I just got in and wanted to look to see if any matches had been made for tonight and I walk into this?!? Bloody hell....Chris Benoit is one of the last old-school guys around...was...and just...fuck. RIP dude.

As a lot of people have been saying, it is a very sad reflection on Vince that people even consider that this could be a work, but with his "Death" and the stuff they did to "throw" people about the RVD leaving stuff, it is almost credible.

RIP Chris Benoit, The Truest Champion of the Wrestling Industry had. This is such a loss I just found out and this moved me close to tears.

I'm absolutely gutted! Fantastic wrestler and above all else, came across as a fantastic, genuine, loving and humble person. Sad, sad day and Raw is gonna be a hard one to watch.

R.I.P Benoit, you will be sorely missed!

TMZ.com has been reporting updates since it broke out and the story is the first one on the page, as they are putting new stories below his.

Here is what they have now:

Breaking News:
WWE superstar Chris Benoit, 40, his wife Nancy and young son were found dead in their Atlanta home early this afternoon, this according to WWE.com.

No further details regarding the tragedy have been released. Benoit was scheduled to appear at a pay-per-view event last night ... WWE said that there was a "family emergency" that prevented him from being there.

Benoit, a former World Heavyweight Champ, wreaked havoc with his signature move, the "Crippler Crossface."

The incident comes on the heels of the shocking death of former WWE wrestler "Sensational" Sherri Martel, and the supposed "assassination" of WWE head honcho Vince McMahon. TMZ has learned that the WWE is scrapping all references to the McMahon death storyline on tonight's episode of "Raw.'

According to the official WWE website, tonight's "Raw" will serve as a tribute to the wrestling great.

Police are investigating the incident.

Oh my god... I just can't believe this. One night he's slated to win the ECW championship and gets called away on a family emergency... the next he and his family is found dead... I don't know what to say.

R.I.P. Chris Benoit. I truly can't believe this.

You will be missed.

wow...

for some reason, i came home today and i reallly wanted to see if there was anything new on wrestlezone. so i go to the website...and my heart stops. my jaw drops. it was like 100 percent total disbeleif. absolutley insane.

R.I.P. Chris Benoit, his wife, and son
you will be missed forever

Chris Benoit was a lot of things.
A father, a husband, a class act, a legend and a champion but i would also like classify him as rule-model as well. May You and family RIP and Thank You for letting us all enjoy your passion of the business we all love to watch.

Legends may die, but they are never forgotten

God Bless the Benoit Family

I still can't believe people are questioning whether this is genuine or not. Chris Benoit and his family have died. I've seen Chris wrestle on many occasions, I loved his feud with Y2J, WM20 was a great wrestling moment and the most heart-wrenching moment in all the time I've been a wrestling fan came when Benoit gave his tribute to Eddie.

Such a sad, tragic loss. RIP Crippler

I only saw Chris Benoit wrestle once live, January 23, 2005 in a house show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he wrestled Edge in a submission match, Benoit won w/ the Crossface, I am very sad to hear what happened to one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, this also brings up bad things, possible storylines revolving around Benoit, wrestlers saying that Benoit's in Hell, like Orton was told to say about Eddie.

We all know that Benoit is going into the HOF March 29th in Orlando, RIP Chris, Nancy, and Daniel.

I'm really starting to belive it's legit. WWE.com has pretty much dropped the whole Vince thing. It looks like a Benoit tribute website... I'm broken now...

I instantly thought murder, he had to rush home before vengence. Something terrible has happened. WWE should drop the who killed vince, it's just inapriot, Vince should make an appearence tonight on raw.

All I can say is that I can't believe what I just read. I'm totally shocked about this. Why is all I can help but ask right now. Chris Benoit was maybe the best pure wrestler of all time and to have this happen is just senseless. Whatever happened, I will never understand why it had to. Life sucks.

RIP Chris, Nancy, Daniel. Maybe one day we'll all get to see a Chris Benoit/Eddie Guerrero/Curt Hennig 3 way dance.

Rest in Peace Chris, you and your family. For you made me appreciate the art of wrestling. The scientific angle.

I will always remember you as my favorite of all time. RIP my friend...

no doubt that Bwenoit will be in HOF, but i wonder who will induct him? Mysterio, Chavo, doubt it, probably Malenko

PW Headlines stated that Benoit called in to WWE Sunday and said he would be unable to make it back as his family was ill and they were spitting up blood

because it isnt raw, its just a house show thats been canceled. (presumably so that the wrestlers can attend the tribute show)

The reason he stayed home Sunday was that his family was coughing up blood and they were very sick, Chris woudn't have been killed if he hadn't stayed home, but he had to, it was his duty and he was a family man and RIP Chris, he went out there every night for every single fan. I can't think of anything else to say.

Vince will make the announcement as Raw starts. After a while the WWE will take advantage of it, just like they did with Guerrero.. Its going to be interesting next week when the storylines continue what they do with Vince though. R.I.P. Benoit and Family. Tonight is your night.

I'm so shocked and bewildered right now that I don't know where to begin. This guy was definitely a one in a million performer that entertained me nonstop since I was still in middle school. I remember so many good moments and this whole situation is leaving me very numb as a diehard fan and proponent of The Crippler. Today, we fans of Mr. Benoit lost a legend. The whole situation sucks. There is not much positive light for me to shed right now other than to say thanks to Chris and that he and his family will be in my thoughts for quite some time. I guess sometimes what has been said about the brightest flames burning quickest holds true. I had actually grown tired of the wrestling scene and pretty much cut myself off of watching in these last couple of weeks, but if this Raw is dedicated to Chris, you bet your ass I'll be watching. Thanks for all the Mondays, Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you busted your ass in that ring. Even you're table scraps were better than most people's damndest efforts. Thanks, Chris. Say hi to Eddie and Owen for us.
