Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

In half an hour I am to take a final exam, and it will be my final final exam ever. To say I am prepared would be an overstatement. To say that I am ready would be an understatement. I did very little studying for the test, but I am extraordinarily ready to be done with it.

What, no grad school?

Just making my bi-monthly stop in here. How is everything going in JGlass land?

Pretty good, though a little crazy. I am graduating in a week from tomorrow, so I got that whole "end of an era" thing going on here. How about you?

What, no grad school?

Negative, and I'm pretty committed to not going to grad school. From what I've been told, grad school doesn't do a fella much good in the media industries.

I had professors tell me in pretty much these exact words that if you get a Master's in Journalism, all you guarantee is that you'll never get a job as a journalist. I'm pretty sure for most media, you only get a Master's if you want to teach.

Are you going into media/journalism as well?

I'm graduating pretty soon as well. I know what you mean about that feeling. However, I am ready to be done with it. I've been married for a good 8 months now, so I am ready to graduate and move on with my life outside of college.

I graduated with a Bachelor's in journalism last May. I worked as a student worker in the HR office on campus though, so I got a full time job there starting last March and I've been there ever since.

Wish I was graduated, but alas I'm 30 hours short. I've already got my Associates, and have been certified to do a bunch of different stuff, but don't have that Bachelors. I'm going right into grad school once I finish.

Man, I can't imagine being married before I graduate college. Then again, I've yet to meet a woman I could see myself settling down with for my life, let alone a couple months.

LOL just kidding, I don't meet women period. also a joke, I can't stop myself

What was your major?

It increases senioritis ten-fold. My degree will be in English Lit. with a minor in Biblical Studies.

I got a terrible case of senioritis these past few months. In fact, I just took my last final today and breezed through it in less than an hour, probably because almost all of my answers were mostly bullshit. That's how I know I'm probably going to do pretty decent on the test too. If I wasn't able to bullshit so easily, I'd be in real trouble!

Architecture. I've been certified as a AutoCAD technician, certified as a SMAW stick welder, and I'm getting certified this summer as a Revit technician.

That's right.

I never recovered from senioritis in high school. I have no clue how I made it through college.

I've thought about this for a while, but once I learn Revit I may design a WZCW home stadium for all our big PPV's. It would look allot better in that program than if I did it in Google Stetchup.

I think American Beauty has overthrown American History X as my favorite movie. Though maybe I need to see AHX again.

Ricky Fitz is a prophet.

If being a journalism major is anything like being a communications/film major, then I think I have a few ideas of how that's possible.

It's been years since I've seen AHX. I should see it again too.

Basically, if you can bullshit your way through papers, you'll be fine for most classes and that happens to be my specialty. There's a law class required, and I took some editing classes, but bullshitting papers got me through most of my journalism and history (my minor) classes.

I think that's a question you'll be better suited to answer than any of us. Whenever you feel like you no longer qualify as fat would be my answer.
