Bullshit about Movies

You got some 'xplaining to do in the Movies section, mon frere. Do a review of The Lookout, and convince me why I should take another look at it, por favor.

I plan on doing a 'Top Ten Movies of this Decade' soon and it'll be on the list. Each movie that is I'll give a full review, not just a paragraph, explaining its greatness.

Ninja Cheeleaders is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, just because it is so awful. Plus, George Takei is in it.

I'm thinking it's time I learned more about Claire Denis and Satyajit Ray. I plan on watching their films for the next few days. What so you, jmt225? Also, have you watched La Haine yet? If you liked American History X, something tells me you're going to love that bad boy.

I'm really looking forward to the Ichi the Killer review. I already knew the basics of Audition, but you've hyped Ichi enough to make me really interested.

Not yet, but I want to really badly. Unfortunately, it's fucking Criterion Collection, so the DVD is expensive as fuck, but I'll eventually get it.

And Claire Danes, huh? Watch Home for the Holidays, if you can. Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic in that one. Also, if you've never seen the show My So-Called Life, the complete series is on DVD for $35. That is well worth the money, man. Great fucking show.

And did you ever see Flowers in the Attic, Tdigs? I just got done writing a review, and I wasn't a fan at all. What are your thoughts on it? Same question for you X when you get back on.

Claire Denis...she's an art-house French filmmaker.

I think I saw Flowers In The Attic when I was a kid (I remember the cover vividly). Since I don't remember it, it couldn't have been that good. It has Louise Fletcher in it, right?

MSCL = Greatness. Absolute greatness.

Flowers in the Attic, haven't seen it in years, don't remember very much about it. I know the whole story and all that, but it's been years since I've seen the film, and I've never read the novel.

Oh and Murf, get on your shit and see Ichi the Killer. Simply a masterpiece. Locate Audition as well, fantastic film despite what TDigs will tell you. A modern horror classic.

You're the the shit-diggity, tdigs.

You might want to refrain from make the shell post for a movie before you post the review. If you put it in a new post, the thread will appear more often in the new posts section.

Do you want us to post reactions in those threads?

Most definitely, I encourage people to post in the threads.

I watched the Tyson Doc. tonight... it was fucking brilliant.

I would do a full review, but it's hard to review a documentary. Just take my word for it that it's phenomenal and everyone should check it out.

Besides, I think choosing to do my report on Mike Tyson every February for Black History Month all throughout late elementary, middle, and high school worn me out from writing long bits of information about him. :lmao:

And that's really true by the way. I always did a report on Mike Tyson whenever we had to do one for a prominent black figure in the history of our country. I just loved the guy growing up, and still do to this day.

Oh and Tdigs, I will post my thoughts on Ichi and Audition sometime this weekend in your Miike thread. :)

I keep seeing commercials for The Informers on DVD...The cast looks pretty solid. Why have I not heard of this before?

I've actually got The Informers on my laptop right now, but I think I'll go out and rent/buy it. I'm sad that it wasn't playing anywhere near my town when it was in theaters.

Have you seen it yet JMT? My inner BEE fanboy is salivating at the prospects! The BEE fans I've talked to have all said it's very good.

Not yet. I'm either going to wait for pay-per-view or until the price of the DVD goes down. But as much as I love Ellis and The Informers, this isn't something I'm in a rush to see.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it though.

If you haven't seen Halloween 2 yet (but plan on it), it is a HUGE disappointment. I'd wait for it to come out on DVD. Rob Zombie may have taken his career a step or two back with this one. This re-imagined franchise is now as good as dead.

Watched The Apartment today. Great movie until the end. I HATED the ending.

But I had no idea going into it that this was the movie Wicker Park was based off of. I remember thinking while watching the movie (The Apartment) that it reminded me of something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. When I read Wicker Park did an American remake of it, it surprised the fuck out of me. I'm going to have to watch Wicker Park again and compare the two. I saw it when it was first released, but that was a long time ago and I don't remember shit from it, so it'll be like watching it for the first time. Hopefully the ending goes a different direction than The Apartment, because that shit sucked, and was illogical plus depressing.

A full review may be coming in the Movies and Television Section.

I watched Baghead earlier. Very strange but enjoyable film. Very strange though, an odd mixture of comedy, horror, and drama. Very surprising but very enjoyable. Great indie film.
