Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I used to post in this thread so much I was in the top 5 - maybe even top 3 - of all time repliers to it. Now, I'm 8. Eight. What's come of me?

I'd imagine school, but what do I know? I'm surprised Crock is still number 3. I guess he built up a huge lead in the early days of this thread.

Have I been in school that long? It doesn't feel like it. But it also feels like I'm trapped in some sort of hellscape where my soul is being dragged off and replaced with a comprehensive engineering education.

One day you'll be designing a new type of safety harness for NASCAR and realize that you left something back in college.

10 years mired in ancient history did not destroy my soul.

If anything, it encouraged me to continue finding alternative entertainment so I did not get burnt out on something that I love.

My time at school didn't destroy my soul either. Then again, I studied film and communications, and I was there for half as long as you were.

Either way, my soul is intact, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I think I'm having a bit of a midlife crisis, honestly. I think I need to start doing something other than this, because it's getting to me. Maybe writing. I used to write things.

Hmm.

I thought Viking just referred to the activity, rather than the group of people. Or, as usual, am I grossly misinformed?

Don't sell yourself short. It's a quarterlife crisis. At least I hope it is. Are you planning on dying in your 40s?

They're an NFL team that plays in Minnesota. They've been pretty awful for the past decade.

We've had a couple good years at least.

9-7 in 2003. Missed playoffs
8-8 in 2004. Made the playoffs and beat Green Bay at Green Bay in the first round
9-7 in 2005. Missed the playoffs however
8-8 in 2007
10-6 in 2008, made the playoffs
12-4 in 2009, made NFC Championship Game
10-6 in 2012, made the playoffs. Peterson was MVP

2006, 2010, and 2011 we were awful. And now this year of course.

Sorry, guess thats what happens when you go to a bottom 5 school in the ******** of England.

But in my defense, fuck you

I have had a number of people tell me I belong teaching history some place....especially a time when I stood in front of about 15 people and explained the Roman Civil War, and then, with props(like, for demonstration), the battle of Cannae, and the crescent formation/strategy (the entire thing is hilarious, with the general whose ego got them all killed being one of the few to survive, and ended up being praised when he got back to rome, and the general who wanted to starve the other army out getting killed)

......However, fear of turning something I love into work is something I just have no interest in doing.

I have put consideration into possibly becoming a sub, though. Ill hi-jack whomevers class, and ditch the lesson plan / movie for the day, and talk about Cannae, and the vast Viking trading empire. Even if its like, 6th graders. :lmao:

I know if I got a sub like that, I'd mark out. I don't know if this would be conducive for keeping your job, but it's still pretty awesome.

I think I meant quarterlife, I'm just very tired. I've been up for like 30 hours now, between quantum mechanics homework and studying for exams in physical chemistry and statistical thermodynamics.

The question now is whether I can stay up through Game 1 of the World Series.

I just really hope the Red Sox lose the series. I mean, whether they win or lose the series there will probably be riots, but I'm hoping that if they lose people would rather get drunk than angry.

I fucking hate that people think it's cool to riot when their team wins. It's not cool, it's pretty much the fucking stupidest way you could celebrate.

Eh, you know how it is. People get drunk, emotions run high. You see a car, and you think - why? Why isn't that car on its side?

Why isn't that car...on fire?
