2011-12 NHL Playoffs LD

If the Kings pull this out, I doubt there will be rioting going on. I love the Kings, but they haven't really brought out the crazy Laker and Dodger fans to their fanbase yet. Hopefully I'm right. Just wish I can fly back to LA for the parade (if victorious of course).

Why would the team riot when they win?

Not the team dawg. The LA fans. Laker fans have a bad history when it comes to celebrating win they win the championship. Like overturning police cars and setting them on fire. Youtube any of the videos after any of their last five championship wins.

I know. Hell I remember when the Lakers won back in '01, it took me damn near an hour to go get some food from the McD's that 5 mins from my old crib. Traffic on Crenshaw was crazy. But I think Kings fans will be a lot more chill.

The @LAKings are two minutes away from winning the #StanleyCup - the first team to do so on home ice since 2007! #BecauseItsTheCup

More Devils' sulking! More Kings' celebrating!

Well deserved win for the Kings. I'm not ashamed to admit that the better team won. The Kings capitalized on their chances better and didn't make dumb mistakes like the Devils. Oh, and they had the insane goaltending of Conn Smyth winner Jonathan Quick at their disposal at well.

Congratulations Lowdown. I think this will be the first of many for this Kings team. Enjoy the win, go get your picture taken with the cup, and don't riot!

Well not really surprising, but I gotta be honest, I didn't think the penalty to Bernier should've been 5 mins. 2 mins for boarding at most. Scuderi didn't protect himself.

I am so proud of Kings fans for not acting like a bunch of assholes last night

In any case, the atmosphere was light and, according to the LAPD, the crowd was well-behaved. From the LA Times:

Los Angeles police said Kings fans outside Staples Center were generally well-behaved Monday night as officers continued to clear the streets along Figueroa. Late Monday, police said streets in the area had been cleared.

Earlier, the LAPD credited fans with generally being well-behaved.

"The bottom line is this was a really good crowd, and they celebrated as normal adults do," said Los Angeles Police Department Cmdr. Andrew Smith as he stood near a wall of officers in riot gear on Figueroa.
