Bullshit about Movies

You stole Mer-man's coveted 1,000th post, and Will has horrible taste in movies, although he works in a video store. I'm pretty sure Murfish will let your transgression slide eventually.

All right, here are the bad boys I have lined up for the rest of the week:

Five Deadly Venoms
Hardware
Zabriskie Point
Dobermann
Malena
Opera

Absolutely love this. Only seen it once, and it was well over 10 years ago, but there's some stuff I remember vividly, like the iron maiden scene.

Well I'm about to go see Funny People. I'll let you guys know what I thought when I get back.

Just came back. Funny People wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be, but it was still very, very good. I think I'll write up a proper review for my review thread (which I've been totally slacking on for about a week+ now).

Everyone was great though. The back-and-forth between Hill, Schwartzman, and Rogen was pitch perfect, and my god Aubrey Plaza is simply stunning.

500 Days of Summer was awesome. :)

I expected somewhere between mediocrity and good from Funny People, so I was pleasantly surprised.

I'd go see (500) Days of Summer, but I don't feel like driving 45 minutes away. I hear it's good, but is it 45-minute drive good?

I made a 35 minute drive to the 'local' indy theater on one of the most annoying roads in existence. I thought that was well worth it, so yes.

The nearest theater to me is about 10 minutes away.

Killin natzi's. soon.

Cant wait for that shit.

X: I didn't really enjoy Funny People. It had its moments and you could tell it was one of those touchy-feely type movies for the most part, but in the end it just felt awkward. That and it really didn't need to be 2.5 hours long.

Has anyone else seen this bad boy?

I had heard rave reviews about it for a long time, but I still don't know what to think of it 24 hours removed from watching it (this is probably a sign of its greatness in my eyes). Anyway, I wasn't hot on this director's other film (Dust Devil), and, at the very least, I found Hardware to be a much more satisfying experience.

Has anyone here heard of Maladolescenza? I've never been able to find out whether or not it's banned here in the US (it has simulated sex between young teenagers); but, Pretty Baby showed a fully-nude, 12 year-old Brooke Shields, and that's legal here. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm fairly certain it's legal in the US Tdigs. The only place you could probably find it online are sites like iOffer though. Not exactly a readily available film.

Am I allowed to call you a filthy pervert now?

Has anyone here seen A Scanner Darkly? I saw it once, about a year ago. I remember the story from it, but not too much else. I'm thinking about giving it a second viewing, to see what I missed the first time, but don't know if I want to sit through it again...
