Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I don't think anybody argues against Daniel Bryan's awesomeness anymore except for maybe Slyfox, and I'm pretty sure he just does it to be, you know, himself.

DBD is the best wrestler in the world. I stand by this assertion to my dying breath.

So I just got off the phone with a potential job offer. The guy is starting his own advertising company, so he won't be able to pay me for the first month, and he said that for the first couple of months I won't have much of a life because I will have to work so much. I don't know if that's the type of job I want to get right out of college: transitioning from plenty of free time into no free time. He'd also really be relying on me pretty heavily since he took out a big loan and put it on credit cards, and I don't know if I want to shoulder the responsibility of helping him get his company off of the ground.

Think I'm going to pass on that job offer.

He finally dethroned CM Punk for you, eh? As of right now I find Bryan to be more entertaining as a character, but Punk has still put on better matches. I have little doubt that when Bryan gets access to the top performers in the WWE, though, that he'll be putting on top notch matches as well.

Yeah, sometime over the last few months he did. It's hard to describe. It's a razor thin margin to me. I think maybe the separation to me is how Bryan has mastered the skill of having excellent matches in WWE time. Look at his match with Ryback on Smackdown. Given 12 minutes opening Smackdown, he got one of the best WWE matches of the year out of a relatively green worker. This is something he's been able to do for ages, too. Of course, when he gets time and great workers, as we saw versus Sheamus last year, he's capable of making MOTYCs look easy.

That sounds like one of those things that could be huge for you if it works out, but that is a mountain of risk you'd be taking on. I'd agree with your thinking here, it's not worth it at this point.

Really? Its actually the only main one ive EVER heard. Rome as in one of the worst droughts in the history of the empire, and sacking it offered little hope of sustaining his army, and was of little use beyond saying "we did it". The was little to no food to feed his army the further they pressed south.

Ah right. I got you now - the Italian famine of 451.

I have never heard the word 'drought' used to describe it and I must admit, it threw me.

And you are right, there was virtually nothing for Attila to gain by invading Italy aside from some plunder.

Would you class the Byzantine Empire as Roman?

And does anybody know if CM Punk has actually departed? Because if he has, and Daniel Bryan or Damien Sandow don't get a main event push.... Hey! I'll even settle for an Undertaker/Shield feud. Or you know, The Shield doing anything apart from jumping Ryback for a bloody change.

Just somebody fresh (preferably heel) in the main event scene(s) will draw my interest, and before you mention Ryback, no. And no, Ziggles does not count. Too many smark chants for my liking.

An interesting question.

I tend to say that while they are the same state, the eastern half gradually loses that which makes it Roman. Latin is no longer the main language by the end of the sixth century, replaced by Greek, it loses well over half its territory by 650 and throughout the second half of the seventh century, its infrastructure and army changes away from anything recognisably Roman.

However, in terms of imperial lineage, the Byzantine Empire is Roman right up to 1453

Not bad. I've always wondered, do you have to fly over for an interview, or do they do it over the phone or internet?

It could be either. Some universities will pay for their interviewees to fly over. Some will set up a conference phone interview. I have even heard of some employing outside services for a tele-presence interview.

If there ever comes a time when I make it to the interview stage, I will let you know.

Ahhh, for some reason I assumed you were farther along in the process. Sorry about that.

When you have three degrees, 5+ years of teaching experience, a couple of articles published and at least one book on the way and yet are still considered to be under-qualified by the standards of the current job market, you can see why I am pessimistic.

That's crazy that you could still be considered under-qualified. Especially after dealing with some of the history professors I had at my school.

And now something more modern, get ready;

Magaret Thatcher. Iron Lady or Aristocratic Witch? Go!

Although I do not consider such 'history' to be true history yet as I was alive during most of it, I will give the answer of 'both.'

Modernised much of the economy, broke the power of overly powerful trade unions that needed put in their place but left a large part of the population behind in the process.

Without her, there is not 90s boom but at the same time, large parts of the north would not be in such poor shape.

So Fandango seemingly brought back his original dancer who was not on the European tour. Who do we all prefer: her or Summer Rae? Personally i prefer the original as she has such a bitchy cold vibe coming from her. Summer seemed a bit nice and definitely looked nicer but i'd prefer to see her as a diva as anybody who's watched NXT can tell you she's not too bad in the ring and has a Maryse like presence to her.

American Football players can't dance. Therefore, Scaramouche (aka Fandangirl) is the correct person to accompany Fandango.

I prefer the original Fandango Dancer because Summer Rae has better talents that can be used elsewhere more effectively.

You're not in my signature anymore. I don't know if you should be happy or sad.

Is there an option for ambivalence? On our way to the indy show over Mania weekend, IC25 informed me that I had been removed from his signature, my response to which was, "Uh... wut?" There was a time where I cared about such things, but that was this morning, and this is now.
