Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Well so much for hoping on getting the new job at my company. Since they hired 2 more guys off that department for supervisor roles, there are 4 spots open. I got told that they're concerned about trying to get 4 people in house trained and up to speed so they want to post the job outside and see if they can find people experienced in that line of work right away. Which means I'm basically fucked since the job is a pretty desirable position in my industry.

Oh and that's just for the two current spots. Even though I've already submitted my information, I have to submit all my stuff again for the other 2 openings that just came up. Just frustrating that they won't reward dedication and the work the 3 of us in my dept. that have put in already and now having to get stuck in going through the process all over again.

That sucks to hear man, but at least it seems like there's some chance you can get the job, even if they're making you jump through a few hoops to get it. Reminds me of the situation Merkley was in a year or so ago where he had to do all these ridiculous tests to get promoted, but it wound up paying off. Hopefully the same is true for you.

I'm just feeling really frustrated right now. This new manager that's taken over has no loyalty to any current employees here and it shows. He wants to go outside for everything and that's not how we've done things at all. We take care of those that have put in the time here already and promote our own people. That seems to be going out the window.

Already checking around LinkedIn and other spots to see what's out there. If I'm stuck where I'm at with no real place to go then maybe I need to look to other places for that opportunity to improve.

And I'm sure I'm overreacting but I'm just pissed right now. We got good techs that can do good work and we're getting passed over. This includes the guys I see and work with everyday. I know the talent we all have, plus we're all young and can stick around for a long time. I got a feeling the others are gonna be doing their due diligence and look around as well now.

I am buying a new car. Well, not new. A 2003 Chevy Cavalier. It gets 25mpg as opposed to the 15mpg I get in my Cadillac. God bless, my wallet will be so happy.

Is there anyone you can go over his head to? Would you feel comfortable/safe doing that?

I am done with finals.

I needed to celebrate this fact with someone for a moment.

Congratulations! If only there was some sort of beverage you could legally consume that symbolizes a sense of accomplishment.

Oh well.

When I bought my car MPG was my number one concern. I drive a Mazda3 and it gets pretty good MPG. I got over 400 miles on my last tank of gas.

It backfired. The lady who was selling it offered it to her son for like the past 2 years. JUST GIVING IT TO HIM! Only catch is, he had to get his license. He wasn't concerned about it and didn't want to get his license, because him and his wife, (who both live completely expense free with his mom) got to drive the car.. for free. Totally free. So when he found out I was buying it, he suddenly wants his license.. and because Mom "promised" it to him.. i'm stuck standing there with cash in hand at their house feeling foolish.

Afraid not, he's essentially the #2 person in the company behind the CEO and though I'm good terms with the CEO, I'm way too far down on the totem pole to even attempt something like that.

Double bad news. Sorry to hear that guys, but hopefully everything works out. Fred, I have little doubt that you'll be able to find another good deal on a car for you. Ty, you always seemed happy with the job that you currently have, and while it sucks to not be able to move up at this point in your career, you're still a young guy with plenty of time to climb the corporate ladder.

So this is only a fan made poster, though it is pretty cool. You know who should play Jon Stewart, Donald Glover.

I haven't watched wrestling in ages. Figured Russo's KC WCW 2000 video would be good for a few laughs and felt compelled to show up here and kick around some rocks.

This man is galacticly incapable of taking any responsibility for anything. It'd seem unreal if I didn't also work with people like this.

You come back and you lead with Russo? Never lead with Russo!

Never lead with Russo, a book about wrestling forum etiquette, coming to a bookstore near you.

Happy to see you back, Jose, but with you were here for this year's BattleZone Tournament. It was pretty awesome.

J you've seen Moonshine Kingdome right? Just saw it for the first time today, them feels man.

I have seen Moonrise Kingdom, and I loved it as well. I laughed straight through the opening gag with the boy scouts that look like soldiers. It's a very sweet, funny movie.

I'm super excited for The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I got into a heated argument with my brother when he said that the trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel gave too much away.

Christmas ought to be a hoot and a half.

I always assumed you were an only child. Take that as you will.
