to get people to watch the TNA product.

I never really looked at how deep the scoring was. it looks kind of complicated.
I wonder why they have it only available in the USA.
