Dream Feud... Sting vs ???

Occasional Pre-Show
So, it seems as the result of a recent interview with Sting, he was supposedly offered a match against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27 and he turned it down for the most obvious reasons, or they couldn't settle on a deal, or whatever.

If this has been posted before I apologize, I'm still relatively new to these forums. The dream match everyone was talking about besides Cena vs. The Rock, was Undertaker vs. Sting. Now obviously this match would have been billed as WCW's Phenom vs. WWE's Phenom. This dream match always appeared more of a persona vs persona, WCW darkness vs WWE darkness. I have to say though, due to limited ability by both superstars I don't feel it would have been an amazing match like Taker has been capable of the last three years. I instead, had a different dream match in mind involving Sting.

I really, really, REALLY, would have loved to have seen a 90's Sting face the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, the recent HBK not the 90's HBK. I think this could have been a major match of the year candidate had it ever happened. I really feel that this match could have been a real story-telling style match, the way wrestling used to be. Think about it, they are pretty similar in size, both had a semi high-flying style, both were capable of changing the tide of a match in a heartbeat. I think it could have been one hell of a fun match to watch.

So yea, instead of Taker vs. Sting, even with the dark persona ideas involved, I would have loved to have seen HBK vs. Sting instead. Any thoughts??? It's too bad this can't ever happen...

I agree! I think HBK vs Sting would have been one of the greatest matches ever! I think the match would have been great in the 90s.

I also think Sting vs Ultimate Warrior late 80s/early 90s would have been awesome.

Then there is The Taker vs Sting which is my 3rd on list!

When we talk about "dream" matches or the best matches of all time, I always think about the workers who always brought the best out of their opponents. Ric Flair was exceptional at this. It didn't matter who he faced you always thought you were watching the most amazing match ever. We got to see this a lot with Flair and Sting and they put on some of the most classic matches of all time.

Using that same formula, if I want to see a match that would bring the most out of Sting in the 90s, I would have loved to see Sting vs Ricky Steamboat. The Dragon was another one that always pushed his opponent to the heights of their talents. A Sting/Steamboat matchup would have been epic.

Put The Undertaker in the main event with Cena and The Rock! The Streak and the WWE Championship would be on the line. Undertaker would win the WWE Championship and have his Streak intact.

The next night on RAW, he could retire, having beaten Cena and The Rock.. plus he would retire as the WWE Champion once again. They could then set up a series of matches leading to a 4-Way Dance, or one-on-one match, for the vacant WWE Championship at Extreme Rules.

I think this is a good idea because The Rock will prob disappear after WM28 anyway, so he won't win the belt. Cena will be the only one of the three still on the active roster. Taker will disappear, like he always does, after WM28. Except this time it may be for good. He is aging and his plateau would be an even 20-0 at WM. He would leave respectfully. Retiring as the WWE Champ would be a great show of respect to Taker. NOT like the infamous "Montreal Screw Job".

sting sucks any so called 'dream match' wouldnt involve sting.

Austin/Rock, Hogan/Rock , Austin/Rock, Austin/Cena

Sting sucks and isnt even in wwe so him in a dream match with taker is just garbage.

My dream feud would be Sting vs Retirement. He haven't done anything that wild me. His matches are less then 10 minutes now. He complains about who he working with. He still have creative control on his matches? I don't think Sting get the idea of retiring at the peak of your career. Sting trying to have a dream match against a WWE wrestler is a failed attempt like the Rock vs Hogan.

But here's the thing, the Sting of NOW would be limited, but the 90's Sting was pretty impressive. If you match the Sting of the 90's against the same HBK from both WM vs. Taker matches, it would have been an amazing match to behold.

I guess for Hogan...I don't see it. I think even the Sting of now vs the HBK of now could still be a great dream match. Hogan has very little gas left in the tank and the match would have to be very, very, very slow paced with Cena and Hogan, or Austin and Hogan. I think pitting anyone against Hogan really limits their moveset and ability. Hogan could only take so much in the ring and would probably only be willing to do a few big spots in a match, thus making the match kind of slow and boring...

If it wasn't for their egos and persona's, the Hogan/Rock match would have been terrible, but their abilities to play to the crowd and tell somewhat of a story saved that match...

Sting vs... Old Age.

Old Age would obviously win. But seriously, I don't want to see Sting feud with anyone. Wrestlers in his position should either be retired or used to put over young talent. Since TNA isn't willing to give any up and comers an actual chance, he is worthless in my eyes.

lol. What? Rock vs Hogan might have not been the dream technical match or anything, but the crowd involvement in Canada made that match AMAZING. Still the best crowd involved match I have ever seen. And it was Hogan passing the torch to the Rock.

Don't be a fool.
