Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I wrote a poem today for the first time in ages. I use to write quite often, but stopped for some unknown reason. Today one just started to hit me. I'm not sure if it is incredibly lame or rather decent. And I trimmed my beard and yet no one has noticed. I figured people would make a big deal out of it, yet nothing. Therefore people just assume that if Theo has a beard, it remains intact. That, or I think my beard is more important than I'm leading on.

Bitches love poetry

In a strange way, I'm glad. I wish it were more of a secret that I love Punk so much that I'd give him a handjob in public if he asked, but there's one thing I like more - monumental returns. Punk's had an incredible two years, let him go away, recharge, and come back like a man on fire. He absolutely needs to win a Royal Rumble before he retires, so here's hoping 2014 is his year.

Just because im a madman, id almost hold him TIL the Rumble.

Speaking of punk, i've been doing a lot of thinking lately. I stopped smoking at the start of the year, no more drugs in my life, and i'm at the point where drinking really isnt fun to me anymore. I rarely drink, i just don't really need to.

I'm really trying to get healthy, no more addiction. I dont want to have to use anything like that as a crutch. I'm really looking into the straight edge lifestyle. I would'nt be an eletist fuck about it, and downgrade anyone who smokes, or drinks. Its just a personal choice that I think could help me in life.

Best part of living above work? I threw in a 15-20 min nap. I'm crazy stressed of late and I went up to poop instead I flopped on my bed played with my cat and zoned out. It was a nice pick me up.

Punk is supposedly out till SummerSlam, & no longer working house shows :(

They did a nice job on Monday making it look like he was walking out on the WWE. Hopefully the WWE keeps him out until the time is right for an epic return.

Do you think he should come back as a heel or a face? Or does it not even matter for Punk any more?

Frankly, as great as he is as a heel, I'd love to see him turn face again and have a face/face feud with Cena that goes until WrestleMania. Hell, maybe Cena can hold onto the title belt until then and CM Punk can use the Rumble win to challenge Cena for the belt at Mania.

Just because im a madman, id almost hold him TIL the Rumble.

I think the WWE could afford it financially, and CM Punk is popular enough that people wouldn't cool off on him in this time. I could get behind this.

Good for you man, it takes a lot of willpower to kick a bad habit, and something chemically addicting like cigs must be even harder to kick. You gotta do whatever you gotta do to make yourself happy, and hopefully this opens some new windows for you.

It does matter whether Punk is face or heel. While it's true that, just as there are always many who will boo Cena, there are always many who will cheer Punk, the reactions Punk gets as a face and a heel are distinct (and the characters he plays more distinct still). The longer he stays away, the more viable a face turn is.

I'd be entirely behind him coming back at the Rumble, at number seven or another number where you wouldn't expect a massive return, and winning it. This is the company which couldn't wait a fortnight last time though, so expect to see him next Monday.

I'd be all for Punk/Cena at WrestleMania, but WWE would only do it if they had a bigger match to go on last - like, say, Brock/Rock. If I had to predict the WrestleMania 30 card, Brock/Rock, Cena/Undertaker and, tenuously, Punk/Ryback would be on there. I'd also be hopeful and put mah boi D Brine in the world title match.

I'm not so much upset he's taking so much time off, he deserves it & I'd rather he take time off to heal up & recover from whatever nagging injuries he has. I'm more sad about him not working house shows anymore, as he's the only guy on the WWE roster I'd most like to see wrestle live, & have yet to see, & living where I live I don't get too many TV taping or PPV's coming around here.

Anyone get kb's book off amazon? I have the kindle app on my phone and was thinking about getting it to support him. It's only five bucks, so it should be worth it. I've been enjoying his reviews for a while now. Just wanted to see if anyone had bought and downloaded it yet.

I'm not sure I'd say the WWE would need a bigger match to go on after Cena/Punk, and if they were smart they'd make it in the main event of the evening. Cena/Punk fights are always going to be the most exciting part of the evening on any card they're on, and any audience would be totally drained after watching one.

Honestly, a big problem I had with Rock vs Cena this year was how played it was. Storytelling leading into the match was fine. I just wasn't excited. It was the third year in a row that Mania had revolved around the issue. In that same vein, I could live without Punk vs Cena headlining Mania unless we got a radical new twist on the recipe (Cena heel turn, etc).

Fact of the matter is John Cena has dominated the WWE for eight years. Not Hulk Hogan's WWE, but a WWE where the machine runs more weekly television, has big matches on free television more frequently, and runs at least twelve PPVs a year. To hold onto the spotlight for as long as Cena has in this era makes him the most dominant, heavily promoted top guy of all time. Even though he's still a draw, at some point it's time to accept that the market is becoming a little saturated and start pursuing a real alternative for when Cena can't hold his spot any more. The alleged Mania buyrate news fuels those concerns for me. In that spirit, turning Ryback heel was asinine. I'll enjoy their match and feud, but I no longer think the WWE needs to give preferential top face booking to Cena and Cena alone. The time is now to find a new guy.

Look at all those words I typed. I must be avoiding studying or something.

Ryback turning heel was somewhat necessary because face v face feuds are best when they're infrequent. Though, with all the boos Cena gets, this might be an occasion where Ryback gets even more cheers than usual. However, I agree turning Ryback was bad, but for different reasons. He shouldn't have turned because he shouldn't be facing Cena right now. Sure, it might give him a decent rub, but Ryback is desparately needing a big win. That is something he's not going to get against the newly crowned WWE Champion. If Ryback were to take the belt from Cena in the next couple months, I legitimately think the IWC would be blown away. I'm interested to see where Ryback can take this, but I don't agree with it.

As for WM30 and Punk/Cena, I would have no problem with it. That would leave a likely match of Brock/Rock which supposedly they were planning on eluding to the night after WM29. Punk could definitely use a WM main event, but if it's not for the title, it's not going on last. And I'm not so sure Cena will hold the title that long. That would necessitate Punk being the WWE Champion at the time, which is not out of the realm of possibility. I would actually like to see Punk pick up the victory in that scenario. Cena doesn't need it.

Turning Ryback heel is only necessary if you think Ryback vs Cena doesn't work as a face vs face feud and Ryback isn't one of the biggest top face prospects on the roster. But face vs face works exceptionally well for Clash of the Titan style battles like this. My gut says Ryback vs Cena ought have been saved for SummerSlam so that Ryback would have time to move past the reputation he's gained in recent months of being a choke artist, giving this build a real epic feel. It should be playing out like a better version of Cena vs Lashley. Considering there're few faces on the roster who can rival Ryback's popularity, they should have left well enough alone.

As it stands now, I'm really enjoying the feud. But they're playing their hand all wrong. Which seems to be par for the course with Big Hungry.

Implying that Punk does?

Breaking Bad has set a return date for its final eight episodes. AMC's drama will return August 11th to close out its fifth season, which is the series' last. The network is also launching a new live show, Talking Bad, which will discuss the show's conclusion in-depth for fans. That will also start August 11th and air after Breaking Bad.

Fucking August?!? I have to wait till fucking August for the final 8 episodes?! Christ AMC is really dragging this out.

I like it though I'm with you that they should've delayed it. Ryback needs big victories. I will say I liked his promo on Monday a lot, minus it was a little too long.

Not in the slightest, but between the two, who could use it more? On top of that, I think it would actually be best if Punk won as a face. Not saying Cena has to be heel.

I don't think wins and losses matter in most cases. But when someone gets built up like Ryback and then loses every big match they're in for more than six months, something's gone horribly wrong.

Not in the slightest, but between the two, who could use it more?
Neither. It's the epitome of Who Gives A Fuck. These are two big names who aren't getting any bigger. It could not matter less.

Yeah, I'm sure once I've wrapped up seeing the tapings for Raw, SmackDown, Main Event, Saturday Morning Slam, Superstars (fuck me that's a boat load of programmes) I won't be ass peeved as I was when I read that he's going to be gone for a little while. I was really looking forward to seeing uber-heel Punk after seeing shitty Nexus heel Punk and face WWE Champion Punk, but hey there's enough random appearances (Taker, HHH and Foley) to make up for a lack of Punk.

I'd love to see him dissapear and then return at the Rumble, win the damn thing and challenge Cena, but I will not be at all surprised if he's back as early as Payback in Chicago. In fact if they want him back in the ring for SummerSlam then why not start building something at Payback like have a heel call Punk out in Chicago, show Punk in the crowd, but he's broken and can't do it. The continue said feud until something snaps and Punk marks his return for L.A. at SummerSlam and he kills the son of a bitch...I think I just stole Orton vs. Foley, didn't I?

Pedro Barbosa felt so bad about leaving AFC Wimbledon for Juventus that after two seasons that included a league winners medal, two domestic cup winners medals and an appearance in the Champions League final, he looked for pastures new with a relegation threatened Dutch side, Willem II, turning down Manchester United and taking a 60% pay cut in the the process.

I think you underestimate the power of John Cena's utters, which the WWE will continue to pump cash out of until he's too old or broken to do it anymore.

They do, but not in the way most people think about it. Wins and losses have a far greater impact on building a program between two wrestlers (or two groups of wrestlers) than it does in building a character for someone, unless they're on a massive winning streak or losing streak. This is why I have been defending Ziggler's loss last Monday night.

An honorable move. I like to imagine that the owner of Man U is sitting in a big evil swivel chair and is sending out his best henchmen to take out Pedro Barbosa on the pitch. Nobody says no to Man U and gets away with it!

Punk really brought it during those shows to, didn't he? Those matches with Orton and Henry were tasty.

I don't underestimate it. The Cena machine is still a major money maker, and for it to be so after all these years is a testament to the power he has as a star. But WWE's lack of interest in having any sort of contingency in place is getting laughable at this point. And in that name, I think you overestimate just how long this course of action is tenable by not sharing my Ryback-related outrage.

When Ziggler marks bitch about anything, it's generally advisable not to listen.

As for what you say of wins and losses speaking to short-term utility and storytelling, I can agree with that. But then in time, it means nothing. And most smarks keep bitching about the same old shit while the consciousness of the general wrestling audience has moved the fuck on.

As to Breaking Bad in August, I can wait. Patiently. Undoubtedly, that means I'm committing some sort of faux pas...
