WWE UK Championship Tournament (Both Days LD)

So far they definitely seem to have found a way of capturing the same type of feel and atmosphere for this that they had with the CWC.

Why are US wrestling companies so insistent on making Andrews come off so corny? At least he doesn't have a fucking skateboard.

I hope TNA is watching and realizing exactly how they're fucking up with their X-Division. Actually built singles programs with Andrews against DJZ, Lee, or Everett could've resulted in some incredible matches.

Nigel & Cole are working surprising well together on commentary.

Seven, Dunne, Wolfgang, & Andrews have all been the stand outs for me, really looking forward to Seven vs. Wolfgang tomorrow.

Fucking A. WWE killed this today. The venue, the crowd, the commentary, and all of the winners came out looking great. That's how you hype up handing out that title tomorrow. Tomorrow's show really feels like a big event.

I thought the matches were all decent enough, with a couple shining brighter than others. Cole and Nigel play well off each other(when Cole isn't talking over Nigel). I look forward to tomorrow. Should be a good event.

Finally got home so I just finished Seven vs Dyer.

Gotta say not a bad way to kick things off. I have high hopes to the rest of it.

I thought some of the matches were better than others and even now you can see who the WWE really fancies as the stars. Now that most of the deadweight is out, the quarter final matches look really good. Wolfgang, I thought, was impressive and looks as though he can work the WWE style better than anyone else. His match against Seven will be the highlight tomorrow. Gradwell versus Dunne will be a real contest too.

Realistically though, you can guess who's going through to the semis already...

Didn't watch live today but definitely will tomorrow. Seven, Wolfgang, Devlin, Dunne, Gradwell, and Andrews in particular had my attention. Gonna go out on a bit of a limb and say Devlin/Andrews in the final.

So can we add mark Andrews to the list of great things iMPACT had and let slip through their fingers?

I'm hoping to god that after this tournament Nigel McGuinness replaces Corey Graves on NXT. Graves is good but getting overexposed by doing both RAW and NXT. Plus he's graduated from NXT so keep him up and put McGuinness on NXT before bringing him up to Smackdown soon.

Watching this now - a sudden flu and an expired Network subscription thwarted me last night - and I'm pretty embarrassed so far. Some very sloppy ringwork and a bunch of generic blokes in black trunks. These guys would not be good enough for Raw. Danny Burch was a standout and he lost to pound shop Finn Balor.

Bring me the Bodyguy.

Maybe I'm being harsh on men who've never been on TV before - it's telling that I've described the one guy who has as the standout - but the best part of this next match is the Jesus chants.

If they'd given Roy Johnson a microphone, he could have stolen the show instead of merely doing very well. But it's a Network Tournament so, you know, no fun allowed. I can't help but feel these guys would be better served if their promo packages didn't all begin with how much they weigh and what bumfuck village they're from. Pete Dunne is the guy to beat, though he needs a better finisher.

To be honest, the wrestling isn't very polished for the most part. There were a lot of times when it seemed as though person A was waiting for what person B wanted to do. Regardless, last night was filled with dudes who didn't really stand a chance. Tonight should be twice as good now that it seems to be the most talented people that remain.

That said, there's a lot of good British talent out there and I'm quite disappointed that the WWE didn't push the boat out to get them on the show.

I've seen so many fantastic UK wrestlers - and Irish people, because Ireland is apparently part of the UK in WWE's canon - and so few of them are in this tournament. World of Sport had a much better line-up, even if they squandered it.
