Antiono cesaro "Gimmick Change"

So i think it will be interesting to discuss on many posts about gimmick changes,
so feel free to take this idea and make some posts of your own about what gimmick fits this wrestler the best, 1st comes to mind for me is mister cesaro!
a great wrestler so interesting in the ring, but his gimmicks have not been good.
cesaro remains me of wade barrett both are great wrestlers. but wwe wont push either. i think cesaro needs a new gimmick. what gimmick would u give antiono cesaro. i think he should have a biker gimmick, leather jacket, a more aggresive mode side, and maybe even a girl manager to be his biker chick maybe even aksana his ex. so what would u give antino cesaro?

I think people want to cheer for him. I'd do a cocky face kind of thing, similar to Brett Hart's "Excellence in Execution". Have him acknowledge that he has skill and strength and he is just awesome. Let him pander to the crowd with his Big Swing and let him use the equally impressive UFO. Have him feud with Ryback as a Bully, and it might even turn him face.

That is just a ridiculous and boring idea. You seriously want to give him Chuck Palumbo's gimmick?? That's a waste of Antonio Cesaro's talents to gimmick him up like that.

He's fine the way he is. Ever since they dumped the Rugby aspect of his character, he's been great. He's a classy foreign guy that wants so hard to make it in America, but he hates it that the audience keeps rejecting him just because he's foreign.

Cesaro's current gimmick is fine, just we haven't seen enough of it. Swagger, Cesaro and Coulter should get more exposure because these two are very useful superstars. As it stands they are in a tag-team but individually they can go further and the "Real American" gimmick is fantastic way of doing that.

I think a gimmick change would benefit Cesaro. I've got no problem with Cesaro having a mouthpiece. I think that he MIGHT be okay if he's really given a chance and is allowed to ultimately do something that seems to fit him well. Coulter is a good mouthpiece for Cesaro but, again, the "Real American" bit just doesn't seem to fit.

In my opinion, the best thing to do with Cesaro is to just keep things simple. Simplicity is the way to go sometimes. Cesaro is someone whose genuinely passionate and tough. He wrestled for months with a couple of broken fingers if I'm not mistaken. People can rally behind someone like that, a tough guy with passion wanting to prove & show how good he can be. Cesaro has consistently shown brilliance and great athletic ability inside the ring, but I think people can sense that his characters thus far just don't seem to fit him well. When he debuted, he came off as the arrogant foreign heel who belittled Americans. This might just be me but, from my point of view, he's someone who just doesn't radiate the kind of cocky, smug arrogance needed for the role. It also doesn't help that it's a character that's pretty dated. Currently, as a "Real American", it just seems strange to see an immigrant, albeit a legal one, associate with two natural born xenophobes who started out being against immigration altogether.

I think that a good amount of people do wanna cheer for Cesaro and with a simple babyface character who is tough, determined, courageous and has his in-ring ability could go much further. I'm not saying it'll take him all the way to the main event, but I think there's a possibility if he lets that aggression and that passion shine through in promos.

Cesaro could be a very cocky heel. He's soo powerful and evn with colter and swagger he could pull this off while being with the real Americans. He can talk a little as we've already seen before but let his ring work do the talking

Sam brought this up in another thread and it's a good point. Cesaro's wrestling style makes you want to cheer for him. People want to see the uppercut, the swing, the neutralizer, etc. He fits the mold of Bret and Benoit. Guys people love to see wrestle.

I say at this point turn him face. I've mentioned this before, but he can cut promos in several different languages which means several different ways to hurl insults at your opponent, people will pop for his moves, he has all the physical tools required to succeed, etc. He is still trying to find his character but it's simple, he's the Swiss Superman.

That wasn't his problem... they gave the gimmick to the wrong guy, they have Mason Ryan - a Welshman which is a massive Rugby nation and fit the "kicked out of the leauge" and physical type of a Rugby player... or a Swiss guy who looks like his first scrum would snap him.

Cesaro needs Kings Of Wrestling... WWE Needs Kings Of Wrestling but as ever they won't push something that they didn't create... so short sighted. The division needs a dedicated, specialist team that isn't 2 thrown together guys or ones just waiting to move up the card. Kings can be those guys... but it won't ever happen.

Cesaro has suffered the same fate as Barrett with the multiple gimmick changes in a short period of time, from his Frenchie Martin character to this current one line gimmick that makes no real sense, none of them have taken and I think they missed a huge chance when they made Axel the new Heyman Guy instead of him.

At this point I tend to agree that fans want to cheer him given how spectacular his move-set is and his awesome displays of power. I'd have Colter and Swagger go too far, maybe start bullying Lilian, and Cesaro stops them so they attack him. I actually think Cesaro vs Swagger could provide some good matches and be Cesaro's launch point for a face run.

If the E had faith in Thwagger to not be a fuck up, I'd like to see him branch off for the US title and see Chrisassius Herohno brought in to tag with Cesaro. The chemistry the two had as a team in ROH cannot be taught. I'd do a whole angle where, again, if they could stay healthy Yosemite Sam's new team could feud with a team of Rey Cara.

I love Cesaro's in-ring work just as much as the next guy, and although I don't think he is in need of a gimmick change, I do feel that something is missing. Maybe it is the titles. The "Real American" gimmick might gain a little more strength with the WWE Tag Titles around their waist. I can't exactly put my finger on it but the gimmick just feels weak. Personally, foreigner gimmicks, like Cesaro's, never really caught on to be a strong, heel gimmick. It has to be more than "Hate me because I speak multiple languages, which makes me better than you." I have to have a legitimate reason to not like you. Antonio has the look, the talent, experience and potential to be a future World Champion, but with a lukewarm start like this I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. This current Real Americans team will prosper (with the right competition). After they have a couple of reigns as Champions, assuming that they don't become stale, they will split or fade apart, and I feel that Cesaro will be exactly where he was before the team.

Honestly, he would probably be more interesting down in NXT with Kassius Ohno, reforming Kings Of Wrestling and facing The Ascension.
