WWE SummerSlam 8/18/13 LD: The Best, The Beast, and The Beard!

Here's my worry in a nutshell:

Bryan's involvement being nothing more than a springboard to the real story of Vince vs. HHH for control of the company at Wrestlemania, meaning the story is all about the McMahons, again. Look back at 2011 and then the HHH vs. Brock feud. The ideas were interesting but at the end of the day it wound up being a HHH story, not a Punk or Lesnar story, and that's what dragged them down.

Oh I agree completely, if it becomes all about the McMahon's it will be a waste but I still think it will be fine this time around. If it becomes Bryan vs. Orton/HHH I will be all for that but if Bryan and Orton are background players to HHH vs. Vince that will be a true shame.

See that's the thing: it could be two stories. Orton could have just as easily done this with no HHH involvement at all. It very well could work and I hope it does, but I've been bored out of my mind by too many HHH ego trips over the year.

Amen brother! 14 years of this with a few breaks here and there is just too much to handle.

Does anybody think that it's possible for Bryan to springboard from this momentum and potential feud all throughout the year. Then have him go the distance and win the Royal Rumble and go on to finally capture the title at WM? I think the crowd would behind him all throughout the Rumble match.

It could very well top this Summerslam moment. Even if it was somewhat tainted. Could be a huge moment for Daniel Bryan and I for one would be all for it.

Del Rio and Christian put on the number three match and I ended caring a lot more about Sandow and Cody than I expected considering I literally forgot the match was on the show until Sandow's music hit.

Kane/Wyatt was typical and, perhaps, underwhelming. The focus of the show wasn't on the undercard, though; they saved as much time for the main events as they could and for good reason.
