Cryptic "01/02/2012" Video - Chris Jericho Returns- KEEP IT IN HERE! - NO SPAMMING!

I think you need to go back and read the part at the end where I said

Kane came back at the end of the show, he just explained WHY he attacked Cena at the end of this RAW.

When Jericho came back the last time it was at a point where WWE was faltering. They needed something big to kick off Smackdown and start a feud with Orton. When he first came to WWE, it was at the top of the show interrupting the biggest star and starting a feud with The Rock.

You cant honestly say, more-so after now knowing the ME of RAW, that you expect Jericho to return at anypoint in the show. OF COURSE its going to be at the end.

Again, Jericho debuted at the top of the 2nd hour, interrupting the Rock. They even started the show with the clock counting with over 50 minutes left before the signature intro. Get your facts straight, I got the whole show on VHS, for crying out loud.

His 2nd debut was also at the top of the second hour, again on RAW not Smackdown, interrupting Randy Orton in the midst of his in-ring promo to declare there was nobody left to beat. AFTERWARDS, they were both shipped to Smackdown.

You're right on one thing: Frankly, I don't expect Jericho to return at any point in Monday's show, because I don't think it will be Jericho. Check my previous entry to see why it's entirely feasible for Shane McMahon to return on 1/2/2012.

I'm not talking about a Kayfabe squash. I'm talking about someone who will legitimately make Punk look bad to fans. Punk shines in a transitional period with lack of star power but in all honesty he is more or less a second rate Chris Jericho and I believe Vince knows this. Chris will make Punk look bad by comparison because anything that Punk is good at, Jericho is simply better at.

I know what you are trying to say but what the hell is a kayfabe burial and legitimate burial? And Sir, squash means to beat someone under a minute or quickly without giving the opposition offence. I certainly don't get the meaning of squash and burial in your theory. The above quote is a little weird. How do you know CM Punk is a second rate Chris Jericho? Only because he uses "Best in the World" phrase? No. CM Punk is better than Chris Jericho IMO. I am not a Punk mark nor a Jericho mark. I am biased to both. Chris Jericho is very good in the ring and on the mic but you can never count punk out. He is excellent in ring and better than good on mic. They don't call it "Pipebomb" for a reason. He shook WWE in just one shoot which Jericho has never been able to do. Jericho has had great mic battles with Rock, Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, Edge etc. But this doesn't mean Punk is less than him. His straightedge promos against Hardy were gold. Especially that promo where he exploited Hardy's drug issues made him gold on the mic. He made Triple H look ordinary albeit he is not the greatest talkers but Triple H is not a mug. He made Cena look stupid. He owned Alberto and Miz. He certainly and torn Laryngitis(Can't spell his name properly :lmao:) apart on mic. Yes, he hasn't had good talkers to compete it but that doesn't mean that he cannot hold his own against Jericho. I think you know what I mean to say now. Jericho hasn't been on WWE for a year. You are expecting too much from him. Let us imagine Jericho and Punk having a mic battle and suddenly Punk gets the most of it. Will you still underestimate his talent? So, you are underestimating punk too much. Jericho is gold but it is not always necessary that he will be the better one, is it?

So how does everyone think it's gonna go down this Monday?

I think, with the "cryptic" videos interrupting segments and video promos of superstars, they'll go with the same concept. However, this last video will come right in the middle of the match between Punk and Ziggler. It will cut to the video during, and then it will fade from the video to it being displayed on the big screen above the entrance ramp. That would be the cue for whoever (Jericho?) debuts.

It's possible they save it for the end of the match so Punk wins clean too.

Any thoughts?

Yes I may have incorrectly used squash in my post. I don't mean losses in under a minute here. I mean to completely ruin Punk's career and make the guy look bad. And when I say kayfabe burial vs legitimate burial I mean that Punk is going to legitimately look like crap by being completely out done by Jericho, rather than having him suddenly not be as good in the ring. Take for instance John Morrison. He was booked as a guy who won most of his matches and was being pushed to the top. Then suddenly he gets booked to be a jobber. The key word is booked. I think that the idea here is not for Punk to be booked to be lesser than Jericho, but to be put in a legit feud in which he is actually simply out performed. Chris Jericho and Punk could have great chemistry and Jericho could very well put Punk over(more over)....if he wanted too. However Jericho stated himself that he was upset about people like Punk and Miz copying him. So I can't imagine Jericho, who doesn't need the WWE at all, coming back to help put the guy over.
I don't think Punk is a second rate Chris Jericho because of the "best in the world" phrase. I think he is a second rate Chris Jericho because he copies Jericho(Jericho said so himself) but doesn't deliver as well as Jericho. Punk is famous for his witty remarks, but Jericho is wittier. Punk would have been eaten alive by someone like The Rock in a verbal battle. Punk made Cena look stupid? Cena makes him self look stupid anytime he talks IMO. Del Rio is not much competition at all on a mic. Hardy's drug issues is simply a real easy target that many like to exploit. Laurinitis? A child can own Laurinitis on the mic. Miz? To me he is only decent on the mic. Triple H? I thought that Triple H's promos were better. Punk took a few cheap shots at Steph, big deal. Jericho is a much more solid ring worker and has more charisma. Now this of course is my opinion, which is what a lot of my theory is based on. You saying Punk is better is no more wrong nor right than me saying Jericho is better. As far as expecting too much from Jericho? That may be the case. I have pretty high expectation for Chris. I just can't see Jericho going into a feud like this unprepared. If CM Punk manages to get the best of words against Jericho consistently then yeah I'd admit I underestimated him. However I think Punk is highly overrated and can only shine when there isn't much star power around him and when matched up against easier opponents. I think Punk is probably the best active superstar on the mic and one of the best in the ring. However, given the current roster and product, that's not saying much IMO. Plus you have to take into consideration the fact that it is scripted and if Vince really is trying to ruin Punk then certainly he would limit his freedom on the mic. That's all still assuming that this really is some sort "evil" plan to ruin Punk. And that assumption really comes from the fact that despite the fact that Punk was given so much opportunity and was given multiple world title reigns and some of the best angles at the time, he was still going to abandon the company. Vince doesn't typically reward those who aren't loyal, especially not as heavily as Punk has been. Why would Vince take a guy who wanted to abandon him and then drop the whole Nexus storyline for him, give him a couple more title runs, give him the merchandise he requested, turn him into the face of the company, give him the main spots in the show, and give him more money? Punk was given so much before and still wanted to leave so why would Vince trust him to be the face to lead them into this new era if, after all the time and effort spent on him, there is such a risk for him to leave? I think Vince is just trying to build him up to knock him down hard. Why wouldn't he? He gets to make money milking the merch sales and the fan support, then he gets to get back at Punk while making an example of him to the rest of the locker room, and on top of all the he gets to prove the IWC that they are wrong. He already turned Daniel Bryan's character into a hypocrite by cashing in before WM, had Cole point it out and bash him repeatedly for it, and left Bryan with no one to have a decent feud with at the moment. I mean there is Big Show, but having Daniel winning matches to the Big Show will just piss a lot of people off. Therefore showing the IWC they are wrong about Daniel Bryan and proving to us that he belongs in the mid card. I think he is trying to do something similar with Ryder, as he doesn't have anyone left to give him a decent feud at the moment and is subsequently stuck with Eve Torres. So to me it isn't so far fetched that he would do something similar to Punk, especially considering he has an actual reason to punish Punk. Hell first possible excuse he gets, he's trying to take the belt off of Punk. I think Jericho is going to bring that true change to the WWE. Too explain it all simply in an analogy..to me it's like CM Punk is the top 5th grader in the whole elementary school. He has the best grades and can out wit all the other students in academic competitions. Unfortunately principle Mcmahon has a personal problem with the student and is thereby going to make him compete with the best 8th grader thereby making the 5th grader seem less intelligent by comparison.

Now I know this comes across as me sounding like a Jericho mark, but to be honest I never liked him. I have respect for him and recognize his ability. I was a big fan of the CM Punk push and title win, but I just honestly think Chris is the better performer. For that I am really eager to see him return because I think he would be a great asset to the show, and I think he can make it more entertaining. I'm also not hoping for Punk to get ruined and this isn't what I would have them do. I'm just saying that this seems to me like something that Vince would do and given the timing of everything currently happening, seems like a possibility. To top it all of, we don't even know for sure yet if Jericho is even returning. Not to mention that even IF he does return, we don't know that we'll even see him feud with Punk at all:lmao:. It's all just purely speculation based on things I gather from other threads and articles mixed with my opinions on which of the two is more talented. I'm sorry for the confusion with my terminology and misguided usage of "squash" and "burial". I just simply meant he's going to make him look bad and then ruin his career. Just speculating:shrug:

it is definitely a guy. I can't remember the exact phrase but what I remembered is there is the word "he". So it is not Stephanie McMahon or Kharma or <insert monster girl here>.

It should not be Brodus Clay. Because when it is revealed that it is indeed Brodus Clay, that is so stupid. Brodus Clay? Really? That's so lame.

So is it the Undertaker? This is too much for him. Undertaker only needs a lights off to signal his return and not this kind of stuff.

Sting? That is so stupid. Sting has no business with Vince since the word "WWE" is created.

My bet is on Chris Jericho because he is the most likely to do such things. Although I don't get it why it showed a dark cryptic promo.

I do. Jericho is as much about "change" as Punk. He never comes back the same character, and always tweaks his character when he is around. Thats the sign of a talented wrestler (Im looking at you JoMo and your fans too!).

I can see the promo interrupting during or coming on after the ME. Once its revealed its Jericho...let him go OFF. Go into how he's sick of everything that he has seen since he's left. He's sick of all the whining and bitching. Sick of Punk talking about change. That he is here to destroy the WWE that JL is running (the whole "end of the world" part of the promos).

Jericho doesn't have to be big and strong to be a monster. He can tear everything apart with just words. The downfall of the WWE and Punk's reign starts on 1/2/12.

Thats just how I see things going as far as what these promos have lead on. Jericho doesn't have to become this mysterious figure, or even take on a new character like Undertaker. But he is VERY good at being a heel and he can play the dark heel.

The problem is...when he IS revealed, he will get a LOUD cheer from the crowd. If they intend on him being a heel he needs to come out swinging right away.

I really hope its a new character...a little shock value would be nice. I'm not talking about Skip Sheffield pretending to be Arnold or another FCW retread, but someone different and completely new. I can't give examples of who I would want in that role because it needs to be someone off the radar. Maybe a guy from New Japan or Mexico. Give him a manager to speak for him...make him what Kane used to be. Doesn't mean he has to be a giant, but someone who legit scares the little kids that cheer for the faces. To me Jericho or UT coming back this way is just overdone.

If it's Jericho I'd like to see him be neither heel nor face, just simply Jericho. Not everything needs a label. We talk so much about reality and change. I'd like to see him indiscriminately go after anyone. I think the top 3 people for him to go after should be Miz, Punk, Laurinitis. I could see him cutting some one off with something like "look here junior"...well in his own Jericho like way. Or laughing at Ryder and walking off without even bothering wasting a promo. That would be funny lol.

Although someone new WOULD be cool...the 2nd promo was about a second coming. A second coming to WWE would only make sense, as someone who WWE fans do not know would get zero reaction. Honestly, there really is no one out there on the market I can think of that this type of promo would be good for. Everyone that has been released has been mid-card at best.

its not Jericho check this video he comments on the 2012 "coming" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HinrfGi0glg&feature=related

Go away troll.

No how is that video trolling?. ive said it a hundread times it is not jericho he is gone get over it! no point getting your hopes built up he is busy with fozzy.

Vinnie...good point about the second coming. What if the person returning was only the mouth piece for a new talent? It would cause a good crowd reaction and still give us something different. Its too bad he can't stay clean, but imagine Jake Roberts bringing in some monster and cutting those edgey promos!

Cause the video is obviously fake. Jericho has played the fans various times. The last time he came back he denied it. So just because he says that he is done "wrestling" for WWE (as he put it) that means that he cant show up for a program at WrestleMania? Oh wait...it was said on the internet over twitter, so it MUST be true.

Besides...Punk and Jericho have gone back and forth on twiter and it has been long rumored that a program with them was sure to happen. That rumor was even BEFORE the promos started. I cant count how many times Ive read "talks have broken down" between a wrestler and WWE...only to have said person show up soon after.

The only way I could posibly see it happening was if someone in FCW was ready but had no mic skills. But I doubt there is anyone they are ready to bring up yet, and what kind of reaction would said person get? You're going to get a reaction based on the manager...not the talent.

While it is possible for that scenario, I dont nor would I like to see that happen. The promos speak of a second coming of someone to "destroy" (for lack of a better term) the world as we know it.

WWE doesn't seem to want to stay with managers. Vickie seems to be the only one they're using (and she is getting stale).

If you actually take the 2nd coming part literally it can be applied to both Skip Sheffield and Brodus Clay. They have both been on WWE t.v before and then disappeared for one reason or another.

Although I'm of the belief it will be Chris Jericho, I could see the promos being for one of Skip or John Moxley who is rumoured to be debuting soon. I do not think it will be the Undertaker.

Throwing my "reach as far as you can" guess out there- Edge. Haven't heard too much about him since he stepped down, so who knows- but it would certainly be cool if it came to be that he got a different diagnosis or it was all a work and he's coming back to reclaim his title. I can dream!

Okay. I see what you are trying to say. But I still think Vince is too egotistical to do stuffs like these. If he wants to bury someone he will do it in a second like a finger snap. CM Punk is now the leading merchandise seller and the best superstar of the WWE. Losing him means losing $$$ from merchandise sales. Vince knows this. He is happy with the merchandise sales from Ryder and Punk and that is why he is pushing them. Similarly, he has pushed D Bryan because he knows D Bryan is a masterpiece when it comes to wrestling. D Bryan can carry a match and make anyone look good. Vince has been impressed by this. Jericho cannot bury Punk. I know Jeff's drug issues are eay to exploit but he made him look pathetic on mic not because of drugs but due to his mic skills. Jericho is good on mic but now way the best. When he debuted he did a good job but at last he was owned by The Rock. So, Jericho may make Punk look weak but at last Punk will be the one standing and benefiting. Rock is a great talker but did he bury Cena? No. So, I am only saying that Jericho doesn't have what it takes to bury a superstar like Punk. Jericho is 41 and Punk is 33/4. Punk may in fact make Jericho look old in the ring.

I know im going to be called crazy for this but just hear me out.....I at first thought it was Jericho....but its too easy for it to be him and then I thought it was taker but then once again, really taker at a school....with kids and a girl speaking for him and him being the shy kid....uhmmm no....then I even start thinking well maybe taker is coming back with Michelle McCool as his manager in a heel role....then I just think that is dumb....So my final thought came when the little girl said this is the end of the world as we know it...Its not taker.....Its not Jericho....Its......................................................

.................................JOHN CENA..................................................Now hear me out....All vignettes are featuring kids.......a male being picked on......the world is WWE Universe.....what would make that world end....The death of Super Cena!!! Now all next week on RAW there will be lead up videos to the reveal....then I think the WWE will do a swerve and have the lights go down, someone be attacked several times throughout the show....the beatings get worse and worse....then everyone is going to at first hint that its taker.....then the last attack just as RAW is about to end will be a serious attack, with even Cole breaking his gimmick and saying ok this is sick and going to far....and the lights go out again....and when they come back up its Cena! RAW goes off the air!!

I got MY facts straight you moron! I said...

They pushed Jericho right from the gate because he was HOT!! Who better to place him in a feud with than the hottest superstar in WWE at the time!?

As for Orton...RAW, Smackdown, doesn't really matter. The FACT is they started at the top of the show. It started on RAW to get the feud exposure. Just like last year how Undertaker is a Smackdown guy but feuded on RAW with Triple H so the feud could get the exposure FIRST.

Do yourself a favor and learn how to read before you post.

First off, I won't argue with a fool, for then we both are...

I have it on VHS because I taped it while watching it live, like virtually every ep of Raw since 1994 and Smackdown since 1999. You like to say "FACT" when your "FACTS" ARE SKEWED, then you blow off those errant "FACTS" by 'doesn't really matter'. If you want to use the industry vernacular (ask your Mom what that means), use it correctly. The TOP OF THE SHOW is the START OF THE SHOW, or the OPENING SEGMENT. My facts are accurate, both debut and return were at the top of the SECOND HOUR. Now, if you mean something else in the future, try saying it right, oh, I don't know, THE FIRST TIME. Then maybe you can have an intelligent, thoughtful discussion. As for Shane, to dismiss any elements whatsoever of the videos can't possibly relate to him just means you're in perfect mark position when he does show up. Unless you're sharing a condo in Shanghai with him, it's mere conjecture (again, ask your Mom) on your part that it's so impossible. You have your guess, I have mine, and both have merit. Being so sure Shane would never come back and do business with Pop is just as blind as being so sure Jericho is working the IWC by insisting he's not coming back. Respond if you have something constructive; if it's all about name-calling, you might wanna think twice about that. And double-check your "FACTS" before you post.

Not that I think it'll be Cena, 'cause it seems this turn would be something teased to happen on PPV to get maximum bang for the buck, but this is the first Cena scenario I could accept if it turned out to be him.

I have it on VHS because I taped it while watching it live, like virtually every ep of Raw since 1994 and Smackdown since 1999.

Lol can I get a copy? I would have PMed you but it said you wouldn't accept them.

I don't think there is anyway that it could be:
Shane- because even if it were him, he'd get a bigger reaction if he just showed up as a surprise than to hype him as such. Too much hype for him.

Brodus- because his return is already talked about on the show, and it would be a big let down. Especially since he is still in the developmental phase.

Skip Sheffield- he has already returned to dark matches and house shows, so so many people have already seen him back.

Stephanie- she was just on tv during the Punk angle and it just wouldn't make sense stroyline wise to wait and then hype a return to get revenge.

I think it could be a possible heel Cena but I highly, highly, highly doubt it. For one, he is already in a heel turn angle with Kane. The only reason I could see it as possibly being him is because the promos aren't acknowledged on TV and are made to look as if the show is being hacked to show the videos. They could try to explain it as Cena doing it himself and that's why Kane didn't know. Also because of the fact that if Cena turned heel, those who cheered for him would boo him along with the ones that truly don't like him and those who just hate him because he's a cheesy super hero will cheer for him along with loyal Cena fans. This would essentially get him the exact same reaction. However if the WWE hyped up the return of a superstar and made us believe it to be Jericho or some huge star coming back ad then it turns out to be Cena, who's already on the show, the crowd will erupt with boos from genuinely pissed fans. It would be a cheap way of getting him heat.

Here in the UK there was a WWE special on Sky Sports yesterday about the greatest superstars of the 21st century. It featured Chris Jericho and during an in ring promo he said, "I am the best in the world in what I do".

This may have already been mentioned during the thread but the only man proclaiming himself to be that today is CM Punk.

Chris Jericho returning at this point would be perfect timing. He is an ideal fit with Punk's style of wrestling, and vice versa. Whenever they have faced one another before it has always been thoroughly enjoyable. And they are both very good on the microphone.

Purists should want this to be Jericho, and for his arrival to instigate a rivalry with Punk leading to Wrestlemania.

This is a chance for the WWE to go back to what it has previously been good at.

According to this article an WWE insider is quoted with saying that Jericho is in Memphis from the first to the third of January...
If there is some legitimacy to this article then it is Jericho. It's almost like a confirmation.

I just read the last 5 pages or so and of course my previous post was obsolete to begin with. But I haven't read this explanation on this thread jet:

And I quote: (from youtube-user umutcanlives):
In the video the little boy is representing Jericho and the little girl is representing Punk. Keep this in mind throughout my explanation. Notice, how the little boy continues to write in his notebook and the little girl keeps trying to look at what he is writing. Once the boy goes into the corner (Jericho's time off from WWE), The girl tries to do the work herself, but can't come up with anything. Keep in mind that she looked at the boy's notebook and this is implying that she has stolen the boy's work, which represents Jericho going to come back and claim that Punk is a fraud and has stolen his ideas and gimmick and what not. Also the ball in the video represents Jericho "dropping the ball" by leaving and Punk "taking the ball and running with it". The ball belonged to the boy and the girl took. At the end the girl, is standing in the spotlight and the boy is in the dark with his head down indicating that we have forgotten about Jericho and that Punk is the new guy we all know and love. This will lead to WM match with Punk and Jericho. Look within the video not what the kid is saying

This is the best explanation of the vids i've seen out there yet, and I'm 99,9% positive it is going to be Jericho who is coming back, with a new darker persona.

You are sure right with that first paragraph and a hell yeah for the second one!
Jericho - Punk is perfection in almost all categories of wrestling (except for the steroid monster body) and I have goosebumps just thinking about it.
