Dragon Ball Z

Who cant remember this show huh? it was the all-time best damn animated series in the whole world. I remember as a kid i woke up at six to watch Goku kick some ass. Everyone was talking about it and still is today. There are countless of games, comics and merchandise brought out for this masterpiece of a show. I remember in school we always portrayed the characters and would battle just for fun xD. Anyways please share your experience that you had from this show, i'd love to read them

I'm not concerned with the TV show but rather the movie adaptation. This could be a very badly done version as the animation was one of the driving forces of the show. Even with James Marsters as Piccolo, I can't imagine this show being turned into a passable movie. It seems to be one of those shows that is bigger than the silver screen and I think that's what's going to happen here. No matter what this is going to seem like an underachievement. Could be ok, but won't be great.

I have seen Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and most of Dragonball GT. I really enjoy Dragonball although DBZ is just as good. DBGT is confusing, and a little too watered down for my taste.

Ah I remember Dragon Ball Z. Great show. I remember I used to always come home from school, sit down in front of the TV and wouldn't talk to anyone until the episode was over. Good times. And of course, Dragon Ball Z is better than dragon Ball and GT. GT I just couldn't get into, and Dragon Ball was the lead up into Dragon Ball Z, and I wasn't really interested in that. And at school everybody would do the Kamehameha. It was a great show for everyone.

I used to get up Really Early to watch this show. I loved it. Its one of those TV shows i could watch none stop, and not grow tired of it. I loved the Cell Sagas to me that was my favourite series. It was when my favourite Character really shined. Gohan, when he was fighting Cell, i was on the edge of my seat waiting for it to be over, Unfortunatley one problem with this show was it never went for that long, you got so drawn into it it seemed like an episode was only ten minutes long.

This show use to come on at 7.00am in the morning on cheese tv. I use to love the show. It would also come with Pokemon,Digimon,Beyblades and yu-gi-oh. Of course i loved pokemon and digimon got old after the first season beyblades was great and yu-gi-oh was good until they beat the dude witht he weird eye. But DBZ was great. I remember actually being scared when i was 7 because i thought that cell guy was under my bed at night ( it was a one night thing). I use to love it.

Fav characters= Gohan and Android 17 ( i loved 17)
Fav episode= The one where gohan turns SS2

But after they beat cell i got sort of bored with it. I watched it when they vsed BUU and vegeta turned to bad super sayin but i never really got it again. Mainly because i moved but oh well. Funny thing i was actually thinking about renting it today because it had the super 17 on the front, but i never got to do it ebcause i am like i should watch all the episodes before watchimg that one.

Anyway, Dragon Ball Z was probably my faveourite cartoon growing up as a little child, I remember waking up at 6:45am for Cheeze TV because Cheeze TV would show it. For the non Australians, Cheeze TV was a show on Australian television that would show three cartoons in the morning before school and would finish at about 8:30. That show was epic, this new show, Toasted TV is just no where near as cool as Cheeze TV was.

Anyway, back onto Dragon Ball Z. Once again, probably my faveourite cartoon growing up and it was all the rage in primary school with cards, tazos, games, etc and if I remember correctly, Dragon Ball Z cards and tazos got banned at my primary school because some kids had a fight over it.

My faveourite episode would probably be where Gohan kills Cell with Goku's help with the Kamehameha or where Goku kills Buu. The perfect Cell form was my faveourite Villian because he was so cocky, arrogant and such a bad arse, like Randy Orton.

Oh my God, I remember watching this show. All the Japanese guys, the random yelling, the Supersains or something... wow. How do those Japense shows get so damn popular? Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto whatever. Kids go crazy for these things. I watch them now and am like, WTF? I liked this? Its ridiculous. Kids run around with all the merchandise, and start acting like the guys, there are commericials like 24 hours a day for these ridiculous things. The weirdest part is, I used to like all that stuff.

You do realize that this show is based off the Japanese comic by Akira Toriyama, before it was adapted into the show that everyone loves/hates, right? It goes back to the 80s. I loved the first two DB and DBZ, but the third one was crap (it's not officially canon, since Akira didn't even create it). My favourite characters were Gohan, Brolly (although he only appeared in the movies), Cell, Android 18, Piccolo (to a certain degree, especially when he and Nail merged), and Majin Buu. I did like Vegeta, but when he got his ass handed to him one too many times, he just looked weak compared to everyone else. Gotta hand it to Dragon Ball for starting the pop craze and influence for all the current Shounen Anime.

Ahh, Dragonball Z. This show is one my favorite shows of all-time and easily the best anime I think. I've watched a good bit of Dragonball and it's good; I've also seen a fair amount of GT, but that is just confusing and odd..I also hate the child Goku thing. Imo Drgaonball Z is far and away better than both those series. I remember my friends used to watch it and got me watching it shortly after the beginning of the Frieza saga (that is, when they go to Namek as I tend to break the show down into 4 sagas and not like 15 like some). To this day, I think Frieza and Cell were some of the better villains that I can remember.

I have been skeptical as to if I wanted this adapted to a film (or film series) for a long time. Hopefully, this Dragonball movie coming out this year isnt shit and allows for that possibility. I would only want them done if they could legitimately do the show justice. They could be absolutely epic if done right, and if the right actors to portray the wide array of characters could actually be found.

Ahhhh, the countless episodes of bulging muscles, trash talking and no action. Those were the days. Of course the japanese version totally surpasses the crappy UK shit we got on Cartoon Network. IE we never saw the Snake Queen's servant blow her own brains out while trying to convince Goku it was a good idea to play Russian Roulette. Or VIdel get ten sacks of shit beaten out of her in her WT match at the beginning of the Buu saga.

My favourite characters were blatantly Cell, Vegeta and Hercule (Mr. Satan in the Japanese version)

If you loved Dragonball Z, did anyone ever watch the series of Ninja Scroll and not just the movie?
