WZCW Discussion Thread

By the way, I don't know if anyone noticed but this thread has surpassed 1 million views!

You're on a board with 200 men on it, and your on a forum where some of them gather for fantasy wrestling. If you can't figure out how women's breast, even mythical women's tits get brought into the conversation, you need a dose of reality lol.

I've sobered up now so I can comprehend this a bit better.

Since he is the topic of discussion... I'll talk a little about Krypto.

To me... the main problem is he does not have the voice of his character. The only person to really compare him to is S.H.I.T. (since they are both playing guys pretending to be other things). S.H.I.T.'s dislogue comes off as a robot. No one reading would mistake that he is Showtime or Matt Tastic or Saboteur. When I read Krypto's RP, aside from the occassional mention of a home planet to save the gimmick, I could've put anyone's name there beside his dialogue and it could've worked. Rather than being a new comer to a strange world, he seems to have already been here for years and already knows enough to get by.

Spot on observation, I've touched on this point before, Krypto could basically be mistaken for just about any other rookie character, for a unique character there is very little actually unique about him. I am glad that it is noticed, but yeah, I am always reading through my RP's searching for ways to make sure that S.H.I.T comes across as a Machine.

I don't think Dynamite has what it takes to main event unless he makes some serious improvements to his writing ability. I also don't think he has to shed the B-Movie connotation to make his way up the card. S.H.I.T. nearly won the WZCW Championship last PPV, and Saboteur was the one to snap Ty Burna's undefeated streak. You can have a weird character and do big things with them.

Conspiracy that I lost

This time last year Jack Skinner was "switching off" my character, now its been in a World Title match, and for example last round when Alhazred returns against S.H.I.T the commentators remark that "he is being thrown in at the deep end." My point is that its well worth sticking to it, eventually Krypto will find what works for him.

To sum up my response here Krypto was never meant to be a character that went on very long, at least not as long as Sabo/Saxton. Without going into any real detail I had planned to reveal Krypto's origins at Redemption had I made it into the Mayhem Scramble but that didn't happen so I had to rethink what I wanted to do, so that's pretty much why I never went into too many specifics on some of the things you say here. I just didn't think I'd be using him as long as I am now. The only reason I came up with the idea for Krypto was because I was sick of doing a serious character in Joe West and after being in a terrible tag team with Darren Bull I just wanted to attempt something that even if people didn't like I'd at least enjoy doing it. Oh and yes, S.H.I.T was a some what inspiration to the Krypto idea. I know to most it doesn't seem like much coming from me but I really enjoy Miko as an RP'r.

It's good to hear that from anybody really.

I'm sober too. Hurray sober!

This is key for any character really. You need to give your character their own voice and really develop their personality. What I've always done was visualize myself as my actual character while I'm writing or coming up with my RP. Put yourself in the role rather then just the writer for the character. If you can really dive deep into your character, you'll be able to write more naturally and your dialogue in the piece will improve as well. Visualizing the writing is easily one of the best ways to improve your writing. See it in your head as it unfolds and write down what you're seeing.

This as well. If you were to look back at my first few RP's, they wouldn't be worth a midcard match nowadays. It takes time and effort to develop your character properly and find a writing style that works for you. Baller was a joke for a long time and he's been in a world title match, hell Falkon started out with a character that got axed for going way the hell overboard and after developing a new better character, eventually won the world title. Also, S.H.I.T. went from being in the worst match of the year last year to being a big name in the fed.

It's good to hear that from anybody really.

It's true though, you've really stepped it up over the past year or so, and how you've come to develop S.H.I.T. is something to be commended. You've taken a simple silly gimmick and you've developed it into something that you can actually feel emotion from a robot. That is really impressive and when reading the boards I'm always looking forward to your RP.
