When he was with Kidd they did pretty well and had the crowd on their side. It's highly unfortunate that Kidd was injured just as they were getting a good head of steam up. Weren't they in line to feud for the tag titles again? I can't remember.
I agree. I remember thinking that they had the potential to be an all time great tag team which really made me happy as I'm a huge fan of both Cesaro and Kidd. When Kidd got hurt, I was honestly pretty upset as I thought that was Cesaro's last shot at becoming anything under Vince. Now kind of seems like it was.
No you're right I can't remember any relevant ongoing feud that they've put Cesaro in, but then that also applies to most of the roster. Very few are getting anything meaningful these days and that is telling. Yes Cesaro is on TV most weeks, but he is just sort of there. He comes out to a good pop, puts on a great match, loses and goes away again.
You're right again, but if we're looking at the past 3-4 years, the fact that Cesaro has yet to be put in a program with a true main eventer is telling. Whereas the crowd is apathetic to most of the roster, they've been behind Cesaro for a good long time with nothing to show for it. As one of the most over faces on the roster for the past while, you'd think he would get at least half of the opportunities that somebody like Jack Swagger has gotten over the years, no?
Cesaro has never really been given any kind of gimmick that suited him. It's like that have this great wrestler and can't think of anything to do with him. What a waste.
Which is another problem that I've harped on as well. The lack of discernible character for Cesaro makes it difficult for him to really connect with the larger audience. I need to know who Cesaro is and what he cares about before I can truly invest in him as WWEWHC to be honest. He needs a ton of more character progression but they won't give him the mic. It's a conundrum...
