Another tournament idea

FromTheSouth

You don't want it with me.
We have a tournament for every section except my beloved Cigar Lounge.

Would anyone get behind a days that shook the world tournament?

We could list 32 days that changed the course of human history (documented events that show up in the historical record as fact beyond a shadow of a doubt) from say, 1400 to the present day. Before this, fact and myth seem to intertwine, and we get King Aurthur stories, multiple religious icons who may or may not have existed.

We could have 9/11, 7/7, Pearl Harbor, Columbus discovering the west, the formation of the EU, etc.

I say we send out some PM's for seeding and nomination and take the top 32.

We could give a brief excerpt describing the event and let the debate and voting commence.

FTS, this is an awesome idea. I do think 9/11 will sweep significantly, due to recency, relevancy, and how that day has DIRECTLY effected everyone on the boards far more than Pearl Harbor, the dropping of the atomic bomb, even the Emancipation Proclamation.

Yes I like it! 9/11 will probably win in a clean sweep, but others would include the tsunami, pearl harbor, good ol' columbus discovering shit and of course 25/05/05

Yes, Liverpool winning the European Cup on penalties of course ranks alongside 9/11. [/sarcasm]

Excellent idea. I'm backing September 3rd 1939. And December 31 1987.

Do it when videogames finishes. I'll give you a hand if you need it.

Emancipation Proclamation didn't actually do much.

I'm down for the Chicago's Colombian Exposition (more than one day).
