When you've seen the treatment dross like Carroll and Downing have gotten recently, media darlings, signed by Liverpool, it does worry you to see how much longer the Bale train could be.
Ironically out of the two above, Carroll's the one I've still got faith in, I mean it was laughable when they called him the next Shearer (greatest Prem player ever imo) but he has the potential to be everything that Peter Crouch isnt, a tall heading machine that takes more than a quarter of the sitters he's given and can actually play football.
Although in my eyes Peter Crouch is tarred by the brush of "what could have been if Michael Owen had been fit for once."
Bit like Gareth Barry is tarred by the brush of "what could have been if Owen Hargreaves was fit for once."
