A Sting Theory

This could easily sound like 2+2=5, and I've been quite simplistic in my description, but here it is...

When Vince returned the other week, he specifically mentioned his victory over WCW. Last night, Haitch went on a rant over WCW being an asylum.

Are these small preludes to a Sting run with Haitch in the New Year?

I don't know why but I can't help but agree with you about Sting here. Something in my head is telling me Sting can debut. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I recall WWE talked about various wrestlers that have debuted at Survivor Series in the past. I.E The Shield and Rock. Can Sting debut at this years Survivor Series? If he does debut who would he feud against? I would like to see Triple H take him on.

Sting versus Triple H is something that I had never thought about before. But now that you have put it into my train of thought, it's pretty much all I can think about!

Honestly, my whole thought process around Sting possibly having a match at WrestleMania has been in regards to The Undertaker. But given Sting's history and his aversion to authority, it's entirely possible. In fact, I'd really like to see that.

I've been pushing for Sting-HHH for a while. I haven't watched much Raw lately but for the end of the show but you make a really good point. It is highly unlikely for HHH and Vince or anyone to mention WCW in a Raw segment. Especially in 2014. Sure we get advertisements mentioned regarding DVDs for sale or Network programs but for Vince and HHH to just casually mention WCW makes me think that there is something up. Sting would be the logical conclusion. Good point.

I was just thinking about the idea of Sting versus HHH last night while reading that idea someone had yesterday for Sting's debut. I didn't realize it until then, but I have no interest in seeing Undertaker/Sting anymore. They're both too old for me to care about that match and the novelty of that one has already wore off.

I don't watch Raw much anymore these days but OP's examples sound exactly like the kind of hints WWE would usually drop to lead into an eventual Sting/HHH match. Trips is an old school name who's still physically capable of a decent match without risking brain damage to himself, and let's face it-- he's going to be in your co-main event at WrestleMania whether you like it or not.

Soooo....... *whispering* I hope you're right.

I would prefer to see Sting against Triple H, Think it would be a great match hope its more than a one time deal love to see him back even on a ppv only basis.

Sting vs. HHH is way more promising to me in terms of a decent match. I think Sting is probably in better physical condition than Taker... Undertaker would be a good draw and is a WrestleMania main stay, I just don't see Sting's reasoning for fighting the Undertaker other than it's the guy he wants to wrestle... Undertaker has been pushing it in the ring for a while now. If the money was right, I can see Sting taking on Triple H with his Crow gimmick. That is something I would actually be interested in.

Right after RAW I was creeping through the website and stumbled upon this post and I started to see that you might be on to something here. Now I might just be reaching but if you guys recall there was a part of the show where the announcers pretty much asked who would be in charge after Survivor Series if Team Cena won? Well if we add that with all the WCW mentions then who other than The Icon Sting to run the show. This could lead to a Triple H vs Sting match which would be SWEEET!!!

I wouldn't object, I hated when all the talk was Sting/Taker because it didn't seem promising. But Trips can still work a match better than most guys and his style would help keep Sting intact I think. Maybe team Authority wins at Survivor Series, and it can lead to a match at Wrestlemania Sting/HHH. If Sting wins: the Authority is over, if Trips wins: Sting can never go in the Hall of Fame? I'd be down for that

It's too early to tell; WCW does get mentioned now and then. For now I'm chalking it up to coincidence.

Undertaker is on the WM31 truck, was giving fans the cryptic "never say never" at a recent meet and greet, and well, hasn't announced his retirement. WWE.com has teased Sting/Undertaker a million times, so I think that's what they're going with. The foundation for Triple H/Rock was clearly laid several weeks ago in a promo featuring both men.

HHH vs The Rock retread would be the worst thing ever!
I'd much rather see Rocky put Rollins over or something, even if the kid has to lose. Would do much more than give us one last look at a great rivalry that can do nothing but degrade it. There is zero chance of Trips and Rocky putting on a match even in the same stratosphere as their old encounters.

Sting vs. HHH (or tag match?) Daniel Bryan OR Cena and Sting vs. HHH and Rollins are both great options for the Stinger.

Also...even though the match has no promise....the promo war between Undertaker and Sting would be exceptional and the ring entrances alone would put it over the top as an "event"

Yes, the WCW angle is perfect and makes the most sense since Day 1.

Can't just have Sting come back and cause all this trouble with the Authority for no reason.

There's already a built-in angle, so use it. Draws up more more sincerity of an actual hatred they can build on for a couple months on the Road to WrestleMania.
