Yes Sin Cara is barely starting in the WWE and compare to Rey Mysterio he is not as popular. However in Mexico, Mistico is HUGE.
When he signed with the WWE it was nation-wide news. All the sports programs talked about it.
Yes, Rey Mysterio is also billed as a Mexican wrestler but Sin Cara/Mistico was actually born in Mexico so that is why it became bigger news.
By having Sin Cara on the cover they will sell more copies just because of it.

Was never huge a fan of Lesnar so not too fussed about him being included although I liked him enough to certainly play as him every once in a while. I am more excited about some of the other legends including like Legion Of Doom and Vader. Also glad Goldust and William Regal are still being included.

I am so fucking pumped for the return of Brock Lesnar!!! I wonder if they will give him his classic WWE look or the modern-day Lesnar with the sword tattoo on his stomach?

I recently rewatched the "Here Comes The Pain" DVD with Brock facing 'Taker in the HIAC. I totally forgot how badly 'Taker bled in that match, and Lesnar literally threw Undi' up in the air and caught him on his shoulders for an F-5. It was incredible. Man, I wish Brock was still wrestling!

With the addition of Kevin Nash, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Vader, Austin, Rock and more, plus all the current WWE main eventers like Punk, Cena, Orton and HHH this roster is looking one of the best of all time. With several spots still available, I wonder who else is going to be announced?

I am really hoping for Y2J-era Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall and X-Pac (so I can have a Kliq faction) with Scott Hall having Razor Ramon attire as a secondary costume. The 3 faces of Foley would be pretty cool too, and Chyna or Lita would be sweet as well.

Makes sense to me.
1) Bret Hart was on last years cover in Canada. May as well cater to people in their home country. Next year we'll see Sheamus on the over of the Irish edition.
2) Sin Cara has been receiving a big push since his arrival. With Mysterio injured and career coming to a close, it's clear WWE needs to look to the future. They've always been good at that (instead of focusing on the older stars). I can't deny Mysterio's huge star power in Mexico but Sin Cara is their star in their tour of Mexico. It just makes sense to put their major draw on the tour on the cover of the latest game.

Very doubtful you will see Sheamus on the cover of the Irish edition. He is from the South which has a small population. Are we going to see Khali on the cover of the Indian edition? Santino on the Italian cover? Nope.

Wrestling is big in Canada and especially Mexico. It makes sense for them to have their own front covers.

With Eddie in it too I'm really looking forward to the countless times I'm gonna play Eddie Vs Brock for the WWE title. I just hope they have the old title from the "Ruthless Aggression" Era in the game.

Do you think this is right considering that Mysterio is a Veteran and even ADR is now a 2 Time WWE Champion do you think any of them should have been chosen for the cover. I personally do not think it is right but granting Misticos legacy in Mexico maybe it is.

That is exactly it and thus this thread is void, Mistico is a huge name in the Mexican wrestling market, thats why they snapped him up in the first place.

It makes sense to me because Sin Cara is a character they are trying to push heavily as a future star and putting him on a video game cover is a pretty big deal. I could see the argument for adding Del Rio or Mysterio too, but I like the Sin Cara cover. Mysterio will not be around forever and Del Rio is a heel so fans aren't meant to like him anyway. Sin Cara is getting over and things like this will only help him. Then there is his legacy in Mexico from when he was Mistico....

Rey, Sin Cara and Alberto Del Rio should be on it. But to be honest, does it really matter who they put on the cover? The games just gonna be the same as the other versions.

Yes, it does. It actually matters quite a bit due to the fact that the whole point of video game covers is to help promote an image alongside the game. The same can be said for cover artwork on a musical album or a promotional poster for a movie. These images are intended for fans to associate with the product. This was WWE's way of telling fans in Mexico that they want them to associate Sin Cara with their product. He was chosen OVER both Mysterio and Del Rio for this. It is a good opportunity for him and can only lead to better things for his character. Even when a game has multiple covers, it actually becomes a BIGGER deal. When someone/something is chosen to be on an alternate cover it is meant to be associated with that product to a specific group.

In terms of gameplay will it matter? Not a single bit. However, in terms of marketing will it matter? More than you could ever think.

I'm not that fussed on Lesnar. The guy's a fighter, not a theatrical performer, and wrestling should be focussed on the latter. Still, people are going crazy over him so he must be doing something right.

I will be playing with all the midcarders anyway. One of the first things I'll do is go into Superstar Threads and make Sin Cara Negro.

Maybe not, but he did have those tattoos when he wrestled in New Japan against Angle for the IWGP championship... which is still one of the best damn matches I've seen in a long time.

Personally, I could really care less about Lesnar being in the game because if you ask me, he's the biggest sell out to wrestling than anybody that's ever laced up a pair of boots... I mean Lashley is a close second, but he's nothing but a wannabe Lesnar anyway. The only reason Lesnar being in this game is a good thing is so that I can job his ass out to Santino... and maybe even Darren Young.

Anyway all legends announced now are mute considering the fact that they had already announced Eddie, Rock, and Demolition.
