Batista 3-Disc DVD????

I give them credit.. but damn. He hasn't really had a spectacular career. If it's a biography type one like Cena's My Life then I can see it. But if it's all of Batista's 'Amazing matches' then i'll pass.

JBL has never even worked a decent match with Dave which is another reason why I can not understand how this made the DVD. I reckon this match and all the matches they had should had stayed off this DVD.

False. JBL and Batista owned the Raw main-event scene through the summer and early fall of last year. I laughed about these matches very often, and thus, I would consider them to be highly entertaining.

This also led to many funny conversations with NorCal about JBL's and Batista's ancestors having medieval main-events. Being able to relive this would be reason enough to buy the DVD. Alas, these matches are not included. :(

To me this seems like it is way too early for WWE to be releasing this sort of DVD. I mean for crying out loud a 3 disc set? How can they do this when legends like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man and The Undertaker get 3 disc sets and they all have well storied careers. I mean look at the fact that Ric Flair's career along could span anywhere up to a 20 disc set. Would anyone be willing to sit there through those 20 discs maybe but no WWE releases a 3 disc set for Flair and fills it with only some of his most memorable matches.

To be very honest I think that WWE is just trying to cash in and keep Batista fresh in our minds so that when he does return the crowd will not have forgotten him and then WWE wont have to rebuild him as a character.

it comes out on my birthday aswell but for me its kind of a toss up on if i should by it im aussi i will order it but anyway can someone convice me to buy and tell what other stuff they will have in it lol. batista prob said if edge has dvd out about his career then i should to lol (i have the edge dvd not bad)

For my first reply in these forums, the way I see it is that I feel that Batista's 7 and half year career in the WWE ain't cut out to have a "3-Disc DVD", at least not yet. Veterans like Chris Jericho, Christian, and even Big Show should have 3-Disc DVDs. To me, it's too early for Batista to have that privilege whereas Veterans and Legends normally get.

I think a lot of people have a jaded opinion of Batista because of his appearance, and coupled with the fact that he's been on top for a few years now, the IWC tends to not like the guy.

But, there's something about Batista that makes him "bring it" in big match scenarios, and he's been in a lot of big matches. Definitely enough to fill 3 DVDs. If the first DVD is the Documentary and some OVW stuff, then the other 2 discs could easily be filled.

Will I buy this? No, I won't. But it's tough to argue that he hasn't had a good or memorable career, because as much as some might hate it, he has.

Man, there issome serious vitrol directed at this guy!! I personally like Batista, he has never had a reputation as a guy who dogs it in big matches, he's never had a rep as a guy who wont put over other talent or refuse to lose on big shows, and he's never had a rep as a guy who's a prick to undercard talent or careless with moves in the ring. He's got an imposing look, a solid character that can convincingly be either a good guy or bad guy, and is good (maybe not great) on the mic. Why don't ppl like this guy ?

Now I do think a 3DVD set on a guy who has only been around 7yrs and lets be honest, he's missed a lot of time with injuries during that span, it's not 7 solid yrs of main event wrestling, is a bit much. Yes Hogan and Savage got sets like that but look at their careers. Flair got two three DVD sets but look at his career. I wouldn't have a problem with Batista getting a single DVD set, maybe 7-9 top matches, some promos/backstage vignettes, and have him serve as host, talking about his career and the matches. A two DVD set might be pushing it unless you had a documentary style look at his career on one set (which again, you've only been around 7 yrs).

There are guys, particularly Big Show, who have had lots of important matches over a much longer time that deserve at least a two DVD set. Bottom line, I like Batista, but three DVD's is too much.

Having a Batista 3 disc set, despite only being with the company for 7 years, and if you're to subtract the time he's taken off because injuries, how many solid years does he have of in ring work? I would say 5 years.

I think WWE putting out a dvd of a star who only has 5 years of in ring performance, is just another indication of them showing that they're going into a new direction.

No longer will they have to wait for a star to retire, or be close to retirement, for them to put what I feel is like a tribute to the guy.

We all criticize WWE, but you know what, at the end of the day, they're freakin smart and they know what they're doing.

Im not sure when exactly is Batista back in action, but if its in the fall season what a coincidence his dvd comes out at this exact same time. WWE capitalizes on anything and timing is crucial.

Amazing, Batista gets a 3 disc set yet we are still wait for guys like Jericho, Terry Funk, Steamboat, etc., Jerichos DVD would be worth it for his WCW and early WWE work alone, Steamboat would be great just because I know there are prolly a shit load of great matches from this guy out there that I have never seen, and Funk is simply just amazing I have no doubt in my mind that the guy could easily fill a 3 disc set with the matches he's had throughout his career, plus it would educate many wrestling fans who only know him for his Hardcore style, I think every danm one of these guys are far far more worthy of a 3 disc set than some fuckstick jackass like Batista, there is not a single match on that entire set that I either don't have on another DVD, or can't find on youtube that's worth watching again, and WWE documentary's are the most one sided loads of crap I have ever seen, if I really gave a shit about Batistas life I'd get off my ass and go find his book

While some people may not like the notion of a 3 disc Batista DVD, the fact is there is enough material to fill 3 discs (Cena has been around roughly the same time as Batista and already has 2 DVDs) and to be honest some of his PPV matches are actually quite entertaining in my opinion. The man, while not a personal favourite of mine, is one of the WWE's top stars and does have a lot of fan interest (maybe not on WZ) but there are people out there who will buy and probably enjoy the DVD. I think it could be okay, if nothing else for the documentary on his life. However, I would agree that a Jericho release, for example, would have been prefered over Batista's...although, you can't help but feel this release is to give Batista something to do while he's out injured.

I'm glad he's getting his DVD set- he's been a big asset to the company for the past 4 years.

Christian probably won't get his own 3 DVD set- Vince doesn't like him that much.

How can you be against Batista getting a DVD set when they gave the Hardyz a set? Let's look at Jeff. Yes, he's been in the WWE for a long time, but the majority of that has been as a nobody. Then he spent years in the tag team division, went single for a while, and then left the WWE for a few years before he came back. Meanwhile. Batista came here as a "bodyguard", then joined EVOLUTION (no doubt the top stable of this decade), and became a 5-time world champion. Think about it, 7 years is pretty impressive. Almost a decade. Most stars don't last that long in the WWE (Kennedy, Lesnar, Goldberg, Umaga, Boogeyman).

And for people who want a DVD of Big Show, he hasn't accomplished much in the WWE. If you haven't noticed, he got bashed pretty hard for being in the WM25 main event. Batista has been much more successful in the WWE than Big Show.

And for people who want a DVD of Big Show, he hasn't accomplished much in the WWE.

Excuse me?

World Wrestling Federation / World Wrestling Entertainment
ECW World Heavyweight Championship (1 time)[68][104]
WWE United States Championship (1 time)[105]
WWF/E Championship (2 times)[106]
WWF Hardcore Championship (3 times)[107]
WWE Tag Team Championship (1 time, current) - with Chris Jericho
WWF/E World Tag Team Championship (4 times, current)[108] – with The Undertaker (2), Kane (1) and Chris Jericho (1)

Plus, add his WCW championship wins and WCW World War 3 win.

Anyways, why does Batista have a 3 disc DVD set when he spent a lot of time being injured? And if Will's (or whoever quoted that list) list is correct, only a little handful are good enough watching. The rest are like shit, and I've already seen some of that shit.

Exactly Nicholas. All you did was quote 12 title reigns, only 3 of them being World titles. The rest are tag-team/middle card titles. There's no doubt how good he was in WCW, but I said WWE success. Plus his 3 World titles reign weren't even that long. The guy has been boring in the WWE. And Batista has a 3 disc DVD set because WWE wants him to have one. Just because you don't wanna buy it doesn't mean other people don't want to.

not a big fan of batista but i will still buy it i own all of the dvd's, but he doesn't deserve a dvd set yet, not with jericho, and probably big show, who has been with the company longer

Fair Enough that WWE want to give Batista a dvd but 3 discs i mean come on he did'nt get his push until he was like 3 years into his carer then held that title for 2005 after WM21. Since then hes held the WHC 3 times and the WWE Belt once the other time hes out with injury. I mean HHH got a dvd in 2008 which was only 2 discs and his carer was then 13 years long and it skipped alot of stuff on disc 2 like the Goldberg fued the Beniot fued so they then go from HHH and Shawn Micheals 2002 to HHH and Batista. Maybe this is a sign that Daves carer is at the end either they will release him which is unlikely or hes said hes gonna leave in the future i mean he missed alot of 2009 and its like he filled the void for when HHH came back it was like Batista got injured again that very night HHH came back. Anyway im not a fan of Dave but hes been a big part of WWE and i respect him for that. Whats next WWE make a 3 disc DVD Set for Jeff Hardy whos come into the main event scene in the past 12 months
