Getting Noticed By Management
So I had a rather interesting situation during my Civ V game (since y'all are talking about Sid Meier games).
I had to take out the Babylonians because fuck those sneering motherfuckers. They decided to mock me while I had my far superior army right on their doorstep. I took them out, let him offer up 2 of three remaining cities as a peace offering, waited ten turns and ended them. However, due to the amount of cities I took on, I had a high unhappiness level which brought production to a crawl.
In the meantime, China kept calling me blood thirsty and then turned around to declare war on me. Unfortunately for China, I am well fortified by mountains around my empire, and so I just funneled her troops in and took them out one at a time. I also had a pact of secrecy with Germany, who wanted to take China out badly. As soon as China turned it's attention to me, Germany went on a warpath, destroying all in it's path on its way to China. China desperately tried to get me to agree to a peace treaty wanting me to give up over half my empire after taking out a couple of my units. I declined, swatted away whatever was left of their units and refortified.
China won't accept any peace treaty now, and Germany is right on their door step. I'm curious if I should join in on the slaughter or if I hold back and remain fortified. Germany's going to have the same issues with production as I did with their conquest, however if I leave China to Germany, that means I have a large empire next to mine and it'll be inevitable that we'll clash later down the road. I'm leaning towards fortifying, with my advantage with the mountains surrounding me, I can keep Germany at bay and continue upping my technological advantage.
