Edge, Love Him or Hate Him?

Ive been an EDGE HEAD for years now through the Lita/Matt Hardy stuff, with Edge and Christian, and amazingly with vickie guerrero, however when he turned face after returning from injury i thought wow maybe he gets the respect he needs and fan support better than just kids that say he's a bad guy.

Now he appears to be a Heel again (raw), will you cheer him or boo him?

Should he have stayed on smackdown?

What Does the Future hhold for the Rated R super Star?

I have to admit I've always preferred him as the bad guy heel (seeing as his E&C character was a heel (at least I considered it a heel) but like Chris Jericho, he was insanely entertaining)

I will be cheering, and enjoying Edge much more as a heel, I feel while it served a purpose turning him face for his feud with Jericho, his work is still better as a heel, he's a born heel, and if they turn him heel on the show, perhaps actually do some pairing with Jericho eventually (not now, would be absolutely idiotic pairing him with Jericho this fast) to fight Randy Orton and John Cena.

Something tells me we're to see a Randy Orton vs Edge feud, which is a shame really, cause I had hoped Randy might have been drafted to Smackdown (to have a proper main event guy there, seeing as Taker won't be around) to feud with Jack Swagger some more.

But if it is Orton vs Edge, I'll be looking forward to that feud, wonder what Jericho will be doing then though.

I have been a huge fan of Edge during his time as a heal. I started watching wrestling on 2006 and loved his fued with Cena. I loved that he didn't care about the fans. I was glad when he moved to Smackdown because he needed to be on a new show. I loved everything he did there except the face turn. I started to doubt if he could ever be as good again and found myself booing him. Now he's a heal I will cheer him because he makes being a heal cool.
Just my opinion

HEEL or FACE...we don't really care as long as EDGE is performing in the ring....
did expect a long face run for edge...but that is not going to happen considering his segment with christian on SD.....bad move....

EDGE has done it all in the b'ness...has held every active championship nd has several other accomplishments....9 time world champion,IC champ,US Champ,14 time tag champ, unified tag champ, undisputed IC champ,MITB winner,2001 KING OF THE RING WINNER,Royal Rumble winner......FACE OR HEEL WE do not care...its not going to affect us 1 bit

I've been an EDGEHEAD from the time i started watching wrestling(was 9)....
having a normal comparison which most of you might not agree with me...is that EDGE's onscreen persona is that of TRIPLE H's real life story.....
miltiple world championship reigns....using a female power to win championships....high profiled royal rumble return nd victory......

I have been an Edge Head for quite a while myself. I definitely marked out in 2002 when he started to cut his own path on Smackdown. I was also a big fan of his theme song "Never Gonna Stop" by Rob Zombie. Back then the hype was much more alive then it is now, but Edge has been pushed a lot more since then.

I would prefer it however if they didn't push him to the moon like they have done for John Cena and Randy Orton tho.

I'm indifferent to him. It's hard for me to say that I love him or hate him. Besides his two TLC matches, I've never really found Edge that appealing to me. I did like him a bit when he was first turning heel in late 2004 but his gimmick has grown stale to me since. I want to see him have a face title run because him and Jericho are the only two superstars that have been around the longest without a face title run I believe. If you need someone to deliver in a gimmick match, then Edge is your guy and I'm cool with it.

I've been an E&C fan forever but have been much more of a Christian fan since they split. He'll never be one of my favorites or ever in my top ten in the WWE right now, but he's one of very few main eventers in the WWE that I actually enjoy watching in the ring (him and Jericho are pretty much it, maybe Orton every once in a while)

So, he gets my props. I don't like both him and Jericho going to Raw especially with Edge turning heel as I can't possibly imagine Jericho getting any main event spots anytime soon with all the talent glut there right now.

I don't think wrestling has ever seen improvement on the mic like Edge (and Christian) have since they debuted. And while not the best at any one thing he's one of the most well rounded workers WWE has.

Now if this were a better era of WWE wrestling I don't know that Edge would have this many championships and such (Rock/Austin era when he was in his tag team days for example) but in the watered down mediocrity that is 2010 WWE he is one of the half dozen true highlights in the company.

I like Edge as a wrestler. He always delivers in big match situations, and his expressions/mannerisms show his intensity. But im not really stoked on his heel turn, because im pretty sure his spear on Orton indicated that. Honestly I think it's stupid because you already have Batista, Sheamus, and one of the top heels in WWE that he JUST finished feuding with in Chris Jericho, and they are ALL on Raw. But Orton/Edge would be pretty sick and it would be a good reason to keep them out of the title picture for a little bit.

Honestly I had a hard time getting behind Edge as a face just because he's such a natural heel. I won't be cheering for him because he's a bastard for spearing Orton. I hope Orton RKOs him on Raw next week.

I've always liked Edge when he was a heel and the tactics he employed cause its seems natural to him from my perspective and I just don't buy him having the "Ultimate Opportunist" gimmick while being a face now; So I hope he goes back to Heel...

This may be a little off topic but this years draft has been absolute rubbish! The main event on raw is now much to crowded and smackdown has such a small one. Unless the e is actually going to use Kingston and christian. Look who they lost ses, Jericho, edge, Morrison and look who they gained, Cody Rhodes, kofi kingston and Christian, no offence to any of them, especially Christian but the gains arnt worth the losses. But back on subject like a lot of you I don't care as long As I see the superstar
who is rated r every week on my tv I'm happy

Edge is alright. I think he's good, but not that great. He only looks great because he's surrounded by alot of mediocrity. However, his match against Jericho at WM was one of the most disappointing matches of the night for me. He's come back from injuries before and delivered. I dont know why his match was so bad at WM. Very lackluster. Jericho carried him. Edge is rather prone to injury and has always been a transitional champ. His mic work was better when he had Christian to bounce energy off of. He's not a bad wrestler. He's had some great matches. But for me, most of the time the buildups to those matches were never that great. The match quality always caught me off guard. When I was expecting a bad match, he delivered a good one. But as I said earlier, when I was expecting a great match, Jericho vs Edge at WM, he didnt deliver. So for me, Edge is kinda in the middle of the road. I dont have a problem with him in the main event matches, I just think he is more of an enhancement talent for guys like Orton. Edge playing a good natural heel is perfect for him because it gives the guys that are better than him more of a reason to win without it seeming like Edge is a jobber or getting buried. I think he's going to make Orton look really good, but will he ever be in the same category as guys like Rock, Austin, HBK, 'Taker, and Orton? No, not in my opinion. He'll remain second class to those guys, but in my book, thats not a bad thing.

Well I believe Edge is one of the best heels in wrestling today, he pulls it off amazingly, now not to spoile anything but from reading the Smackdown report from last night, I kind of like the way he's playing it out, very ingenious really he'll get so much heat from it, he'll be heel for a long time to come.

I believe he should of stayed face tho, and maybe reunited with Randy to form Rated RKO and split them near Summerslam for that big feud in the summer, the fact they haven't is questionable, but regardless Edge face or heel gets himself over so much he's unique in the sense.

Either way I'm an Edgehead and glad he's on RAW.

well since everyone is sayin....I like Edge (a lot) since 2004 but when he "shocked the world"screwing Cena OMFG BEATIFUL that made him one of the top dogs in this business.I mean with his heel persona (just like Jericho did) Edge was solified as a main eventer. plus as someone said I dont see how is going to work the "ultimate opportunist" gimmick being a face with all the crazyfaces etc...so yeah I think that he needs to be heel...by the way Orton vs Edge will be AWESOME 2 of my all time fav heels!

Well I love Edge, Face or Heel, no matter what, I tend to love him more as a heel though as I think it suits him better, I liked when he came back and faced Jericho at Wrestlemania, cause it was meant to happen, and he was pretty much meant to be face for that, but I couldn't really get into his character as much as I could when he was a heel, as he was so entertaining when he was a heel, and now that he is again he shall be even more entertaining to watch! I can't wait for Raw next week!

Well, I have always been a fan of edge, except for the whole Vickie Guerrero thing, that was horrible. Anyway, he is a rock star, even as a hell many fans still love him. I do not typically like heels more than faces, but Edge is an exception. The only other exception to that rule has been Orton for the past few years. Edge makes a great heel and a great face to be honest. He is not very convincing as a face which is why I think WWE wanted him to make another heel turn, plus they are probably going to have another feud with Edge and Cena for the title on Raw, however, I do think Orton deserves it more at this point.

Hi all,
Must say i am an edge fan and i think its great he is heel again he has always played that so well. I am putting it out there now and saying Edge , Christian either reunite or fight at wrestlemania 27.

Smithers

I've been watching WWE since WM17, so like since I was 9 and I've been a fan of Edge and Randy since around that time (Randy a year later), Edge will always have my respect and so will Randy. I'm really loving Randy's bad @$$ face turn right now but I do think Edge could have lasted longer as a face... even a face/face fight with Cena forcing Cena to become a heel would have been nice. Either way, Edge will always amaze me, I just dont like that he is heel so soon.

Rated RKO feud should be good though.

Heel or Face, I'm still gonna cheer for Edge. Despite being a heel, he's incredibly entertaining, and whenever he's a face, he does every right thing in order to get everyone to cheer for him. When SmackDown was on a low, anything that had Edge in it was a show-saver, and when SmackDown was on a high, kinda like how it was when Edge return, the Edge segment simply sweetened the deal.

RAW has gold on their show, let's not screw it up.

I have been a fan of Edge for a very, very long time...I can't say since he debuted with the company, but I was a huge fan of The Brood and since then I have liked him. I personally think he is a better heel than anything else. When he was injured he was a heel but I don't understand why they brought him back at the end of January as a face just to turn him heel at the end of April? I'm confused about that, but happy at the same time. I hope he doesn't go after Cena for the title though. I am fucking tired of Edge vs Cena matches. They hash that fued over and over. I'm really tired of Cena being on Raw...how many times can he have matches with the same guys over and over before the crowd just jumps in the ring and kicks his ass just to give the people at home Cena vs Anyone Else in a No Holds Barred match...You listening Vinnie? Crowd riot=Cha-Ching!!! but I digress...I'm happy Edge is on Raw and I hope that they do something different with him this time around...

I am not so sure that his face turn was planned. WWE could have just wanted to have a heel/heel feud with Jericho, but Edge was so over with the fans that the most logical thing to do was have him play the face role during that feud. Before the rumble I said that I wanted him to win, and he did, and I was very happy about that. I still think Edge is a cool mofo and will still be way over with many fans just like RKO as a heel. A lot of people were confused at the quick face turn and back to a heel so quickly, but I am not really sure that the face turn was really planned, it might have just been written in at last minute.

I like Edge, not my favorite but I like him.

He's much better as a heel though, these past two months with him as a face has been painful. The whole "SPEAR! SPEAR!" thing was ******ed, his over exaggerated hair pull down thing he does was really cheesy and he just seemed kind of lame. He didn't have that... well "edge" to him that made him interesting.

I liked Edge because his whole gimmick was that at any given moment was he was going to do something big -- "The Ultimate Opportunist". He's this wildcard Rockstar thats gets by not through skill like HHH or willpower like Cena, but through his cunning. That role is difficult to mold to a face though, and WWE didn't even try to adapt it to Edge's face turn. Instead they turned Edge into a rather generic face character with a lazy knock-off catchphrase "SPEAR!" (Gore, anyone?).

I'm happy to see him heel again. I see Edge as a possible tweener as well. A tweener/tweener feud with Orton would be awesome.
