2016 NBA Finals

It seems weird to shit on Curry when the Warriors were blown out by 30. Unless Curry turns into Wilt Chamberlain and racks up 100 points there is no way Golden State was winning last night. They got dominated up and down the court, some times that's the way the ball bounces. In games 1 and 2 he may not have been scoring 30 but as soon as he found out that Cleveland was double and triple teaming him all game he did the smartest thing he could've done, get out of the way, bring half of Cleveland's players with him and leave the rest of his team wide open. Curry and Thompson weren't the ones pouring it on in Games 1 and 2 but it didn't stop GS from kicking the shit out of Cleveland after all. At the end of the day I didn't see Cleveland stop Golden State, all they did was defer the scoring from 1 player to another.

I've seen this Warriors team get blown out 2 games in a row by OKC (a team I feel would've beat Cleveland in the finals if they could close the deal) and I've seen them get blown out by the freaking LA Lakers earlier in the season. Yeah last night was a bad night for them but I don't doubt for 1 second they will bounce back, whether its game 4 or 5 remains to be seen but they will bounce back.

You guys need to actually listen to the criticism of Curry right now and stop trying to interpret what people are saying and actually listen to what they're saying. Every analyst that I've heard criticize Curry since last night is critical of him not because the Warriors lost or because he didn't score enough. They're critical of him because he looked disinterested and like he didn't even want to play. So much so that even at one point Kerr took him out and asked if he was ok. Thompson had a bad game too, but people aren't criticizing him as much because even though he wasn't great he was invested in the game. Curry didn't seem to invested last night. Almost like how JR Smith looked in the first two games. Idk if the Cavs physicality is what took Curry's head out of the game or what but he definitely seemed like he was focused on something else last night. Which is actually bad for the Cavs, because if Curry wakes up and brings it full force in game four, they might be in some trouble. Especially if Golden States bench continues to dominate Cleveland's bench. That's why Love has to come off the bench.

Guys if Lebron scores 2 points in a half, he would be criticized to no end.

Steph Curry does it, and everyone gives him a pass.

Does anyone see a problem with this?

Sure Curry and Lebron are easily the two best players in the NBA. I realize it is just three games, but Curry has been awful. He MUST perform better.

So 2 points? Not 5, not 6 and not 7? Are you sure it would be a wise Decision for him to only score that many?

In case you didn't get that, the point is LeBron has acted like a big shot for years (well deserved) and yeah, he's treated differently. He's also been known to choke in the Finals while Curry has one title in one appearance.

Yeah, there are different standards and it's pretty easy to see why.

I'm sure people would be wondering what the hell is wrong. And it would definitely turn out justified (the poorer play, not the criticism) if they later found out James was playing injured, dumbass.

What if Lebron scored 2 points in a half and was -24 for the game? Everyone in the media would criticize the hell out of him. Curry does it, and everyone gives him a pass. That is not right. Curry has got to do better for the Warriors to win this series.

You refuse to criticize Curry. It's cute, really.

And Lebron chokes in the Finals? Yeah, last year he scored 44, 39, 40, 15, 40, and 32. One bad game, but he averaged 35. Year before he went 25, 35, 22, 28, and 31. Sounds like he's doing pretty good.

In the end - Steph Curry is the back-to-back MVP. He is the leader, the captain, of the 73-win Warriors. Curry is this. Curry is that. Everyone loves Curry. Curry has to do better than 2 points in the first half.

I refuse to criticize one of the best players in the league who led his team to an NBA record for wins for having a bad game.

LeBron has indeed scored a lot of points in the Finals. How many of those did he, ahem, win?

Okay I can understand that, but most people would criticize Lebron if he did. That was the point.

2 out of 6. Choking means you're not doing your part. He has.

By playing a style which has clearly not worked. It's the same formula that UK used to use to beat LSU back in the Pete Maravich era. No one could shut Maravich down so UK would shut down everyone else and win handily every time. Same idea with LeBron: yeah he'll score a lot and it results in losing the series.

Curry not scoring doesn't mean the team is going to lose. In the two wins, he combined to score 29 points. Curry not scoring a lot worked just fine in the first two games. Why mess with a formula that is 2-0?

So everyone agrees that Kevin Love is not worth the amount of money he's making?

Surely this is confirmed at this point.

Steve Kerr is my all time favorite player so I was really happy to see him win as a coach last year. It didn't even bother me to see the Warriors break the Bulls record and I've been a Bulls fan since I was little.

Shaun Livingston is from a town about 20-25 minutes from me and he's around my age so in high school I constantly saw him on the news and in the paper. I was super happy for him winning the title last year.

If Golden State wins again this year which it seems like they will then I'll be just as happy for those guys.

So it looks like Green is out tomorrow on a suspension. Not that I'm blind to what happened last series but given LeBron was the instigator on Friday this is obviously an attempt by the league to prolong the series and give Cleveland a shot.

Hahaha it makes 0 sense doesn't it. Draymond did stuff all. I told my mates that draymond wouldn't of been suspended in game 4 in an attempt to prolong series against the Thunder. I was right but OKC still won the game. I said to my friends yesterday I bet Draymond gets suspended for game 5 and bam. It's just so obvious some times. I still think Cavs would've taken game 5 anyways but with Draymond out its almost guaranteed.

Oh come on, I don't like Draymond Green at all but that was definitely not a flagrant. Only reason it was a damn flagrant was because the NBA is on it's knees for Lebron James. Refs need to put the whistles down, that's the what, like 20th flagrant this playoffs? Do the refs even know the difference between a flagrant and a hard foul anymore? Lebron NEEDS to stop crying like a little baby after every rough play, I mean you'd think the guy was a 5'8 170 by the way he cries about every little thing. MAN UP.

The reason I find the NBA Playoffs so unwatchable, other than the glorious reasons listed above, is because the league doesn't even try to hide their bias. It's literally right there for everybody to see, and it's fucking bullshit. Something needs to change in basketball, specifically Adam Silver.

With Green being suspended that's probably enough for them not to give him the Finals MVP. Especially if he's not there on the court/in the arena to celebrate with his team. Even though he's not played well overall I can see Curry getting the nod if they win game 5 and he drops 30.

I see iggy getting the finals MVP again. Has played solid every single game, been the best defensively by a wide margin and is hitting timely shots. If curry gets another 30 then I see him getting it but I think Iggy is leading the race att the moment.

I think it's funny people think this has to do with direct bias in James' favor. It's about money. Plain and simple. James is on the verge of damn near getting swept out of the finals again and a quick series means less cash for the NBA. Even with Green out, it's no guarantee the Cavs win.

I never said it had anything to do with bias in James' favor. Well, I did, but I didn't mean it in the sense that they want him to win or anything. They just always want him in the Finals because he draws eyes. What I meant specifically was the NBA is biased, period. You're whole shtick on money just proved my point. In most games, it's pretty obvious who's being favored by the refs, and when there's a decision to be made, it's obvious which way the league is going to decide. Instead of letting the teams play the game, the league decides who they want in the Finals in order to maximize their profits. They even try to dictate how long the damn series goes by pulling bush-league shit like suspending Draymond Green for nothing.

It's all politics, and when it comes to a game like basketball, it's very easy for the refs to sway a game one way or another. That's why people get sick of watching the NBA Playoffs.

I don't disagree with any of this. Though I will add to that last part. I think another reason people get sick of the NBA playoffs is because they take forever.

If I see Harrison Barnes jack up another wide open 3 and brick it miserably, it'll be too soon.

And this guy is supposedly worth a max contract next year? Pathetic. He's watching himself just piss that money away tonight.

It was like they couldn't cut the lead once they had it down to 7. If just one of them could have hit a 3 it would've been interesting. I was stunned once they had it to 6 but that period where the lead was stuck at 7 really was frustrating considering all the wide open shots Golden State had.

At least Cavs fans will get a chance to see the trophy after game 6.
