Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Blue Eyes is cool and all, but Acnologia is about 20% cooler.

For one I thing he is arguing so hard because he knows I planned to back Deapool from the start.

The people making arguments for the dragon are making good arguments, I think I made one good one and a bunch of silly/trolly ones. Nightmare is bringing it hard and Pancake is weird when it comes to debates. I told him as much. His two main arguments are Deadpool's fans are blind, despite his voting for Rambo, and TEH DRAGONS IS 50FT TALLZ OMGZ !!!!!1!!ONE!!!!

And Deadpool wouldn't win easily. I picked him because I think he does win, but it isn't an easy fight.

Maybe it's just my Deadpool markness but I don't see how a generic dragon who's only real power is fire breath is that much of a challenge to a person who has can teleport, pull basically any weapons he wants out of his bag, and has a healing factor.

Also Joe Mason's "I voted for guy "A" but wish I woulda voted for guy "B" after reading the arguments" post is every god damn match is starting to get on my fucking nerves.

You and me both.

Your fandom is getting in the way a bit. The thing is, yes Deadpool has a healing factor that makes him pretty much immortal, but it takes time. There was a story line early this year where Deadpool wanted to die so he tried to piss off Bruce Banner. Eventually he kidnapped a bunch of kids on a schoolbus and lead the Hulk on a wild chase, then allowed himself to receive a massive beating from the Hulk. When Hulk was done Deadpool was nothing more than a puddle. It took about a week before he was back to normal, and under the rules of the tournament you only have to be incapacitated, which happens to Deadpool a lot.

If Buffy has all these ridiculous super human powers, that for some reason make her unbeatable (which I'm pretty sure she's been killed at least once, albeit briefly), then why on earth is she in the humans bracket, I'm getting the sense that much like Mega Man her fans are grossly overrating her abilities.

While I have no doubt that Buffy does get somewhat overrated, when it comes to looking at the enemies she has defeated - super-human vampires, magically-infused demon cyborg, god of a hell dimension - I think in this fight she should be easily able to overcome the Joker, especially given that he has no time to concoct and lay the traps that he is most famed for.

Of course, that does bring in suggestions or her being too powerful. However, she is ultimately still just a young girl/woman who is vulnerable to gun fire, hence her being in the Human section.

Precisely. I think a lot of people have trouble with remembering that their favorites do, in fact, have weaknesses. I would even go so far to say that mentioning these weaknesses in your argument would do much more for swaying people to your side than just bigging them up.

Disagree. I can see where Jose is coming from with most of his, but guys with healing factors can be overcome somewhat easily.

Yeah but Wolverine gets the "he's the goddamn batman" votes plus the "he has a healing factor therefore can't be killed except by the magical sword of plot device" arguments.

I'm of the opinion that Wolverine and Deadpool should have their healing factors revoked and sent down to Humans if they're included next year.

A young girl with ten times the endurance of a common human, the ability to tank getting hit by a truck, a healing factor (though to a less ******ed level than Wolverine and Deadpool) and heightened strength, agility and reflexes. She should be up with the Supers.

But still a young woman who would die if Bond or Marston shot her in the head or knocked her face first into a puddle of water.

I agree though that Buffy is something of a tweener. She is probably too strong for the Human section but might not be powerful enough for the Super Section.

Tweeners are hard choices. Again, it is hard to do something like this and get it going without a hitch, but I think we did all right.

Maybe next year an idea would be to get people to make their cases for their favorite characters to be included in the tournament, not based on their strengths but their weaknesses.

I don't think Doc and I realized he was supposedly indestructable. I always figured he was just really durable and ignores pain.

This, we both had the human, killable Jason in our minds when including him.

Yo guys. Just letting you all know you probably won't hear much of anything from me today, as defined by my sig. Some of you are now probably hearing Sandow's theme in your heads, and that's cool. Just remember today has directly affected many people, to include myself.
So see ya'll around.

Alright I need more help in deciding which game to get next, I trying to decide between Red Dead Redemption ($20) or Mass Effect 2 ($15), which game is going to provide me with more hours of entertainment, & give me more bang for my buck?

it should also be noted that I plan on giving both games a shot eventually

The correct answer is Skyrim.

I have zero desire to play Skyrim, like ever.

Started Borderlands, game would be a hell of a lot more fun if I wasn't constantly running back & forth for jobs.

I feel so weird about posting today. Posting on Cena and Punk's firecracker of a promo and how their rivalry is now my favourite ever doesn't work, as I can't get over my obnoxious urge to point out how I knew how good this could be back in 2007. Can't post about Lawler, because I feel the need to attack people for bandwagoning on account of his health problems while I was a Lawler guy all along. In fact I'm pretty sure this post is just me looking for a pat on the back for those things, so even this post is really difficult to justify.

I think I just need a hug.

I felt that way once.

Took the plunge about 10 months ago when I saw it cheap (probably about $25 at the time) and now look at me... 123 hours later and I am still nowhere near completing the main story and have yet to visit at least a third of the map.

And that is exactly one of the two main reasons I don't want to play, I'd likely lose interest as I often tend to, plus I will also be picking up a copy of Madden 11 (sorry Merk is just cheaper), so I'll be jumping from Madden to which ever of the two games I trying to chose from.

Last night I wrote up an assignment for my advanced writing class while I was watching Raw, posting on here, and not concentrating. My teacher liked it so much that she asked me to post it in the Hall of Fame section of our discussion board despite the fact that it was late.

My ego just ballooned.

Actually I just looked at the "Hall of Fame" and noticed that I'm currently 1 of 6 people in there just for the week one assignment... in a class of 19.

Oh well, I'm still better than 2/3 of the class.

You're hipstering. You're also far from alone on the group of people who knew Punk could be something special years ago. I had just started watching wrestling in 2007, and CM Punk was immediately one of my favorites.

I understand where you're coming from with Lawler, though. It always sucks when you've been sticking with someone since day one and then something happens that makes them jump on to support them. But at least you know that their intentions are pure and that they are actually saddened by this news.

a) This doesn't feel like a hug.

b) Hipstering? But I have no interest in moving to Brooklyn.

Such "everyone is a winner" type nonsense should not be used.

With the increase in tuition fees here in the UK, anyone working in a university is being put under more pressure to make sure that students pass - like we have not been doing that already.

"Marks were down last year"

"Well, we taught exactly the same course and marked the exams/essays in the same way. Could it not be that this group of students were *shock horror* not as good as last year?"

Such truth is like anathema to higher-ups. What is worse though is the next generation's reaction to being told that they or someone else are not as good at something as they would like to think.

Some of the ridiculous stories I have heard from my mum the sports side of things would make you tear your hair out. Like a parent who told my mum that he did not want to see a "C" on the gym report of his daughter, despite her being barely able to throw properly or the reaction my mum got when she had the nerve to suggest to other staff members (not the kid himself mind) that the star footballer of the school would never make it anywhere because he was too small.

I am sure that Sly has come up against such things.

Some people are not ready for reality.

Next time the BZT rolls around there needs to be one man, a force of nature that I will push to the moon. Everyone hop on the train baby!

No kidding, and now the number is up to seven. Nineteen students, and seven of our first papers are considered "HOF" worthy. When I was first notified I should post mine there I was under the impression that I was going to be the second person getting that accolade, and that made me feel good. When I got there and saw I was hardly in a league of my own... I was pretty disappointed.

It cheapens everything. I'm wondering if the teacher just made that so she has an easy way of tracking "A" level of work.

Though I am happy to report that this is probably my first encounter of such behavior since going to college, and this is my final year.

Coco noticing Cena and Punk's chemistry is more impressive than Coco noticing Punk was good. I should know - I noticed too.

Isn't this old news?

This is exactly what I was afraid of. Sitting here and reading shit like that just feels wrong. It's low. It's cheap. It's Milenko.
