Watching Smackdown, 2 unusual Matches took place. Shelton Benjamin Vs Morrision. and (at the end of the match), Jeff Hardy vs Rey Mysterio.

Heel vs heel.

Face vs Face.

I personally(like most people) dont mind a good face VS face fued. but seeing Heel vs Heel, i loved it. Just like Edge vs Jericho. I wanna see that.

Your opinions?

I thought it was cool! I hate when they shy away from these types of matches. Especially when a title is involved. We got short changed on the Benjamin/Morrison match though! Looks like Morrison is gonna be a face ow though!

Heel vs. Heel can work sometimes, but WWE usually pick the wrong heels to do it. I remember a few years ago we had heel-King Booker vs. Heel-Finlay. That was one of the most awful matches that I've seen. Those two heels just didn't establish enough to have a match with each other and make it good, unless Finlay was tired of being in ''King Booker's Court'' and began to attack Booker.

Edge vs. Chris Jericho. These are two very well-known, established, main event heels. We've seen them wrestle many times in the past and can have a great match, whether both are heels, both are faces, Jericho is the heel, Edge is the face, Edge is the heel, Jericho is the face... it doesn't matter. They have what it takes to make a great match no matter what.

The main thing with a Heel vs Heel match is that eventually, the fans will get behind one person, and if it's someone like Edge, well known and a decent enough wrestler, they'll cheer for him over say the big show. Then you just get a regular Heel vs Face eventually. But with someone like Jericho? Time will tell.

I know what I dont want to see. Henry vs Kozlov. Its going to happen eventually. Its not going to be pretty. But its a sacrifice im willing to make.

I personally am not a fan of Heel vs. Heel. I like heels over faces, but the thing is the crowd usually boos them, and doesn't want to watch it. It's bad for the company, and it just gives the fans a bathroom break. That is, except when the divas matches are on.

Actually, it doesn't appear Morrisson vs Shelton was heel vs heel. Morrisson seemed to be in borederline, tweener territory in terms of his reaction. And he had a 'altercation' with Jericho backstage. They might be going for a face turn soon.

But anyway, we've all seen face vs face feuds be great. Rock vs Austin for instance. Spilt the crowd down the middle, although the crowd did decide to side more with Austin near the end of fthe WM17 match.
Personally I think we're gonna see Punk vs Hardy in face vs face. It straightedge vs druggy, it practically writes itself.

As for heel vs heel... Well I'm still praying we get Orton vs Edge in the future. Maybe Wrestlemania 27, in a heel vs heel contest. Edge vs Jericho would also be pretty cool.

In what way, shape or from can a heel vs heel match actually work out? You have to be kidding me, right? Just imagine, your least 2 favourite wrestlers wrestle against one another. Which one do you cheer for? The answer is neither. This means the crowd is dead, the match doesn't tell a story and everyone is confused. Face vs Face matches only work on a big stage, such as Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker. It had a storyline, it had the fans on the edge of their seat and it just worked.

If Edge wrestled someone like Chris Jericho, yes the smarks from all around the world would mark out and have everlasting erections. But the fact is, wrestling isn't meant to be about who is the biggest asshole. It's meant to tell a story between a bad guy who the people dislike, and a good guy who people admire, idolize and cheer for. Heel vs heel matches have no emotion in them, because the crowd doesn't want any of these guys to win. For you guys, it's different because a large majority of you cheer the heels, as unfortunate as it may sound.

Heel vs heel matches simply do not work, and I doubt they will ever work. I've seen some heel vs heel matches, and the crowd has been absolutely dead for them. I'm willing to bet everyone was dead during the Benjamin/Morrison match on Smackdown. Don't listen to the pops John Morrison got on Smackdown (if there were any), because they were most certainly edited in. Babyface matches work, but not heel matches.

I wish we can have heel vs. heel matches but they won't work especially from the fan's perspective. You're not going to cheer either one of them so it makes it hard to get behind the match. I want to see Edge/Orton or Edge/Jericho one day, but somebody will have to turn face for that to happen.

See, you take two heels and slap them in the ring for a match, with no motive, no justification, and have them both act like heels, then you're absolutely right, it's not going to work. Like anything else, people have to care about the match, even if it's two heels, and you have a valid reason, other than one has the title and the other guy wants it, you can make it work. Let's take Edge vs Jericho, you do the match in Canada, where Jericho insults the Canadians, and now you got the crowd with Edge, still heel vs heel, but now Edge is a crowd favorite at least for that one night. Koslov vs Mark Henry, have Henry attack Koslov from behind and brutalize him before the match, then as he waits for Koslov to no show because he's injured, Koslov limps out, and fights as the underdog, I'm pretty sure he'd get crowd support (That one is a stretch, considering Koslov's lack of character). I believe it can work.

You know, Miz vs. Morrison on ECW got a decent reaction because both heels were killing each other to get a reaction. Proof that heel v. heel CAN work if done by the right wrestlers.

due to batista costing hhh the title and making the shane v orton match a 3 on 1, does any one see him turning heel?and if he does but he doesn't join legacy, then a legacy v batista feud would be interesting...even though jericho is on smackdown, i would loe to seea jericho/orton feud

It appears now that John Morrison is no longer a heel, due to his altercation with Chris Jericho. But back on topic Face vs Face can work well. Some examples:

London vs Kendrick. Friday Night SmackDown!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3ygdcHvDlk
Batista vs John Cena. Summerslam 08

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm3sKckL4k4
Batista & Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels & John Cena. RAW.

Heel vs Heel however I can't see working. I can't see a match like Big Show vs Edge going over very well with the crowd. Or Paul Burchill vs Mark Henry, no one would care.

Personally, I probably prefer heel vs heel because face vs face always ends in that sappy respect for each other crap, and they always shake hands or hug or something. It's all the same. Heels, I think, have more variety, and they're more entertaining. That's pretty much why I kind of prefer heels because faces care TOO much for the fans, and heels do care for the fans, but outside of wrestling.

I can see heel heel working if its built up properly and who wouldnt love to see Edge vs Y2J???
Lols face vs face matches are fun but they always end so boring with the hug or hand shake its just not cool.

There will always be one wrestler you chose to prefer out of the two.. Unless you're saying you only cheer the faces? Which I doubt most wrestling fans do, there's a lot of heel fans too. Heel VS Heel can work.

If you cheer one of them, then it wouldn't be heel vs heel would it?

Heel vs heel wouldn't work because eventually one would be cheered more than the other making that person the crowd favourite and therefore a face. WWE are finding it hard enough as it is to get their heels booed, they would never have a heel vs heel as this would make the problem worse.

Face vs face can only work in a feud if it is a big match like Rock vs Austin at Mania or HBK vs Taker in my opinion. The corny ones where they shake hands at the end does my head in.

Morrison's a face, due to I guess both his brawl with Jericho, and The Miz nailing him with his fagtastic finisher.

Heel vs heel doesn't work, unless one heel is about to turn face, and has been on the face turn road for quite awhile, thus drawing a good response. If not, the crowd is dead, and it absolutely kills the match.

Face vs face should really only happen if it's either building to a heel turn, or if it's the two biggest faces going at it at Mania, imo.

heel v heel can work if one of them is a tweener(you know, an in-between) but i don't think it would be considered heel v heel

after watching the triple threat match for the WHC on raw and last week's ECW, face v face can actually work if one of the faces acts more like a heel...no handshaking after the match, no hugs, just beating down the other guy as if he was a heel and before the match, cut a promo praising the fans and so on, typical face stuff...cm punk can pull it well and dreamer and christian as well

This is Professional Wrestling. Granted the “Norm” is Face vs. Heel, but I don’t see what’s wrong with Face vs. Face and Heel vs. Heel. It could work, as long as it’s done right. An example that comes to mind is Orton vs. Edge. These two could work well together as Heels if written well. Another would be Jericho and any heel in the WWE. Of course, the one issue that could arise is one of them ending up turning Face at the end of a feud, because we all know the fans will end up cheering for one of them. Face vs. Face has been done already and we don’t need to get into that.

it could work I love seeing a good heel vs. heel feud it shows which one of teh 2 is more of a heel and brings out mean streaks, egos, and a lot of heat!
