Zack Ryder: Next US Champ?

I would say so. If not him then who? It seems obvious that they decided not to push A. Ry for whatever reason, they decided to team Swagger up with Ziggler creating a team more than competing for the title. They aren't doing anything what so ever with JoMo and the last thing I want to see is he and Ziggler go at it in another feud. Ryder has been on a bit of a tear the past couple of weeks and I'm starting to like his in ring work. I hope he does win.

I hope that Ryder is the next US Champion. He is growing in popularity and would be one of the best guys to push. Ziggler is ready to move up the card so he needs to drop the title whether that be to Swagger, Riley, or even Morrison. Ryder is a great choice for the next US Champion because it's time he got pushed so they can see what he can do. What's the worst that could happen, he doesn't get draw interest and has a lackluster title reign? It's not like we've never had a lackluster midcard title reign before.... Oh, wait. Yes we have. Several. They have nothing to lose. The angle with Jackman helping Ryder was a boost, I say just give him the title so Ziggler can move up the card. Swagger and a few others are there for Ryder to feud with. I think he'd have a good run with the title due to this being a way for WWE to listen more to who the fans want pushed. They WANT to see him pushed, why not do it?

Yeah I agree. It's weird that the WWE places so much emphasis on the crowd and crowd reaction and then you got a guy who seems to be completely over with the fans and they JUST NOW have started to give him a little push. I just hope that if they put the strap on him, they need to book it in a way that makes the U.S. Championship look like a coveted title. That way, everyone wins. Crowd gets their champion, The "E" gains momentum for the U.S. title.

I was actually hoping for Triple H to make a Triple Threat Unification match on Raw. Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes vs. United States Champion, Dolph Ziggler vs. Internet Champion, Zach Ryder with Iced Z pulling out the ridiculous upset over both legitimate Champions.

With that being said, I would like to see Ryder win the US Title. Then again, John Morrison, Alex Riley, and especially Jack Swagger should have held the Title already.

I can see Ryder becoming the next US champ, but I don't want him to if it doesn't benifit Ziggler in anyway. I want Ziggler in the main event so if he drops the title to Ryder and jumps into the main event I'll be very happy, as I'm a fan of both men (bigger fan of Ziggler though). I think Ryder deserves a title, he's definitely talented enough and he's over enough.

As of right now, if nothing changes, making Ryder the IC champ will likely be the same as giving santino a tag team belt. It satisfies those that are big fans of said individual, and the WWE will be able to milk some comedy out of it for a while. But eventually, once that title reign is over the person will go back into obscurity and possibly not ever be seen again.

That's pretty much what I see happening here if Ryder is given the belt right now.

Ryder's matches are storytelling events... and the internet show has the charm of letting it's viewers 'in on the story/joke'... Honestly, the 'Ask The Heel' segment of it is part of the reason I feel Ziggler is ready for another big push.

Ryder in not a credible threat for the title.

Not Yet.

That's not to say he shouldn't drop in for a title shot to help boost his credibility...

But until Ryder has matches that last more than five minutes and he showcases more than two moves, I really don't see him moving forward. He has no submissions, no durability, no real slams, and no high flying moves... and his aggression at 215 lbs can only get him so far. At least in terms of believability.

Add a couple suplexes and a couple of signatures and THEN he'll be ready for his midcard title reign.

Show that he can stay over as the IC champion and then you put him in MITB FTW.

And that's how you build a star.
