Cryptic "01/02/2012" Video - Chris Jericho Returns- KEEP IT IN HERE! - NO SPAMMING!

The same people who announced Bret Hart's return have stated that Jericho is scheduled to be back on 1/2/12 on Raw and that there's a probability he'll be in the Royal Rumble and that they're setting up a Jericho/Punk fued for Mania.

I'm going to explode with excitement now! Get the fuck in there!

Welcome back Y2J!

Ok people, before we all get carried away here, lets look at it from every possible viewpoint,

1. It has the looks of an "unofficial" return since the promo hasn't been aired on the broadcast, nor has anybody on the announcing team mentioned it.

2. We all know taker usually returns around that time, but why would his promos not be aired on the broadcast? his character is not known for Internet uploads.

3. Everybody is jumping on the Y2J bandwagon but why do we assume it is him? It can be anybody, hell it could even be HBK, Vince, Shane, Bobby Lashley or even JBL! who knows?

4. If it is a taker return, is it such a shame? we are going to get one hell of a WM match out of it, as we always do with taker!

5. The promo suits Taker for its mysterious appearance, but as said before his gimmick isn't know to be "social media" friendly

I personally don't care who it is anymore, as long as creative book them right and we get one hell of a storyline out of it, it can be Maven for all i care! Yeah a Y2J vs Punk fued would be good but im not hyping myself up only to be let down!

Why doesn't everybody just hang on to their horses until 1/2/12 and wait for who it is? We can say we want it be Y2J, Taker, Sting, Vince, Shane all we want! Simple fact is, WWE knows who it is, the promos are purposely made for one person, not put on youtube for us to discuss and then creative decide its for whoever the majority on here say it SHOULD be

As he sat upon the mount, the question arose. When shall things be, and what shall be the sign of my coming? The answer, when she tells us. She holds the mystery of my arrival, of my rebirth. For when I beckon her, I will return to claim what is mine, and things shall never be the same again. On the second day of 2012, it will be the end of the world as you know it.

IF it does end up being for Jericho, would is the female? Stephanie? He was never aligned with or had any sort of connection with any female. If its Stephanie I could see it going like this...

Stephanie gets Jericho to come back and go after JL and challenge his authority. She is looking to take back what is hers (the WWE) because they (Triple H and her) had control and lost it to JL. Jericho is coming back to take back what is his (RAW) from JL and possibly be the RAW GM.

After Triple H cut the promo on Undertaker being gone, I would actually like to see Stephanie return use Undertaker this way.

I REALLY want Jericho to come back but I dont want these to be for Jericho.

It begins. Second. Look Within. Control.

Each video has had some underlying bible verse within.

It begins. Isaiah 26:20

Second. 1 Thessalonians 5:2

Look within. Isaiah 35:4 - Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.

Control. Matthew 24:3 - I will return to claim what is mine, and things will never be the same again.

No other Jericho related quotes were contained in the other verses (that I could find). I am more confused as to who the she is.

I'm thinkin it might be for finally the debut of the Kings of Wrestling as Chris Hero has said his goodbyes to the indies and the she might be Sara Del Ray. Del Ray, Hero, n Castagnoli finally make their long awaited debut. The Undertaker w/ Michelle McCool will return. Or if it is Jericho could he be the Anon GM for this whole time and Steph will back him? ITBEGINSLOOKWITHINCONTROL is so far the words.

This fourth video makes me hold out the hope that it is Stephanie and Shane. That would be tremendously exciting and surprising.

Probably Jericho though...The "she" bit is confusing for either Jericho or Taker.

Undertaker is the Undertaker. They would never have him involved with McCool in an on-screen storyline. It wouldn't fit with his character.

Also, Shane isn't with the WWE anymore.

It's Chris Jericho. The girl represents the WWE since she's "summoning" Jericho back.

The video they posted on Youtube on the official "control2012" account isn't the same one that aired on RAW. On the live show, after "Control." came up at the end, there was a quick flashing of 5 or 6 images. One of them looked like the kid standing in a field with his arms up.

Does anyone have a link to the live version?

I don't know about all that other stuff you posted, but I did pick up on this tonight. As soon as I heard the kid say "will never be the same again" I looked at my girlfriend and said "Looks like it really is Chris Jericho coming back." And she looked up from her book and said "Who's Chris Jericho?" Then I remembered that she doesn't actually watch wrestling and was just hanging out in there reading while I watched the show. But she was awful happy for me that I got excited for a second about Jericho ("Who?") coming back to Raw. Then she fell asleep about two minutes before Kane returned so I ended up scaring the crap out of her when I marked out for the mask.

But back on topic. Jericho's history of these types of viral promos along with the line in tonight's promo of "will never be the same again" have me pretty convinced it will be him.

The first quote "Come my people and shut thy doors" is a biblical reference from Isaiah 26:20 it means "hide until the danger has passed" The first promo as a whole screams Jericho, claiming what is his (He has complained for months that his moves have been stolen. "The end of the world as you know it" May be a reference to Punk being the best in the world, and returning to set up a feud with him.

The second quote is the "power cometh is a theif in the night" also a biblical reference from Thessalonians 5:2. This is interesting, it is translated differently, but consistently refers to the 'Lord' returning. Taker is the Lord of darkness. "Like a thief in the night" This means unexpectedly, which is strange as the return of someone is announced.

The third promo "behold the power will come with fury" is a quote from Isaiah 40:10 "The Lord comes and he rules with a powerful arm" Again references the undertaker.

The promo tonight "As he sat upon the mount" is a reference from Matthew 24:3 "As he sat upon the mount of olives" which is a sign of the end of the world. The woman, could well be Stephanie mcmahon as she has unfinished business with Punk. It could also be Mccool and Taker, but I doubt that.

It is all highly interested and it's 50% of the reason I will watch again next week.

If Chyna wasnt a porn star and an escort, I would put money on her coming back with Jericho. She used to manage Jericho, so she could be 'the she'. She has reasons to come back and raise hell.

But that aint gunna happen, and we all know that.

Skip to the very end and you'll find the live version.

Now I have to say promo 4 doesn't seem very Y2Jish or Undertakerish. Totally threw me off guard. My number 1 pick was Taker, my number 2 pick was Y2J. Now I'm wondering who the "she" is. That being said I have some stuff to say.

Promo 1: It Begins 2012

Come my people and shut thy doors about thee. For a power shall come to punish the meek for their inequity. For on the second day of 2012, a familiar force will arrive to claim what is his and it will be the end of the world as you know it...It Begins...

That above ^ sounds very Undertaker like. He controls darkness, he is the deadman and has powers etc. He can be seen as a force. He's the friggin' Undertaker! The thing is it's way to wordy for Undertaker. Usually in Undertaker promos there's eerie music, graves, monks etc. There's usually no lengthy speeches so to speak. Now onto Y2J. He usually has these kind of promos with large words and codes. However, there's no actual code to be broken here. Inequity= unfairly treated. Undertaker hasn't been unfairly treated, Jericho had been treated unfairly last year,. Claim what is his= Undertaker's yard or Jericho's title of "best in the world."
Promo says either Taker (most likely) or Y2J (unlikely).

Promo 2: Second 2012

The power cometh is a thief in the night to claim what others have taken, knows who are unjust, destruction will come upon them and they shall not escape. The second day of 2012 is coming and it will be the end of the world as you know it...Second.

Night, destruction again points to Taker. Claim what others have taken= Jericho and his title of Best In The World.

Moving right along to Promo 3: Look Within 2012

Behold the power will come with vengeance to render his anger with fury. The deception the weak have perpetrated will be castigated. The second day of 2012 the Prophet will emerge to destroy the weak. It will be the end of the world as you know it...Look within.

The power will come with vengeance to render his anger with fury= two different things/people. Biblical=Y2J. Random coincidence Chris Jericho and his band Fozzy have a song called End of Days XD lol. That's irrelevant. Around here I'm still thinking 1) Undertaker and 2) Y2J.

Then we have Promo 4: Control 2012 which has complete lost me. :wtf:

As he sat upon the mount, the question arose. When shall things be, and what shall be the sign of my coming? The answer, when she tells us. She holds the mystery of my arrival, of my rebirth. For when I beckon her, I will return to claim what is mine, and things shall never be the same again. On the second day of 2012, it will be the end of the world as you know it....Control.

Who is ther "her"? Stephanie McMahon. Michelle McCool (LOL JOKES). The word here is control which means either the person who is returning is going to be the GM or the "her" is the higher up rehiring the mysterious person. I don't know anymore, I'm just going to wait it out.

All I know is the eeriness and darkness= Undertaker
And the wordiness and biblical references=Y2J
the chick could be Stephanie McMahon but I don't know.

Random thought...Brodus Clay? Take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm3RyUR57D8&feature=endscreen&NR=1

"I'm the beginning, I'm the end."

Seems to fit, if you ask me. He was supposed to return tonight but didn't

The fact that the promos go through internet and "hack" twitter and all that, is a Jericho thing. Something about these promos just seem a bit odd for it to be Jericho or Taker. Too wordy for Taker and too creepy for Y2J. Who is it then thoughts? LOL if it turns out to be Brodus Clay :lmao:

IT BEGINS, SECOND, LOOK WITHIN, CONTROL 2012...

I went through some lists of former WWE superstars and these are the people I found most likely to be the ones behind the video. I could be way off base, or it could be the return of someone who is not a former superstar (in that they were still/are still under contract), but this is all guesswork anyway.

I haven't actually checked what any of these guys are up to, but I'll do the list anyway, seeing how we've nothing to go on and they'd want to keep quiet about it anyway, so... Yeah.

Somewhat likely
Undertaker - Gets a hype video every time he returns; Is due to return for Mania; References in the videos; Reclaim the title?

Chris Jericho - Does cryptic videos; Would not be unlikely to return. Rumored for Mania; Reclaim "Best in the World"?

Goldberg - Wants to do one more Mania; Coming to reclaim the "streak"?; Rumored to have been in talks since the video game thing about a year ago; Was rumored for last year's Mania.

Bobby Lashley - Rumored to want to return to WWE; Had a female manager; Reclaim the title?

JBL - Rumored to have been in talks with WWE; Reclaim his gimmick from ADR?

X-pac - Waltman is already signed on with the 'E; Reclaim DX/The Attitude era?

Mankind - Foley has appeared multiple times lately; Reclaim the hardcore?

Long odds
Sid Vicious - Was rumored to be in talks a while back; No idea what he'd reclaim, though. His dignity? Too late.

Batista - Acting and MMA hasn't been working out too well for Dave; No rumors of talks, though; Reclaim his title?

Rhyno - Very long shot ...

RVD - I don't see it, but ...

Brock Lesnar - McMahon met with Dana White not too long ago; Lesnar teased with Taker last year; Is rumored to want to take a break from MMA; Reclaim his #1 spot?

Why are these on the list?
Tomko - Went *poof* after being a tub of lard in TNA, could he resurface in the 'E?

Heidenreich - Don't know what he's up to.

Christopher Daniels - Would fit with the overall theme, but seems unlikely WWE would invest this heavily in him.

Carlito - Ha, not really.

Paul Burchill - Was lost in the shuffle and made no lasting impression; doubtful they would invest this much in him.

Kevin Thorne - See above.

Wasn't Cherry slated for a return between now and eternity? I think I read some rumors on the main site about her. Could she be the "she" of the video? Of course, there's a host of other divas to choose from (Melina comes to mind), but that's off the top of my head.

WOW just WOW..........I felt bad suggesting Chyna, but then corrected myself at the end of my short post.

Did you really type all that and waste time thinking about Paul Burchill and Kevin Thorne? :wtf:

Bobby Lashley is also an MMA Champion. You really think WWE would have him in their organisation whilst he does MMA at the same time?! And that isn't Bobby and Krystal in the video as kids because they are both black :lmao:

Your reading comprehension is really horrible. Bobby Lashley is an MMA champion on paper, at best. At worst he's been given a title by a floundering organization looking to do anything to garner publicity. I did not "waste time thinking", but I can see how you would think that thinking is a waste of time.

My post was pure speculation, with the intention to spark discussion, as I noted at the very top of it. You, on the other hand, are just being an ass. So shush and let the grown-ups discuss the things you obviously cannot comprehend.

WWE wouldnt allow Lashley to do MMA and WWE. You really think they would push him and make him look strong only for him to get demolished in MMA the next week making the WWE Roster look weak? Think about it kid.

Your post was just awful, I am sorry but needed to be said. You spent ALOT of time speculating about people it wouldn't be in a million years. Kevin Thorne. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

After that latest video, I'm convinced it's Y2J :worship:. He will come back with a new persona, not the same "boring" one he had before leaving. One of the key words is "Look Within", well if you look within the second promo, it says "The power cometh is a thief in the night, to CLAIM WHAT OTHERS HAVE TAKEN (CM Punk taking his title of Best in the World). Also, the fourth has the line "THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN That's the biggest clue for me. I think people are reading too much into it. Are they gonna have Kane return and Undertaker promo's at the same time? We've got just over two weeks to wait.

As for the woman, the only thing that makes sense, not just for Y2J but for any named candidate, is Stephanie McMahon. That in itself, with the history between her and Y2J would suggest it could be him.

All I know is that if it's Brodus Clay, I'm going to kill myself :banghead:

Almost no question that it's Chris Jericho. I mean let's remove ourselves from wrestling fantasy land for a second and logically think about this.

It isn't going to be anybody from the independents or from TNA because there isn't a name out there that is a big enough to promote for what will amount to six weeks.

It isn't going to be The Undertaker because it's too early for him to return. They wouldn't have him come back three months before Wrestlemania and risk injury.

It isn't going to be somebody like Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels, or Brock Lesnar for various reasons ranging from other ventures to just not fitting logically into any storyline.

It isn't going to be Vince McMahon because he was just on TV two or three months ago to announce that Triple H was being removed as GM of Raw. So, his return wouldn't be that special. Not to mention, they have never really promoted his returns in the past.

And this is the biggest one of all, but it ISN'T going to be Shane McMahon. You really need to remove yourself from your parent's basement and get in touch with the real world if you think he is even a remote possibility. We're talking about a guy who is one of the most successful young businessmen in the United States. He is very powerful and is making a lot of money at what he's doing. With that comes great responsibility and great time commitment. Does anybody HONESTLY believe that he would sacrifice that for a wrestling angle? Get real.

So, process of elimination tells me it's Chris Jericho. I think that we can all safely assume that whoever the person is has had a prior run in the WWE, and Jericho is the only one left who makes any sense. He comes back to challenge CM Punk and once again become the "Best in the World." I suppose it's possible that they include in the story that Stephanie McMahon is behind Jericho's return to exact reveng upon Punk and to get control back of the WWE, but that's about as far as I think it goes.

Lets be real here . At first all signs pointed to Jericho , but with the addition of the girl .. all bets are off . Its obviously not lashley and his wife because the kids arent black . Its not Jericho because there is no female associated with Jericho, and it wouldn't be Stephanie McMahon, with there history ? Are you kidding ? Its not batista. Logically I think it points Shane coming back " for what is his " fighting Johny Ace for control. The girl is Stephanie , calling her brother for help to take back the family business

And its not dark enough to be taker .

@VoiceofReason3:16,

It's not Shane McMahon, it's just not. He doesn't have time to get involved in a wrestling angle. He's the CEO of a company and sits on the board of another. Do you think the investors of those companies are going to be thrilled with Shane getting involved in the family business again, especially in a storyline? No chance.

Plus, that doesn't even take into consideration that his invovlement makes no sense. Triple H is still playing the role of COO of the WWE in the storyline, and they haven't exactly kept it a secret in recent months that he is the husband of Stephanie McMahon and son-in-law of Vince McMahon. So, that means the business is still in the family, even if John Laurinaitis is the interim GM of Raw. So, there is nothing there for the McMahon's to take back because they're already in control.

What if WWE and Edge worked out a storyline together and lied about his injury? It could be him and Lita reuniting on January 2nd.

I know it's far fetched but you never know.

Well, one thing's for sure...

It's not Kane.

For me, Taker is not the person behind this video. His videos usually are at night/in dark places, lightning, rain, graveyards, fire, etc. This is more of a psychological video, and while Taker can play mind games, would he do it with a comeback video? Doubt it, personally. To me, that leaves Jericho as the most likely option.

The new video really threw me, because it's put even more emphasis on 'her'. As much as thse videos scream Jericho to me, this video in my mind has to be for two people. More than that, the female seems to have control, or be in a higher position of power.

Is there anyone this fits? The only option I could realistically see as far as a male and a female go is if we have Taker and McCool. They could bring their relationship into something, change her into almost a 'DivaTaker' (horrible made up name, just an example), though this really would only depend on if Taker is sticking around, which I doubt. Plus, this would be pointless to do with Taker, and would probably end horribly, so while it's my own suggestion I do doubt it.

So, if a male and female would be returning, who would the diva be if it's Jericho. Other than Kharma (doubt it, really don';t think she'll be in any condition to be back by then), there isn't anyone obvious. The only person that springs to mind is Trish Stratus, but the connection between the two isn't obvious (they have history, both as allies and enemies, and also they're both Canadian, but that would be a HORRIBLE reason to band them together.)

I love it when the WWE does stuff like this. Because they've done it so well. I genuinely cannot say who it is. There are clues to Jericho, you could argue clues to Taker, but the truth is, there is nothing concrete, and I like it that way. I want a mark out moment I wasn't expecting. Kudos to WWE, and roll on Jan 2nd!

Yeah, the "she" thing threw me off as well. Although Stephanie bringing Jericho back is an ok option, somehow I don't think Jericho would want his return shadowed by anyone, he would want to make an impact alone - having the massive ego that he has...

Also, when someone mentioned Kevin Thorne in the previous page I remembered his gimmick as Mordecai. It couldn't be that because that gimmick never took off (unfortunately, in my view) and people wouldn't even remember it, but at least it matches the promos. Biblical references for a religious zealot-like character. But of course, that's not it.

I'm still hoping for a repackaging of the Jericho gimmick. No idea who this "she" could be though.

So you know for a fact Shane McMahon is so busy he couldn't come back and help the family business ? Your Shanes personal secretary ?.. There are no McMahons in control of " there family business ( story line wise ) Triple H had his power taken away , So its really not as far fetched as you would think . What other Male female combo could it be ? Your idea of a stephanie/ jericho union is way more far fetched
