Ya, WWE is with me...
- CM Punk has been mentioned as a potential opponent for Brock Lesnar but there is concern among WWE officials as to whether it would be an equal match-up due to their difference in size. Lesnar is seen as a "beast" whereas Punk is considered relatively skinny for a top level WWE Superstar. Furthermore, management wants Lesnar's programs to be box office bonanzas and Punk is seen at best fifth in the pecking order, behind The Rock, John Cena, Triple H and Undertaker. There is also concern over Punk's appearance backstage; he has been described as walking around looking like he just walked out of a car accident. Officials notice this as he often walks around backstage with a heat pack or an ice pack in tow and generally looks beaten and battered.

"Concern among WWE officials..."

Nowhere in that article does it mention, "WWE officials don't believe Punk could realistically beat Brock Lesnar," it says they are concerned about whether they'd match up and as a majority of this thread has agreed, looking at Punk's opponents in the past he very much does. That doesn't mean it wouldn't happen or if they're more pro than con on the idea. So no, WWE does not agree with you.

As per the part where CM Punk is seen as hurt, he looked fine at Wrestlemania, took genuine punishment in that match though, especially when his back hit the mat and he suffered what appeared like a nasty whiplash. And even then, if CM Punk was told "We're going to take the title off you" or "We don't feel like you should face Lesnar, cause you appear hurt" knowing him he'd probably blow up about it.

Punk vs. Lesnar would be solid as shit. As long as they don't have Lesnar absolutely annihilate punk, it probably works for both guys in the long run.

The entire point of professional wrestling is that the "fighting" moves they use are kayfabe much worse than conventional fighting tactics, which is what Brock Lesnar has been doing for the past decade. In the world of WWE, a GTS is much stronger than a regular knee to the face. In the same way a WMD is stronger than a regular knockout punch.

Except it is the opposite when it comes to submissions, which certainly doesn't help Punk's case.
