HHH Taking Over For Vince McMahon - KEEP IT ALL IN HERE!

Does this mean that (kayfabe) John Cena is more important than Vince McMahon?

The Board of Directors have basically stood down their Chairman because he was going to fire Cena, so it was one or the other... I wonder if next week they capitalise on that? Also was HHH the Anon GM the whole time then as the Board chose HHH to be a person of authority meaning he may have been in a similiar position already?

There are a lot of ways this can go.

I will say that I thought it was a missed opportunity to not have the very cocky and arrogant new WHC Christian make an appearance on Raw and talk about how he is the only major title holder in the company.

Also needed more CM Punk references!!!

I guess I'm in the minority here.

I honestly believe Vince has decided in real life to step away. This was his way of doing so. He let a storyline take him out of the picture instead of announcing some kinda retirement.

This was his way of letting us know that HHH would be running the show.

what a waste though - used up 2 storylines in one show and it wasn't even a 3 hour show. why not have the matches for the next few weeks with more people involved and have the championship match at the next ppv? if the title is that important, shouldn't everyone want to be in the match? always amazes me how the same superstars get title shots or are in the title picture yet the other guys in the back don't complain (from a story line perspective). if you were a ryder or kane and you were not given a shot time after time, wouldn't you freak out? this would have been the chance to give these guys some time on tv and remind everyone why the title is important - it is the ultimate goal of every superstar on RAW. we know either miz or mysterio is going to be the champ - the blew a month long program in one night.

with the whole triple H thing, what warrented vince being "fired"? because he told cena win or you're fired? bit of a stretch but say he fired cena, then over the next few weeks acted more crazy - firing people at random, weird matches, etc. the triple h thing would have worked better then since it was a bunch of things, not just one. all in all, it came across as a bit weak and rushed. they could have easily made this the july/august storyline instead of the july 18 storyline but then again, that is what they do now - rush storylines so they fail and don't grab attention. i am actually amazed they let punk win - i was waiting for the dumb finish where he loses in his hometown.

If we convince Punk to come back that's just a waste of time of a good angle. UNLESS...He brings CM Punk back as the Anonymous GM, But even if RAW gets better, Smackdown is once again left out in the dust.

No, I believe it;s been stated before in interviews that HHH won't become Owner until Vince dies, or retires. So far from what I've read this seems to be purely kayfabe.

New Generation Era? with no WCW to watch? I came back too soon. I was digging Cena's promo, including that veiled reference. I see the game has calmed down some, I was totally ready to mark out if he told VKM 'you're fired' even if it was delivered softly.

Afterall, hasn't VKM been the Heel to the Babyface universe, and we still don't have the satisfaction of the feud ending. But still a great direction to go in, hope this fuels a regular dose of compelling entertainment. They have got me hooked pretty good right now, might even tune into that other show they have this week

There is one complaint I sort of have about all this. It's once again all about the McMahons...

Ten years ago, when WCW, ECW and WWF were fighting it really just was a showcase about the McMahon's. Shane bought WCW, Steph bought ECW and it was just an inter family feud instead of a feud between the top companies in industry. The dream matches and situation sort of all fell flat because it was made up of this family feud.

Fast forward to today, and you've got CM Punk taking the WWE title hostage and doing what Bret Hart couldn't and creating the hottest talking points the WWE has seen in years and it gets turned into a McMahon thing once again...

Now this could be a great angle, however the Invasion angle absolutely fell flat, I hope this one doesn't.

Well we all know about this year's Summer of Punk and what just happened on Tonight's Monday Night RAW, Not only was Vincent K. McMahon relieved of his duties as Chairman of CEO, but Triple H stepped up to the position and with his wife being The Head of Creative and Booking, things are happening. What I want to know is this kayfabe, or real life? And please provide a substansial argument with evidence if possible.

There will be no Vince/HHH power-struggle. (Storyline Wise) HHH has taken control of the WWE, leaving Vince with utterly no power, The Board of The Directors and The Family all have sided against Vince, He has no power. Therefore no struggle.

You are posting like this is real.

Vince can come back in a number of ways without being in control of the company.

Am i the only one who was dissapointed that the Punk angle was non existent?

I mean..i hope they dont keep him away more than a few weeks as he has momentum...i feel like he may have agreed to a contract but will be gone while(like Madden mentions in his article).

I certainly hope not

Vince won't be back after the match vs Bret he retired his evil Vince persona and he has for the most part stayed off TV. My guess is this is a way to write him off TV full time, save the occasional one time appearance, and to begin to groom Hunter for the job he will have one day. Also it was a very good smooth way to do it. It showed Hunter had respect for Vince but knew what he needed to do and Vince was upset but accepted it was for the best after all and he got a big "Thank You Vince" chant for a send off. No bad blood, no more evil Vince just a clean transition of power.

Also I'm gonna say it here because he really does deserve it and I don't care that he still owns and runs the company as CEO out of storyline,

Thank you Vincent Kennedy McMahon for all of the classic television moments you have provided over the years.

Well if history is reliving itself then the PG Era was the Golden Age Era and now the HHH is New Generation, But even during the New Generation Era, WCW was still becoming big, It wasn't until the Attitude Era, which was the late nineties that things started happening.

Actually this all makes sense for a new 'invasion' storyline. It's probably not going to happen, but then again NO BODY expected the original one to ever happen.

Here's how it could play out. Vince finds Punk in ROH or something and then finally teams up with Punk and a few of his ROH buddies to goto Raw and take on 'The Board'. It'll be Vince Vs. Shane all over again, except this time he'll be fighting his 'doofus' son-in-law.

This is a long shot, as everyone knows that Vince enjoys crushing the competition rather then doing it favours. Plus, it's highly unlikely that ROH would sell their product to WWE... I mean, ROH is small, but it's not as if it's struggling or anything. We'll just have to wait and see what happens I guess!

I am a little surprised with the way things went down tonight. I was never expecting to hear "The Game"'s music hit. To be honest, I was expecting CM Punk to randomly show, although the photos at the baseball game kind of killed that thought. When I knew he wasn't there, I actually expected to see The Rock come out and cut a Cena-esque promo begging Vince not to fire Cena because it would make 'Mania pointless. The Triple H swerve was very surprising and leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Which is definitely a good thing for WWE.

On a side note, the acting was really good, but did anyone else just straight up laugh when Triple H said, "I'm sorry, I love you pops?" That just sounded weird to me.

I'm excited to see this. Maybe this will kill the "Anonymous Raw General Manager" role. We don't need to know who it was, just kill it and move on.

I doubt the product will change much. It's just a TV change with a few new storylines. The rest will play out the same.

p.s. I thought that was a good ending! I was sad when I saw Vince cry.

Not really weird, Triple H in real life has seen Vinny Mac as a father to him, Not only is he HHH's father-in-law but he's the same man that taught him the ropes of this business, Hell HHH was one of the guys Vince was aiming to push in the 90s. (Before the Attitude Era)

I marked too when HHH came out...... That feeling went away with the kiss ass "I love you pops!!" line. That was fucking pathetic.

But i think that its good that Trips is taking over. Cause Vince lost his touch about 5 years ago. Good riddance Vince!

Btw a part of me thinks that this whole night was dedicated to burying CM Punks momentum. And dont count the "Hey thanks for the good match" from the posterboy.

I dont know if I would've lol'd or cried with Vince if this wasnt scripted...

I guess this gives WWE an excuse to change the landscape of their company. Triple H has already had his test runs running house shows and episodes of RAW (I think) and it looks like this transition might have been made to familiarize Triple H as the figurehead of the WWE with the casual fans. Its a shame neither man could actually shed some good tears to make it look realistic. but I think this change is more than just TV wise. Lets hope Vince starts opening up to Triple H's ideas (hopefully the Sin Cara incident doesnt affect his position) because we could very well be looking at the return of an edgier, more dramatic, more exciting WWE. Triple H has always been synonymous with good TV during his days in the ring and I hope he brings that "good TV" credential backstage with him.

well Raw suprised me yet again keep going guys!! I thought at least Cena should have been fired for kayfabe purposes but oh well!!! HHH being the new chairman story wise anyway makes alot of sense!! Hasnt he been groomed for this since forever!! Vince is almost what 65 around there!! He wont be around forever... It will be intersting to see how this carries out!! But it sucks in a way that cena wont be punished for this not at all!! So does this mean that cena will face said champion at SS?

This is just my random thoughts on the whole situation.

Does anyone else think that Cena faces the winner of next weeks title match, and walks away with the belt? God I hope not, but that's what I think happens.

I hope the show opens with the RAW GM making an announcement, and HHH interrupting Cole and firing the GM.

If WWE really wants a pop, reinstate Jim Ross.

My final thought, CM Punk wont be gone for long.

I think Vince has a stake in ownership in ROH in real life. Much like he did in ECW when they needed money Vince would lend Heyman money but nobody knew about it. ROH and Colt Cabana do not get mentioned if there isn't an agreement in place. Just look at the similarities between ECW and ROH as it relates to TV deals and being mentioned on WWE tv. Vince will be on ROH sooner rather than later and in essence create his own rival for WWE. CM Punk will also coinsidently return to ROH.

The WWE dropped the ball when they acquired WCW and have learned from this, the WWE needs competition is order to create controversy and interest.

To quote Zack Ryder "Are you serious, bro?" I can't even believe anyone would credibly make the claim that WWE secretly owns ROH. ROH and Colt Cabana can be mentioned just as Hogan and Angle's names have been batted around the past couple weeks. The biggest change lately is that WWE on air is recognizing that other entities exist. They can do that and not secretly be twiddling their mustaches backstage for some convoluted agreement with ROH. That's just ludicrous!

for the love of god i never thought of that but with wwe that's a strong possibility i really hope they dont waste this on cena just so he can become 11 time champ it got old after about his 4th rain as champ

I think its kayfabe, I'm not quite sure if what the Board of Directors did is legal. Vince is still the owner as far as I'm concerned, although WWE's no longer a privately owned business, so it makes you wonder if Vince awarded Triple H the position, but is still in his ear one way or another.

Lately WWE has been playing to the IWC rumors and feelings (DB winning MITB, Del Rio getting a push, the whole CM Punk angle). I think WWE just pulled this from the rumors that surfaced around Wrestlemania, concerning how the writers had been questioning Vince's intentions as of late. They then threw in the whole "Triple H is going to take over any day now" attitude the IWC has had as of late and they wipped up this masterpiece. I dont know if Vince really gave Triple H the position of Chairman to further the storyline, but remember, EVERYTHING that happens on TV is scripted one way or another. If this was actually true then Triple H has some impeccable timing, showing up right before Cena gets fired.

We might have a more clearer picture come August 2nd when WWE Corporate releases their financial quarter info. Usually Vince has remarks, etc. So we might know more about this current direction.

I will point out that maybe this is the start of the BIGGER, BADDER and BETTER campaign that WWE was touting a few months ago. I have often wondered what in the world they meant by that. As I haven't seen anymore about it.

I will also point this out that Vince has always said, "why leave something that you love."

I think I remember seeing something somewhere that Vince had signed a new creative contract (before WM 27) as being an on air character and leading creative development.

Unless something has changed that we all don't know about.

Mike

No I doubt it, PG is still what's getting money.

Fathers like me have kids getting older and quite frankly are sick of the SuperCenas...the Kofis.....the hornswaggles...etc

We are starting to cheer for the CM punks...the R Truths....etc..

The attitude era was hugely profitable when it crossed lines and appealed to the older crowd...the crowds were always huge...nowadays they fail to get 8k at some raw and smackdown shows...12 years ago they always maxed out whatever arena they were in.

Now the PG era is profitable because the kids by all the toys and dolls and cena t shirts..

Imagine this....WWE finds a way to appeal to both markets at the same time. It can be done and this is what i think the WWE is trying to do now.

See they have been PG the last 4-5 years or so and now these kids are 10 and 11 instead of 4 and 5.

They are growing up and getting edgier...they want a different product than just good guys vs bad guys.

Combine these wants for a more PG 13 product with the already PG audience(yes, i realize there are 5 years olds who watch now) and you have a monster product capable of huge profits that far outweight what they have ever seen.

oh..one can dream

This is a bitter sweet feeling because hhh is something new and now he will not buired anymore talent in matches but this is also bad because black male wrestlers are going to get screwed
