Backstage News on The Rock Winning the WWE Title, Issues WWE Is Facing

WWE officials are faced with two issues right now as far as The Rock winning the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble goes.

One is that The Rock winning the WWE Title will mean there are no WWE Title defenses at any live events for a three-month period.

They will also have to work out with The Rock whether or not he will be available for the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and whether they want him to work that event. Those details may have already been worked out as it was a topic largely talked about among some of the WWE talents this past week.

It's coming down to the wire in terms of needing to have a set plan and commitments to dates considering the hectic movie promotion schedule Rock has in early 2013.

With the challenges they are facing, it's said that nothing has changed - the plan is still for The Rock to win the WWE Title at Royal Rumble, from CM Punk, and main event at WrestleMania 29, possibly against John Cena.

Do you guys honestly think he's worth it with all these scheduling issues?

Absolutely.

Who gives a shit about title defenses at house shows? Everyone knows the title won;t change hands anyway.

Why do they even need the WWE Title for Rock/Cena II to happen? Just have Cena cost Rock the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble and the match is set. Rock/Cena II will sell like crazy on it's own.

Whoever wins the Royal Rumble (assuming it's not Cena and they go onto face Punk for the WWE Championship at WM) could use the title win more than The Rock. How over would he be if he were the one to end Punk's streak at Wrestlemania?

From my own personal stance no.
1. I don't care for Rocky.
2. I don't want to hear Cena cut promo's for three months about how this is the biggest match of his career and it's his destiny and all that stuff.

From a business stance yes. It will sell. Even though last year was billed as "Once In A Lifetime" and all that people are still going to pay to see it again.

This story sounds like more planted horseshit. Sounds like they are just trying to create doubt that Rock will win the title at RR.

If they really didn't think of these things when they booked the match they deserve to be fired. This is either a planted story or a conversation between the pyrotechnic guys and the lighting guys that the dirt sheets took to print. Either way I'm an asshole for reading this shit.

It seems like another common sense guessing game story from whoever the fuck writes this shit. Masters of the fucking obvious, wrestling reporters.

Here are the steps:

1. What's the most logical, expected course of events?
2. Answer that question.
3. Write article, acting as though what you have just written is backstage gossip instead of common fucking sense bullshit anyone could've written.

Mhmm.

Well at this point if they are no longer considering Streak vs. Streak for the WWE Championship: CM Punk(c) vs. The Undertaker, which is the match I would most like to see, the I think WWE almost HAS to go with Undertaker/Lesnar & a triple threat for the WWE Title.

While most might think I'm an idiot for saying this, I thought Rock vs. Cena at Mania 28 was very sub-par. The match was nothing special for their year long build and didn't even come close to the HiaC or WWE title matches at Mania 28 IMO. I don't see what Cena/Rock II, even if it is for the title, does for anyone.

I think if WWE wants Cena & Rocky in the ring together for the title & they have already scrapped Taker/Punk, why not have Punk retain at the rumble only to face the challenge of a lifetime & face both Cena & Rock at Mania 29 for the title?!?! That way WWE could put the title on Rock at the biggest show of the year & have him drop it to someone prior to Extrme Rules, meaning very few missed WWE title dates. It makes alot more sense to me than Punk just losing to Rock at the rumble. It gives WWE a full time champion leading into the biggest PPV of the year (who would have accumulated a much longer streak at that point) & they still have Rocky in the main event with his picture everywhere & have him promoting his heart out.

lol exactly. It's hard to read.

And yes, Rock/Cena II is most definitely worth it in just about every way imaginable. Although we all know Cena will win.

Barrel of sunshine, that's what you are. Not that you're wrong, you're dead on, but I just get a kick out of pointing out how miserable you seem when you post things like this.

The Rock is just a roundabout way to put the strap on Cena without having to do Cena-Punk yet again.

Of course, if the The Rock is to be around more in 2013, as various reports say, a lengthy Cena-Rock feud could be fun.

On another, totally unrelated note, I'm hoping Lesnar re-signs and turns face to feud with Punk. That would be a ball of fun.

According to his IMDb page, the Rock has 7 film projects in various stages of production set for 2013, I highly doubt we'll be seeing much of good ol' Dwayne beyond WM29.

I'm having this feeling that WWE might swerve us and not put the title on Rocky at RR. All these "reports" are saying The Rock is 100% walking out of RR as the champ and also how mostly everyone thinks Rock is defiantly winning.
