Deadman, as usual you're missing the point.

No one is saying Tupac wasn't influential because he certainly was. he's likely the most influential rapper of all time.

The Beatles however blow him and every other musician of all time away. They changed American culture, not just hip hop culture.

the point is that Deadman is thinking inside his own cultural ideas and not actually thinking at the industry as a whole, you need to think about the whole picture like KB says you need to understand everything from sales to influence to the industry as a whole before you can even make a case, The Beetles have more influence over the industry then any artist because they've been a big part of it and still are, Paul Mcartney is a nice guy too but it doesnt make him great, what he has accomplished as a musician does, his legacy is cemented because he was a big part of this group and still makes music till this day, he sells tours, puts bums on seats

Ok Im gonna break this down for you

Tupac Album Sales 16 Million +

Beetles Album Sales 172 Million +

Credit Soundscan.com and Wikipedia.org

The sales records alone shows that The Beatles still thrive and that Tupace Shakures sales dont match

Abulm sales show nothing.

This in just 06 should show he still thrives

Yeah sorry for the mistake Tupac didn't sell more albums but he did accomplish a lot in a short period of time. The Beatles we're complete assholes until Elvis set them straight. I still think Tupac did more as his songs later in his career had a lot more meaning than 99% of the songs the Beatles made. I really like the Beatles but i still choose Tupac, even though I'm more of a Red Hot Chilli Peppers kinda guy :guitar:

Whoa whoa whoa. Album sales mean nothing? What in the hell does then?

People put out records for people to buy. People buying them signifies that the music is popular. The Beatles selling records show that they have influence on the people that buy the records lives. Instead of using their money on something else, the people buying them chose to buy the music. They do this because the Beatles and their music have influenced them.

And this right here is more than Deadman has said all night. I don't agree with it, but the way you defend it makes sense. Learn from this guy deadie.

Like what dont you understand? The Beatles first made a record in 1963, by 1972 they already sold 545 million units. That is albums, and singles. They reached 1 billion units. That is feat in its own. Them and Elvis are the only two to ever do that. Pac was influential, but he isn't even the biggest rap star.

Exactly the majority shows that Pac hasnt even sold as Much as the beetles and the fact that today they still sell even though the economy is the way it is shows you how much the beetles mean, Pac hasnt even sold more then Eminem that shows you how much he means to people and to Hip Hop

I am picking Tupac. I don't know much about the Beetles, other than that they sold billions of records. I think Tupac, you know what I can't really express why I pick Pac, it is hard. He was so amazing. He represented many Americans, anyone could listen to him. People changed the way the acted and look to follow him. He was great.
