2014 NHL Playoffs LD

I know how dangerous the Hawks can be. If nothing else I'm a realist. These teams are evenly matched, IMO.

Relax, Kings thrive in elimination games, they're 6-0 in elimination games so far this post-season.

It's games and series like these the reason I stopped betting on sports in high school.

I know the LA are great in situations like these. But they looked gassed last night. They can't play the want Chicago does. They need to try to dictate the flow of the game.

This fool Quick needs to get his mind right. C'mon man. The offense and defense is doing their job. Do yours.

Even though I'm upset that the Hawks lost there's no shame in that loss.
It was an exciting series and the Kings were just better in the end.

I've heard a few sports shows say the Stanley Cup final was LAK/CHI. Jesus man, that's all I need is a jinx. If Lundqvist is by far the best goalie, how is it supposed to be that cut and dry? I'm happy about last night, but come Wednesday the nervousness will set in once again.

This series is gonna be awesome. Although it's LA vs. NYR in my eyes its Quick vs. Lundqvist, 2 of the very best in the NHL. The only question now is which one is better?

Lundqvist. And that's not the homer in me talking.

Aside from his face plant performance in Game 5 against Montreal, Henrik Lundqvist (2.03 GAA, .928 SP) has been the best goalie in the playoffs, far better than Jonathan Quick (2.86 GAA, .906 SP), who’s playing like he’s had one too many pre-game Red Bulls. This is not the Quick of 2012. Los Angeles beat Chicago in spite of Quick, not because of him, and even then only because Corey Crawford was as porous as a napkin under a waterfall.

All things being equal, then, the tiebreaker goes to the team with the better goaltender. In this series, it’s Lundqvist.

So far in the playoffs I would have to agree with you but Quick is the type of goalie who can turn it on at any time and completely take over. Not saying Lundqvist can't because he certainly can as well and although Lundqvist has been the better goaltender up to this point (and I'm hoping the Rangers can get the job done against the Kings, even if its because they haven't won in 20 years) it doesn't necessarily mean he will outperform Quick in the finals as Quick has it in him to outperform any goaltender in the NHL and in a big game situation Quick is just as good as any goaltender in the NHL.
