So does the rest of the Country, I believe they held a vote on whether people wanted the England band to continue to play after they were banned for that one game and the response was overwhelming in favour of scrapping them completely. Yet they are still there. Foreigners must think we are all that obnoxious.

To be honest, I could not give a shit that he played for United or that he chose to take a chance on playing for the biggest club in the world over staying at Liverpool but there is something about his "holier than thou" demeanour that annoys me.

He speaks with very little empathy for the fans.

He did a rant on Twitter before calling out Newcastle fans saying he was never offered a new contract. He was, he did interviews in 08 saying he was.

Did Newcastle not offer to be the highest payed player. Problem was it was in the championship. There should be no hatred between either party.

The mans goal tally vs time on the pitch is ridiculous. 4th highest England goalscorer? When was the last time he even played? Had his career progressed naturally and he'd be number 1. Enduring years of Crouch knowing Owen was nursing injuries was horrible.

And to be fair, expecting a player to come back from long term injury or absence and be banging them in is a bit of a stretch sometimes. He was still scoring right up to end of his United run (Manchester or Newcastle)

I know it's not on par with doing the same against the national side and that Wolfsburg have slipped a bit, but his hat-trick against them IN Germany for (Man) United just always seemed glossed over. The winner V city was definitely his best moment in red but a CL hat-trick is quite rare.

Ah come on he was 33 and destroyed by injuries at that stage(and wasn't exactly playing in a great team either). He was an absolute warrior during his time at Liverpool which is what MCMG was referring to.
