It's The Beatles. Not the beetles. And they are what made music. If it wasn't for The Beatles music would not have taken it's biggest step in history. They inspired so many great bands and without them so many greats would not be around. 2pac is an embodiment of rap, perhaps, but The Beatles are the embodiment of music. They had 27 number one singles. 27. More than any other artist ever. They covered so many genres, country, rock, acid, whatever. They were so incredible that women would actually faint in their concerts, just from the excitement. They were The British Invasion. The Beatles are immortal through their music.

I'm picking 2Pac not only cause he is my favorite rapper of all time but cause he was one of the main guys in the west coast/east coast rivalry but he also helped make rap popular.

I can't stand The Beatles, so, if I were picking purely on taste, I would go with 2-Pac. But, I don't think there has been a band that has been as influential as The Beatles. Thus, I have to go with them (ugh...reason really pisses me off sometimes).

2pac

He and Biggie truly revolutionized rap/Hip-hop int the top genre it is today. You see Tupac Shakur was almost born in prison had no daddy lived in a poor house with a crack infested mom who payed a important part in the black panthers. Shakur had a mixed childhood with racial prejudices and more. Now Shakur started Rapping in the 1990s as a Rodie for the underground he at that time was like a early TI of rap. The moment that made him a legend was in that fateful year of 94. After making the album Thug Life 2pac was best friends with up and coming rapper Biggie Smalls. On November 30 1994 2pac was shot 4 times at a Brooklyn recording studio. He said Big did it. After Bigs track Who Shot Ya? was released the feud began East-West Bloods vs. Crips everything started but most importantly Pac had real lyrics. Every time he got on the track it had meaning he was betrayed fake ass fools was gunning him down Pac imo is the best poet musician ever because his lyrics spoke a story of betrayal revenge and life

and yet the Beatles have some of the highest album sales in history. They have sold millions and millions of albums after they were broken up. Tupac wont be able to say that. No one influenced music as much as the Beatles, and its funny that 30+ years later stations still play there music. By 1972 they already sold 545 million albums. Thats great, too this date it is said that they have sold over 1 billion albums or units...

I'll choose Tupac.

When Lennon got shot, he was done. But Tupac? Tupac's come back to life countless times.

I'll pick an immortal musician over a mortal one any day.

Giving the history of Tupac hardly shows how amazing he is. The Beatles had a long history as well, but this is about the music and the influence, not how many times they were shot (For the record, Lennon was shot four times and Harrison stabbed many more). You know the 60s scene, the summer of love, all that? That was The Beatles. Lyrical structure and poetry? Listen to songs like In My Life, Something, Let It Be. Considered some of the most beautiful songs of all time. And that's just the start. They had everything. They revolutionized music.

Jane you know the 90's Gangster thug life West vs. East Bloods vs. Crips Black Struggle Fuck the police.

Yeah thats Pac. He revolutionized music, Thugs, Black life, and more.

he didn't revolutionize shit. He is the most overrated rapper of all time. The Beatles on the other hand revolutionized a genre for the better. Millions of records that influenced countries. Did Tupac ever do that? I have never seen a rapper become a world wide phenomenon. The Beatles did...

But did Lennon or Harrison manage to resurrect themselves?

Frankly, this should be Tupac vs Jesus, with Elvis as special guest referee.

Tupac was only big in rapping. He didn't do shit. The only reason he was popular was because he got shot. If he hadn't gotten shot and had still been around today, nobody would know him.

Hit em up- Expressed his anger at BIG by calling him out on this track a lot of anger and emotion

All eyez on me- The BEST RAP SONG OF ALL TIME explains him overcoming the haters. This song has so much emotion it makes me cry and go through all the hate.

Hail Mary- This is his after life song. It shows the Legacy of pac ending

Against All Odds- One more feud song just deeper than Hit Em Up

Breathing- My theme song quite a nice jingle lol. I will explain more once I find the vid.

California love- State pride WEST SIDE lived on with this song. His most famous one at that.

Look up any rock band since 1970. I guarantee they list The Beatles as their influence. The Beatles made music what it was. Not only that they were incredible, whether it was the meaning behind the song, the lyrics, the music, the beat whatever. They were just incredible.

and what are you trying to prove?

Last one isn't a music video. They just played on top of Apple headquarters till they got kicked out.

What does that prove? Lots of shit people have music videos.

Just to name a few:

Paris Hilton, Brooke Hogan, New Radicals, The Veronicas. I could keep listing, but I won't, cause it would take too long.

My vote goes to the Fab Four. Sure, none of them have "resurrected", but then again, neither did Shakur. Tupac didn't amount to anything while he was alive, and he hasn't fared terribly well post-mortem. He's in a rare breed of people who became "icons" after he got his. The Beatles on the other hand, have continued to inspire bands, and entire genres. They've continued outselling other truly great bands. The Lads from Liverpool are true ICONS, not glorified thugs. I will now step away from the pulpit, and invite you to a rebuttal.

Had to add. Love this song. It may have inspired tons of murders, but Manson was insane. So don't say it.

Are you fucking kidding me? You don't think The Beatles had meaning? Listen to their songs. 2pac made hip hop what it is today, perhaps. The Beatles made rock what it is today. Hell, they really made music what it is today. You can not say 2pac had a bigger influence then The Beatles.
