WWE Releases - Keep It All In Here!

Meh, for me this really goes into the who cares file.

DH was a good wrestler from a technical standpoint but he may have been one of the most boring wrestlers and personalities I can ever remember in wrestling. He is wrestled for years and is still nothing more than the British Bulldogs kid.

Kozlov is someone the WWE really has no use for. If it wasn't for Santino Kozlov would have been released a long time ago. Once again, boring as hell to watch and was only entertaining when he danced.

Chris Masters had some memorable moments but for me I only really remember him from his Masterlock challenge and his dancing pecs. He wasn't bad but there is really no need to keep Masters, he has been on the back burner since he came back and since his return hasn't been relevant for one second.

Melina is the only one that is somewhat shocking. She was good in the ring and was a good heel and face. She also did the splits (which was pretty hot I must admit) and was one of the better Divas in the WWE. At the end of the day though, Diva's are a dime a dozen and if she could keep her attitude in check she would probably still have a job. All in all good female wrestler but caused her own headaches and grief.

Chris Masters and DH Smith are both victims of the WWE Creative team.

Chris Masters exhibited great improvement on WWE Superstars, his matches with Curt Hawkins were fast paced, entertaining and he showed that he had learned a lot since his first WWE run. Masters has a very good look, he has more personality than people give him credit, for proof I once again direct you to his Superstars and NXT promos. But it is what it is. Masters was released before and found his way back, he's still very young, mid-twenties I believe and with his look and time, I say give Masters another year or two before he returns or rapidly makes a name for himself in another organization - most probable would be TNA, who'd be a good signing for them.

DH Smith has a good look, J-Hammer put it best, he doesn't look like a steroid using big man, he looks natural and he was very solid in the ring, hes gotten the sharp edge of the stick and what's worse is that when the Hart Dynasty ended I was hoping they'd use him correctly in some manner, but I guess he can move forward with his interests in Mixed Martial Arts.

As for the other two - I really don't care. Kozlov's one moment of true rememberance will be the skit he did in London with Santino. As for Melina, she seems like a nutcase, I hope John Morrison enjoys time on the road not having to worry about her screwing some of the "bigger" guys.

When I look back on successful wrestling eras, something that they all have in common is roster size. Wrestling shows seem to be more popular when they have a handful of talent. It leaves only the biggest stars, makes it easier for the casual fan to be familiar with everyone, and gives them more tv time to built characters. For years I have had casual fans sit down and watch wrestling with me, and they all ask the same question... "Who are all these guys?" They know the big stars and smile when they see them, but seem bored when 90% of the show is filled with a million randem people. You can also tell wheh they see someone new, to them, that they like. For instance, I have never seen a person who saw Kofi Kingston for the first time and didn't like him... There are a lot of people that WWE should release... and, by all means, don't ever bring 30 new people in with one big swoop again... let them come in one by one and blend into the roster... vignettes always help, unless it's some massive monster who will wow the crowd at first sight

Disappointed with the release of Kozlov. I thought he was gold alongside Santino, certainly when he was playing it completely straight. If he's been released purely so Santino can team with Ryder then I have to question weather WWE actually understand Santino as a character anymore.

Gail Kim didn't help herself by looking terrible with each small opportunity WWE gave her. No doubt she'll be back in TNA and people will praise her as some kind of female wrestling saviour. Its over three years since people could mistakenly make that statement.

DH Smith, as bland as his father but without a killer gimmick. Saw him at a few 1PW shows a few years ago and he does have talent, or at least he did.

Chris Masters has been one of the best things about Superstars in recent months. I actually think he would've been worth pushing. WWE push worse in Kofi Kingston & Dolph Ziggler.

Melina, not attractive enough to consider a loss.

EDIT: There's usually a release that's a massive surprise. I'll do an out there guess and say Wade Barrett.

I'm sure they just got tired of Melina. The stuff with Trish and now defending Gail Kim was probably the last straw. Its not like she was some big draw for them. She isn't worth the headache.

Morrison is no Taker, Orton, Cena, Triple H etc etc. I doubt they would even care what his reaction is about his girlfriend being fired.

Kind of surprised with Melina, but Koslov had it coming. I always found Koslov extremely boring, and again, if it wasn't for Santino, Koslov would have been released a good; long while ago. Melina got in some TV time, and she is with Morrison, so that is kind of surprising. I wonder how Morrison reacted to that.

Also, what will Zack Ryder's dad do now?!?!?!?!

Right, let's see. By the way, I'm going to be really original by listing the released talents and then giving my thoughts on them. Who have we got...

Vladimir Kozlov
I enjoyed his stuff with Santino. Kozlov seems to have a natural charisma and sense of humour. Outside of his stuff with the much better Santino, he didn't show much. I hate the fact that WWE pushed him to the moon when he was shit and have now released him when he was somewhat entertaining.

Chris Masters
I like Masters. He does the basics well in the ring and has shown charisma previously. I can't say I get the whole IWC love for him, but he's good at what he does. But still, no big loss.

Gail Kim
I've never understood the love for Gail Kim. From what I've seen of her, she's just a bit average. With a penchant for botching. No doubt she'll go to TNA. And when she's there, I still won't care.

DH Smith
DH SMITH?! Are you telling me that a guy who has not been on television for months has been released?! Yeah. Anyway, I love his ring-work. Everything else is just lacking. Apparently he was interested in MMA. If that's so, best of look to him. He seems like a nice guy.

Melina
One of the more talented Divas. I've always enjoyed her matches to some degree (especially her one with Alicia Fox). According to the dirtsheets, she has an attitude problem or something. Normally I wouldn't believe dirtsheet reports but her release despite being pretty talented all but confirms it. TNA will probably add her to their already stacked Knockouts roster.

None of these releases are big losses. They are all understandable and expected. Moving on...

Melina's been in hot water since WrestleMania, but I didn't think they'd cut her. DH Smith lost his way as soon as the Hart Dynasty broke up. Some wonder why Chris Master was brought back in the first place. Vladimir Kozlov was a bit of a surprise, considering he's been Santino's tag team partner for so long.

As for Gail Kim leaving, I don't blame her. She's considered one of the best women wrestlers in the world, but she was constantly passed over in WWE in favor of bimbos like Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres and the Bella Twins. The only question is where will she go - TNA, Shimmer, indy circuit? With her up coming marriage, it's also possible she might hang it up, but let's hope not.

all of them will be great in tna it a shame to because all of them had bright futures in the wwe remember melina was one of the top divas david hart smith was dead weight when the wwe broke up the hart dynasty kozlov was being misused what the wwe trash is tna gain .

Shame.

Kozlov - The one I am most disappointed by. He was a boring character when not doing stuff with Santino, but as bigger wrestlers in WWE go ... Kozlov is fucking superb in the ring. Not a patch on Taker, but still.

Masters - Another one I am kinda bummed about. He was vastly improved during his second 'tenure'. Pushed when he was green; jobbed out when he was more experienced. A waste. Though, he may have himself to blame given the reason for his firing the first time around.

Hart-Smith - Eh, he wasn't really doing much. Similar to Kozlov, I felt he could go in the ring on a power-type level, but his character didn't have any substance.

Melina and Gail Kim - Well. Two fairly entertaining girls whose attitudes tend to swing every which way; though much less so with Gail. She does bang on about misuse on Twitter though. She's better in the ring than Melina, but that was a bit of a stunt to pull on Monday.

All in all, some decent talent who could be useful had WWE not already got equivalent talent and better.

No great loss on any of the latest "superstars" to be future endeavored (I love that term). And especially nothing lost with Melina getting the axe...on second thought, to paraphrase my favorite hometown asshole (and I mean that as a compliment) Mark Madden, no woman wrestler has ever drawn a dime. Not that I'm not entertained from time to time. I enjoyed Beth Phoenix's recent attack on Kelly Kelly, and every once in a while they'll put on a tolerable match. But the WWE Divas, for the most part, suck. I'm grateful to watch wrestling on my DVR so that I can fast forward through that dreck

I'm sure they just got tired of Melina. The stuff with Trish and now defending Gail Kim was probably the last straw. Its not like she was some big draw for them. She isn't worth the headache.

Morrison is no Taker, Orton, Cena, Triple H etc etc. I doubt they would even care what his reaction is about his girlfriend being fired.

wwe probally has big plans for morrison in the future but they probally want melina out of the picture,i dont think vince or hhh wants to ruin morrisons career because they dont like his girlfriend

Did anybody else find it strange Melina was on the "Diva Focus" earlier today than was later fired? Thought that was ironic. I'll miss her entrance.

Everyone else released doesn't come as a surprise. David Hart Smith hasn't been used since the Hart Dynasty broke up. Chris Masters never made it past Superstars (his face turn killed his character). Kozlov was overrated from the beginning and teaming with Santino was ridiculous. I won't be surprised if there are more releases today and tomorrow. There's more fat to be trimmed.

Officially, iM not really surprised at any of the release as of now. Melina was pretty much a given that she would be release because of her backstage attitude and her Twitter account. David Hart Smith was not surprising since he's been training for MMA for the last couple of months. Chris Masters, what can i say, they really screw up with him because he could have been a monster face that is actually entertaining compare to Big Zeke. Vladimir kozlov was not really a surprise either since they pretty much stop using him as Santino's partner and was in a feud with JTG on NXT. So his release wasn'T that shocking.

I think the releases are not over yet and some of the lower card guys might get cut before the end of the week-end. On a side note, i'm not surprise that Gail Kim quit, she really wasn'T use that much and i'm pretty sure she just wants to stay with her husband for a while.

while im shocked melina is gone at the same time im not shocked she was a bitch to trish stratus thats a huge no no in wwe sense shes easily the most respected woman backstage besides steph and linda (if shes still backstage) but kozlov came as a surprise to me i thought him being teamed up with santino would save his job....but today proved vince doesnt care about the talented divas he wants barbie dolls....melina and gail were 2 of the most talented divas he has and now there gone :disappointed: i hope to see both in impact wrestling down the road

I'm gonna go against the grain in regards to the releases and say that all who where released werent doing anything anyway:

In regards to DH smith he was more the muscle of the Hart dynisty, he didnt do much, yes he was a good independant wrestler but his WWE run has been stagnent at best, since debuting then being suspended than re-debuting on ECW and then being split from Tyson Kidd and being nowhere in site, If Smith wants WWE to re-sign him he needs to train harder and put on the same calibre matches that he was having prior to the WWE signing him beforehand, if not there is always MMA.

Chris Masters was a no brainer here, yes he had a body, yes he was physical but did nothing to earn his spot, he did a few moves and was kinda over, more or less the guy was a lower card talent who hasnt been doing much since redebuting in the WWE the year prior nothing special IMO.

Kozlove had promise to begin with but again was a huge failed project on WWE's part, he had no promo skills, his ring work was sub par and couldnt get himself over until his partnership with santino, he can be added to the long list of wwe monsters that they failed to get over due to a couple of things, bad ring work, bad promo skills due to WWE bringing them up before they are ready.

NOW onto the females, as For gail yes, this surprised me but again it was something that needed to happen, she quit because the company braught her in to perform and they didn't even use her, hell the crappy bellas where being used more, maybe she will go back to TNA and become apart of the resurged Knockouts divison or moreso just leave the business all together, she is getting married to a rather wealthy individual so why would she need the money at all?.

Melina wasn't a surprise at all, here is a girl who was a huge heat magnet, she was literally burying her character on her own, with telling people that her heel turn was fake to the fact that she literally was rubbing people the wrong way backstage does anyone even wonder how the hell she has survived this long?, I don't

that's it for now but i dont see any midcard/uppermidcard talent getting thrown, moreso i believe this will be a lower card spring clean...

The loss of Kozlov is truly no shot to the WWE's stomach. He had no charisma, no mic skills, and he flopped worse than a fish when they tried giving him a main event run for the WWE championship on SmackDown!
As far as Gail Kim, Chris Masters, and DH Smith go, they were all great talents if used the right way. (I guess you could say that about anyone) but these stars had potential. Especially Chris Masters. Bring back the Masterpiece gimmick and he's set. Even Gail Kim was a great wrestler...I mean entertainer...and could have resurrected the women's division. DH Smith was a great tag team wrestler and should have not broken up with Tyson Kidd. They were a great team. Bret Hart's WrestleMania feud saved them though as they were nowhere to be seen as heels and the next thing you know, theyr fan favorites at WrestleMania.
The only thing i'm worried about is Melina's release and how it will affect Morrison. It could either be a great thing as he will not have to cater to her because they are dating and get into another problem with creative like the WrestleMania incident about Trish Stratus taking her spot. However it could be bad because he might say "she goes, I go." and i would not like this at all.

Hmm I was expecting most of these releases bar Melina tbh. Kozlov woulda been fired last year as many people havent pointed out, if Santino hadn't helped his career out, he wasn't doing that much in all honesty.

Chris Masters I haven't seen too much of recently , which I feel is a shame as I feel he was quite talented and re-signing him in all honesty was a waste however I saw it coming

Melina I thought was a talented diva so I never saw here getting released.

I don't know what hell WWE is doing nowadays. They have Drew McCintyre, whom they billed as "The Chosen One", whom they allowed to simply squash poor R-Truth, yet they're doing not a goddamn thing with Drew. They also have Wade Barrett who made a big splash as the leader of the Nexus, yet they're letting him waste away. They suspended Sin Cara whom they made a big splash about, even going as far as to highlight press conferences and shit. Then there's Daniel Bryan whose story line is as weak as crap, despite Bryan's huge following; they even kind of allowed that to fizzle down by booking him like a clown. (At least he won MITB.) That shit with Cena and R-Truth was just a waste of time; where was the shock value? Everyone knew Cena was going to win and he did. What about Tyler Reks? The guy has the look and intensity, but what the hell's going on with him? Even Santino would make a great heel if utilized correctly.

I remember, even before your precious Attitude Era, just about everyone on the roster had a story line; now so few superstars have a decent story line. I don't think WWE is changing with the times i.e., those He-Man ass heels as opposed to having Dragon Ball Z type heels.

I said all of that to say this: there's no telling whose going to get released next. WWE has to let go of the extra weight because of poor management decisions. They contract all of this talent and then book them like crap, yet they blame superstar's failure to draw on the superstars rather than their own incompetence.

Im quite surprised at Masters being released again, I really did think he had an almost permanent place on Superstars.

I fuckin liked the WWE's original CM, When the masterlock was apparently unbreakable years ago he was good im sure hes improved from then so why why why :'(

1.\ Melina not supprised you don't spend time dissing the BF into the drama at the number one show of the year. JoMo should be happy he has a job left.

2.\ Kolzlof well no brainer here nice enough guy im sure but just no where to go.

3.\ DH Smith a little supprising but not at the same time. He will be back, he needs time to develop, get him with someone one that can losen him up some, and teach him some mike skills create a charector that works for him, if they want him to be british bulldog 2 then develop it or let him find his own way.

Melina - About damn time! She actually has talent but she decided to cause so much trouble backstage over the years. I'm actually surprised too considering she's dating JoMo. Well maybe if JoMo and Melina just split he can get a push. I'm not saying I want him to to be honest he's just a spot mokey with decent mat skills.

DH Smith - Not surprised at all. I don't even remember the last time he was in a match. He wants to have an MMA career anyway so I wish him the best.

Vladamir Kozlov - I can honestly say that I didn't see that coming. I didn't even notice he split from Santino. Oh well he was nothing special anyway.

Chris Masters - Damn shame the man didn't get his rumored post Wrestlemania push. He has talent and his gimmick.. Well it WAS great when he was a heel. Well I wish him the best in his future.

Gail Kim(Quit) - I honestly can't give a damn about Gail Kim. I mean with all do respect I'm not gonna miss her one bit. She did the right thing by quitting I think she realized that she should just let the younger divas shine. The place for Kim to go now is TNA. It's full of WWE has beens. Just look at Victoria she's 40 and she still wrestles there.

Kinda suprised by Vlad and Melina. Koztino was pretty over and were a fun little tag team. As others have said, he wasn`t half bad in the ring.and could have probably been a solid midcarder. Weird. Melina was also not half bad in the ring(and she was hot as hell, but that goes without saying) but I guess those backstage problems caught up with her. Let`s hope she goes to TNA and they pair her with Tessmacher, that`ll be one Ass-tastic tag team.

As for the others, not suprised. I could imagine why Gail quit, not being used at all. Many have claimed she`s a great in-ring talent and she was probably angry about KK and The Bellas getting pushed ahead of her and what not. Masters was ok in the ring, but was never the same after his first run in the company, just not used correctly. I kinda forgot DH Smith still existed but I guess he does. Ever since Hart Dynasty split up he`s been off my radar so I could see why he`s gone now.

Probably a couple more still to come. I`m eager to see who they are.

I'm actually upset only for Vlad, Masters & DH Smith.

Melina is a ****e, and Gail Kim.. wait who? exactly

Vlad should of been a solid main event worker, whether or not he was charismatic or not, he had a dominant presents and would of been a good worker for #1 contender matches & Elimination Chamber matches

DH Smith tried to live off his father's legacy and did it wrong. In most cases alot of people feel children need there own gimmick aside from there fathers (Rhodes, Dibiase, Orton, Mcgillicutty ect) In this one case I felt if he played off the British Bulldog gimmick right he would of gotten over nicely but instead they had him play off the Hart gimmick which was long forgotten.

& Masters.. dam shame, he should of been WWE Champion by next year but instead this is the last image WWE will have of Chris Masters

^ sig says it all..

wwe probally has big plans for morrison in the future but they probally want melina out of the picture,i dont think vince or hhh wants to ruin morrisons career because they dont like his girlfriend

morrison has been absent for months and the ratings were fine. if hes on raw its a good thing. if he were to be released tomorrow. wait a week and people would get over it pretty quick.

dont care for masters or kozlov. primo worked the ring better than a lot of wrestlers yet he was released. wwe doesnt care about good in ring performers but they care about marketability. masters and kozlov were no longer marketable. so can really blame wwe for trimming the fat.

melina and kim. i was a bit surprised with both. i understand kim quit but she probably quit because she was unhappy. it should have been wwe's priority to keep her happy and keep her to stay. her eliminating herself from the battle royal because she was told to get eliminated 'as soon as possible' can be considered a huge slap to her face. especially since she had some killer matches in tna where if she were to go shed be a helluva lot more appreciated. melina released. well i want to say that shes been stale for some time now but really. wer just making ourselves feel better if we say wer not disappointed. melina was a solid wrestler and could pull her own weight around. maybe she was released for her behavior but once again wwe should look at the big picture. had this been a tv 14 show where bikini matches, stripteases and lingerie matches still happened the current divas kelly, bellas, layla maryse can hold up the division. but they cant anymore. the only few divas who can wrestle are natalya, beth, eve( to an extent. shes getting way way better. i guess she doesnt have the look so has to learn to make up somehow) tamina. all i can say now is. lord help the divas division. but u know maybe its just a matter of time. maybe theyl resign. heres to hoping
