Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

NorCal did not engage in battle with anyone except a few undead monsters from House of the Dead 4, or something like that. I'll post the pictures when I'm not exhausted.

It was a good time. Medieval Times was thoroughly enjoyable even though our knight didn't win, Dave and Busters was a pretty fun time too. The highlight for me was playing 4 way air hockey with NorCal, IC, and D-Man. It was a very intense battle that included IC and I colliding for the puck and sending it flying about 20 feet in the air and 30 yards away, as well as IC ending the game by spilling his beer on the table. He and I wound up with a tie score at the end, but I declared that, "Tie goes to the guy that didn't spill his beer on the table."

Night ended at the D&B sports bar where NorCal ordered no fewer than three different appetizers (possibly 4, I don't remember), and we ate, drank, and were merry. I believe it was a very successful bachelor party, but I'm optimistic that this isn't the last time the five (J-Goose came as well) of us engage in this type of debauchery.

Are we LD'ing the Oscars anywhere? How about here?

Jared Leto wins Best Supporting Actor. I'm okay with that. Happy even. I wanted Jonah Hill to win, but Ledo did a great job and deserves the win. Gave a solid speech too.

AFI, 30 Seconds to Mars & Linkin Park are going on tour. I could care less about Linkin Park because they sucked when I saw them years back. Now on the other hand- AFI & 30 Seconds to Mars will be pretty damn good. I will be for sure going to this show.

I love Linkin Park, but every live recording of them is terrible. Chester is absolutely awful live.

Yeah, he is one of those singers that needs the studio to sound good. First song or two live is alright, then he blows up & has to strain the rest of the set.

Stake Land is the last vampire flick I truly enjoyed.

The trailer is really gloomy and pretentious, but the cast is promising, so I'll give it a try.

I was starting to think I was the only person that liked Stake Land. Right on.

I get what you mean, but that may stem from how the characters are written. The trailer seems to imply how vampires would be a bit jaded after centuries of culture. I will have to see more clips before I get a better feel for what they are aiming for. Still a nice change of pace from generic gore, glittery vampires or magic bayou fairy love triangles.

They're developing Stake Land into a TV series, and the story is set seven years after the movie. Can't wait.

Another problem for me is, the trailer reminds me of Byzantium. It's been on Showtime for a few months now, and I can't force myself to sit through the whole thing. And yeah, Twilight automatically pops up for any vampire discussions (for praise and ridicule) now a days. Sad times we live in.

I'm trying to cut down on unnecessary expenses, so I haven't been buying a lot in the way of entertainment. I put off buying any new video games until Titanfall came out... but today I said fuck it, I'll get Titanfall in a few months, and instead I went out and got South Park Stick of Truth.

I'm super excited.

I want the Stick of Truth. I want it so bad. I want it more than I've wanted a video game in a long time.

I never buy games full price. Like, ever. But goddamn, I am tempted as shit.

Unrelated:

London Calling (the album) by the Clash is possibly the best hour of music you can experience. Discuss.

You'll have to let me know if that game is worth getting J. I was thinking about getting it myself but can't decide if I want it or not.

Regarding games, I'm gonna probably end up getting Midnight Club LA tomorrow after one of my buddies talked me into getting it. I'm still looking to expand my game collection after that though.

Titanfall looks pretty awesome, a shame it's not going to be available on PS3, I really can't justify buying another game console for just one game. I think the next new game I'm looking forward to is Watch Dogs, & maybe the next Batman game (though after the shitfest that was Arkham Orgins I'm not sure if I really wanna drop $60 on another Batman game). I still got Bioshock Infinite, LEGO Batman 2, &... some others to keep me busy till Watch Dogs in May.

I had 5 games that I was happy to trade in (NBA 2k13, LEGO Marvel, Uncharted 1 & 2, and Assassin's Creed 3) to get a nice discount on Stick of Truth, so it wound up costing me under $30. The only one of those games I may even miss is LEGO Marvel, since I have 2k14 and the other three were massive turds.

The Clash are pretty great, but best hour of music you can experience? I'm not so sure about that. I'd rather listen to The Dark Side of the Moon than London Calling, but that's only 45 minutes long. I'm not sure I know of many other albums that run that long. By the Way by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is over an hour, and I think I might like that better than London Calling, but I'm pretty sure I'm in a minuscule minority in that regard. I just really like that album.

I don't get the appeal of driving games. It's always the same cars, same mechanics, just slight tweaks to keep players interested. I guess it's how some folks feel about sports games, but at least with sports games the players get new rankings and you get a new class of rookies and what not.

As for Stick of Truth, I just completed the first chapter and it's very good. It's not quite laugh out loud funny yet, but it's certainly amusing. The best part about it so far is that it really allows you to explore South Park from top to bottom, and there is no shortage of references to the TV show.

I would be surprised if TItanfall doesn't make its way to the Sony consoles sooner or later. It's a major EA release, and those games don't stay single platform forever (look at Mass Effect, for instance).

I plan on trading in FIFA 14 toward South Park when I get paid next week. I feel slightly bad because my parents got FIFA for me for Christmas, but less so because I asked for NHL 14. #firstworldproblems

Yeh, I have at least 10 DVDs that my parents or sisters have got me over the years that I don't have the heart to get rid of even though it's unlikely I'll ever watch them again. Always give them at least 1 courtesy watch though.

The only racing games I've ever owned were Mario Kart and Forza 4 Motorsport. I've enjoyed both but haven't played either in a good while.

I wasn't gonna buy Midnight City but my friend was telling me it's more than just races and it's looking like it'll be under 20 bucks so it's a nice cheap purchase. I want NBA 2K14 but for that I'll have to wait for my friend to pay me back the money I let him borrow earlier this week.

You know what game I really wish I could find for 360 though? Simpsons Hit and Run. I loved that game to pieces and it's bugged me for years I never beat it before the disc got lost.
