Another great free kick. Bale is extraordinary, fantastic player. Honestly as good as Cristiano Ronaldo. There's no doubt about it in my mind at least. I don't know if he is as good as Messi, I still think Messi stands alone in an upper class of talent. But even Ronaldo's trademarked free kicks are starting to pale in comparison to Bale's.

OK I've seen the second offside and after the millionth viewing I can see that it was. The first wasn't.

I would have agreed a year ago.

But just now, no one can play alongside him, he's a very impressive player. He never lost the ball all night basically and played some uptempo and quality stuff. I honestly think that Ronaldo is somewhat overrated anyway, so it would put Bale (a player I rate very highly) right alongside him in that regard.

I agree that Bale's top form this year has been better than in past seasons but his consistency has yet to be proven.
