Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

The reason you're digging Mark Henry is because Mark Henry is fucking awesome. Mark Henry shaking his head at Randy Orton and then countering the RKO when he first won the belt was one of my favorite moments in my career of being a wrestling fan.

Great, great moment there. Almost as great as Kane making the crossface look like a fodder submission.

I've always wanted to see a BZT done with teams, like TMNT vs. FF, Avengers vs. JLA, Mario Bros. & Friends vs. Team Looney Tunes, The Expendables vs. The A-Team, etc. I think it could be a fun new twist for the BZT.

I would nominate this for idea of the week. It would bring in a different element to the arguments and instead of one fighters weakness vs anothers strength, you would have to get creative on who gets taken out first and how the rest of the team can rally to victory.

It would have to be voted on as to who gets on the team & likely limited to a set number of chosen combatants. I am completely down for this idea. Count me in.

In other news- I would like to congratulate you on a blow-out victory in the PIM category. My team is not so hot in that department- but they damn sure are racking up the points in some others. On paper my team looked like bottom 3 material, but are doing pretty well. I was legit scared of your team beating my ass. You, IC and Ty are going to give me some trouble before its all said and done.

I don't think a team idea would work given how half the tournament votes boil down to popularity, not the arguments. Additionally, one thing Doc and I like about the BZT is that, apart from a few certain characters, anybody can win if they get the right match ups. In a team tournament teams like Power Rangers, TMNT, and a Nintendo Crew have no shot against a team like X-Men, JLA, or the Avengers.

The concept is intriguing and I think it would work great in a certain context, but not on WZ.

I don't think he told me about this.

I pitched it over Twitter DMs. I can dig up what I said, if you like.

You're probably right. However, I think that with some balancing the concept could work. It would at least stop the same fights coming up again, and allow you to introduce some new blood. The teams don't have to be based on any continuity. You could put Alucard (Hellsing), Angelus (Buffy) and Blade (Uuuh, The Blade comic series) on a team because they're all vampires or Dovakhin, Captain Marvel (DC version) and Sinestro on a team because they all absorb the power of other, more powerful entities to fight (Dragon souls; Solomon, Heracles, Atlus, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury; Paralax (via the ring) respectively). Sailor Moon, Goku and Jacob from Twilight also could be a team because they're all associated with the moon (I assume werewolves work that way in Twilight) I think that it'd at least add a fresh twist to the concept of a BZT.

Perhaps a spinoff, as it were since it's been so successful ofer the last couple of years.

The moral of the story? WrestleMania weekend is my big blowout before life ends again.

Now I got to scrounge to put some cashola together in order to attend the Hall of Fame. I mean, I don't HAVE to attend the HoF, but with Foley and Trish Stratus going in this year, the WWE's marketing team is really selling this event just for me.

Thoughts on the Community premiere last night JGlass?

Reviews have been horrid (one article I read that predicts this season will jump the shark harder than any sitcom has ever done before... give me a fucking break), and the imdb boards are shitting their pants, but I don't get it. It wasn't a strong episode, but quite frankly, none of the first couple of episodes for any season of this show are that good. It takes a while for the show to get into the groove of things. I guess people are just more impatient this season since it's shorter and since there's a new show runner. But I still have high hopes for the rest of the season.

Well, fine then. I vote Jesus to win the next tournament based on his magical powers and hippie beard. Therefore he wins. Case closed.

BTW, Deadpool still can beat a god-damned dragon. Name one terrible flying lizard and I will name one more reason why Wade Wilson wins the fight.

Why would we EVER put a Twilight character in the tournament? You couldn't think of anyone else that follows the moon?

I agree that a spinoff tournament would be a fun experiment, but I wouldn't want to squander the one opportunity we get a year on something that I don't think would work.

Overall I thought it was one of the weaker episodes (I think the Troy/Britta dynamic is unfunny, Pierce barely had any lines, and the Jeff, Annie, and Shirley characters were all out of their element), but there was still plenty of good stuff. Dean Pelton is as wild as ever, Abed's crazy fantasies are hilarious, and the idea of Fred Willard playing Pierce was a riot. I'm skeptical whether this season can match the quality of the past three years without Dan Harmon at the helm, but I'll certainly watch it.

Another way to avoid the same arguments & make sure you have fresh new match-ups is have all new competitors, don't re-use the same characters you used last year. There are literally millions of characters out there to choose from so there is really no excuse to have half the characters be the same every year.

Doc and I always make sure to try to keep things as fresh as possible, but we also want to keep in fan favorites that everyone loves so new people join in too. It's great to have the hardcore BZT crowd come in and debate about characters they might not be familiar with, but some of the new people just want to argue about Spider-Man and Batman.

K. He has the same thought on it as you (nice in principle, probably wouldn't work and would be very hard to coordinate) , for the record.

Why would we EVER put a Twilight character in the tournament? You couldn't think of anyone else that follows the moon?

At 4 am, not really. I was trying to think of a werewolf, and he's the most relavent one in pop culture at the moment. He also serves to balance the team since he's pathetically weak and unpopular (at least with the people on the board, mostof whom aren't likely to be Twilight fans), while Moon and Goku are insanely strong and popular.

I agree that a spinoff tournament would be a fun experiment, but I wouldn't want to squander the one opportunity we get a year on something that I don't think would work.

Fair enough.

I can see why it would be amusing, but you can be a mother fucking Krogan Battlemaster or a Drell Assassin. That's the awesome shit I'd be doing.

Either the Krogan Soldier or the Turian Sentinel is probably my favourite class so far, the Vorcha is awesome too. I've promoted a Drell class but I can't remember which one it was. It was okay, I don't think I put anywhere near enough emphasis on it's melee strength hence not benefiting from their acrobatics.

You'd think, but his supporters are quite vehement. I wonder how his internet following compares to that of a pre-heel turn CM Punk.

I don't even think I was on these forums before Punk made his first heel turn in the WWE, so I wouldn't know about that. But pre-heel Punk > Ziggler.

The catalyst is really just an intelligence created by the Leviathans to solve a problem they diagnosed and gave to him. As such, his sole purpose is to continually solve that problem. When Shepard takes control of the Reapers he essentially replaced the Leviathan's intelligence with that of his own, meaning that Shepard's thoughts are now what control the Reapers. If your Shepard was a good guy that treated life with sanctity than the Reapers wouldn't use their powers to kill, only to help life (whether synthetic or organic) thrive.

Of course, there is still the question of whether any one person should have that much power, but when you have a saintly character like a paragon Sheaprd taking control, I don't see what harm it could do.

Well, it depends on how the transformation is made. Does Shepard's mind continue to age? If so, like that of any human, I imagine he'd go mad. Being alive for so long, almost an eternity, indeed could drive him mad. Think about it, he's alone, detached from loved ones, and with all that power... I just wouldn't trust it. I'd still select destroy and hope everybody learned from their mistakes of allowing artificial intelligence to progress too much. Because although peace between synthetics and organics seemed amiable for the moment, Javik poses a slightly convincing argument that has its worries. I may just pick control next time seeing as it's the only ending I've not picked and saving loved ones has a great appeal hence why I picked synthesis when I did. And after what happened with the Reapers, despite atoning for the damage caused, would humanity and all the other races just let bygones be bygones? Or after benefiting from the Reaper's technology, would they develop a little taste for vengeance?

The triple thing? I have no opinion on it yet, I still don't know what it is!

I suppose this is an acceptable answer. Come to think of it I can't really think of too many fictional characters associated with the moon either, though there must be a werewolf character in a Castlevania type video game, or Castlevania.

Either the Krogan Soldier or the Turian Sentinel is probably my favourite class so far, the Vorcha is awesome too. I've promoted a Drell class but I can't remember which one it was. Yeah, it looked like the Drell characters put some weird focus on melee which seems like a serious disadvantage considering how much of Mass Effect combat is about creating separation from you and your opponents and almost every class has a move designed to stun or knock down enemies.

I don't even think I was on these forums before Punk made his first heel turn in the WWE, so I wouldn't know about that. But pre-heel Punk > Ziggler.

I think I was, but just barely. Punk was actually one of my favorites when I started wrestling simply because his name was CM Punk and I like punk rock music. I still liked him once I found out more about him, but the initial attraction was the name. I vaguely remember having few people appreciate CM Punk back before he turned heel, though they didn't particularly dislike him either; he was mostly just a non-factor. After his first title run he attracted a lot of negativity, though, and people started calling him a paper champion, because repeating lines verbatim from JBL is super cool, and most people never thought he'd be anything more than that.

Lulz.

Or after benefiting from the Reaper's technology, would they develop a little taste for vengeance?

I don't think his mind would age, at least not in an organic sort of way, and probably not even by a synthetic standard. It's not like he becomes a Reaper himself, he becomes an intelligence like the Catalyst: nothing more than a sentient thought.

My concern would be that he uses the Reapers to meddle in the affairs of the other races. Maybe the Krogan really do start to conquer other worlds in a quest for both revenge and resources: would Shepard send in the Reapers to prevent the Krogan from taking Turian or Salarian worlds? I would hope that the Shepard I created would let the problems of the galaxy play themselves out, but I can't be sure.

That's the philosophy I tried to approach the game with: let life find its own way. This is why I don't think the destroy ending is necessarily the best, because you're depriving "life" from the Geth, EDI, and any other AI lifeforms in the galaxy. They might not be alive like humans or Asari, but they can evolve, and I think that's one of the major points of the game: evolution is the driving force of life.

It pretty much goes without saying that none of these endings are perfect, but depending on your level of faith in Shepard and personal philosophies a strong case can be made for control being ideal. Destroy is still a perfectly reasonable choice as well, but I feel bad for the EDI, Joker, the Geth, and the Quarians whom the Geth were helping to adapt to their environment so they could stop wearing the environmental suits.

Synthesis still sucks, unless you want to be the Reapers' bitches for the rest of your life.

GG Deadpool.

Wade tells a joke that appeals to his former human self. While the dragon is amused and distracted Deapool uses his magic satchel to remove a syringe full of AIDS. He injects it into the dragon and walks away. The dragon eventually dies while Wade sits at home watching episodes of Beakmans World.

That was easy.

Alduin. Give me 1 good reason Deadpool can beat the World-Eater and I will suck a dick

I assume you have already sucked a dick or 2, but I will answer your question (as if you really needed motivation to do that again)

Wade buys the game, some Mountain Dew and Doritos. He then reads the walkthrough and defeats the dragon. Then he takes a nap.

Dragon is defeated. You may now suck a dick. Go on. Have at it champ. Dont forget to say "My, what a lovely tea party" when you are done.

Probably because he's unlikely to be a Charger next season.

There is a whisper in the wind about a new Skyrim DLC... called Redguard.

Could a trip to Hammerfell be in the Dovahkiin's future?
