First instituted at WrestleMania 21, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match has become one of the most prestigious and most anticipated contests in WWE. Now, for the first time ever, the match will be the focal point of WWE’s newest pay-per-view on July 18, 2010.

As first revealed by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, eight SmackDown Superstars will compete for a contract giving the bearer the right to challenge SmackDown’s World Heavyweight Champion at any time, at any place, for up to one year.

The following SmackDown Superstars are scheduled to compete: Former World Champion Big Show, Matt Hardy and Christian, two veterans when it comes to Ladder Matches, high-flying Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, second-generation Superstar Cody Rhodes, ruthless up-and-comers Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler as well as the diabolical Kane.
Considering the outstanding success rate for those who have cashed in the contract in becoming World Champion, the briefcase’s value has driven Superstars to great lengths (and heights) in its pursuit.

And for the first time ever, there will be two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches contested at one pay-per-view, as the Raw roster will also compete in its own eight-man battle for glory.

Watch live on pay-per-view on July 18 at 8 p.m. ET to see who will be the next Superstars to earn the “Mr. Money in the Bank” moniker.

OK lets talk about the SMACK DOWN MIB match

currently we have the following superstars in the match with my opinion on their chances.

BIG SHOW: not really seeing a ladder hold his gerth so unfortunately he is out as a potential winner plus he doesn't need the case he is already a top contender.

KANE: this is one big man I would love to see win the match but his current storyline is going to prevent him from winning.

KOFI KINGSTON: unfortunately just like the MIZ he is a current champion so I don't see him winning it either

CODY RHODES: still to new I don't see him being a top contender for at least a year so that he can get his feet underneath him and maybe start a feud with KOFI and win the IC title after this PPV

CHRISTIAN: if Swagger wins this will setup a great rematch from ECW and will also help to solidify a great wrestler in the main event stage like he deserves great possibility.

MATT HARDY: same as Christian and definitely deserves it with everything his career has been through plus it could give him the shot in the arm to boost his ego into the main event area to match his ability.

as far as the last two spots I feel it will probably be any combination of these superstars; MVP, DREW, PUNK, ZIGGLER, MASTERS, CHAVO.

and I personally hope that it was one of these combination's; CHAVO, MVP: DREW, MVP: DREW, CHAVO.

DREW: this is VINCE'S new protege and I see him in the match maybe even winning at Hardys expense.

MVP: I would love to see him in this match and maybe pull off a victory and then turn heel or stay face either or can work.

CHAVO: HE DESERVES A MAJOR PUSH MORE THEN ANYBODY ELSE SHOULD HAVE HAD REY'S PUSH BACK WHEN HIS UNCLE DIED WOULD HAVE IMPACTED BETTER. won't win though wish he would but he has become the comedy relief on SMACKDOWN.

ZIGGLER: just a spot filler even though they are trying to really push him again.

MASTERS: same as ZIGGLER

PUNK: just to help further the KANE storyline however if he is injured just slide in either GALLOWS or masked SES member to help that storyline but not a winner.

with all of this said my top three choices for a victory in this match are:

CHRISTIAN, MATT HARDY OR DREW MCINTYRE

my pick is CHRISTIAN
;):worship: :z:

MODERATOR'S NOTE

Please discuss the match just as much as speculations about the final 2 participants, and not just one of the things. And remember to give reasons!

you are going to get a warning for spoilers as the show has not aired yet. but that being said without Drew in the match at the moment my favorite has to be Kane.

He has been given a huge push and could very well be headed to a World Championship.

If it isnt him, then my pick would be a returning Drew McIntyre. Nobody else is really qualified.

OK can't be a spoiler warning if all I am doing is guessing at who could fill the last two spots plus with six names listed its any mans guess who if any of them would make it into the match I agree with you on KANE being a favorite however I see SES interfering and costing him the case so if that happens I stand with my three choices

MVP isn't in the match? That's weird as you would have though he'd be a no brainer seeing as he's a top guy on Smackdown. Drew won't be in the match for sure.

I see Matt Hardy or Kane winning this match. There's something aboot Christian as I guess Vince still doesn't think he's worthy enough to be in the top position. I want Matt Hardy to win as I've been waiting for him to go to the top for the longest time. Kane Is almost the same as Hardy, but I think either way he's going to get a WHC reign this year.

Happy mods?

First off, to all speculating whether this is considered a spoiler, it is NOT considered a spoiler, WWE.com has had the 6 out of 8 participants up on their website ever since Monday or Tuesday, therefore not a spoiler.

I think this match could be pretty good, and very back and forth, it certainly has all the talent in the world right now for multiple people to finally grab the brass ring so to say, due to all of the wrestlers basically being mid-card wrestlers with Big Show as an exception.

This match could elevate quite a few guys, elevate pretty much any one of those people in there, I'm excited to see who the final 2 people will be although, I have a feeling we might as well see Vickie Guerrero perhaps getting Ziggler in there, or MVP, but I wouldn't bet anything on it yet.

Completely forgot about MVP. What's amazing is that it would appear (that before the injury and the deportation) MVP might not have made it.

I think McIntyre will be back before long, and I hope MVP makes up the final place - he could be a world champion if you ask me.

Hoping beyond hope that Christian wins this, and I think that most on here will agree with me. Or Kane, but we've been here before haven't we?

I think it comes down to Matt Hardy and Christian as no one else is ready for the main event. While I feel Christian was a better ECW champion and had better feuds as champion I think at this moment Matt Hardy has a more momentum and more potential for a better reign then Christian, at the moment. I would also like to see it more as even though i like christian and Matt, I am more of an MFer than a peep.

I'd love for it to be Matt Hardy, just because he's never tasted that World Championship gold. However, that said, if he does win MITB, he'll be the first one to cash it in and LOSE. I just know in my heart the WWE will not let him have a reign as their top guy. He's slowed a bit as he's aged, but he's still way over with the fans, and I think he deserves 6 - 9 weeks at the very least with the title.

Of course, I'd be all for a Ziggler win at MITB too. He's been screwed over a bunch of times in recent months, so if anyone "deserves" it, it's Mr. Ziggles.

Okay, someone who hasn't won a world title...erm...Christian is my pick..this could be his big break, we say him nearly grab the briefcase at WM so im guessing if all goes well he can win it and then cash it in after Summer Slam...

C'mon Christian!!

MVP and McIntyre will take the final two spots. As for who I think will win it, to me it's down to three guys. Kane, Matt Hardy, and Christian. Why? Kane is on the end of a huge push right now, Matt Hardy has been busting his ass as of late, and Christian is a hard worker who deserves the chance. If I have to choose one it will be... Matt Hardy. He keeps saying that this is his year and I would like to believe him. Give Hardy the briefcase because even if he doesn't end up winning the belt he still gets elevated to another level by this win. Plus, Hardy has been getting the better of Drew McIntyre, VKM's golden boy, so that might be a good sign.

My picks to win is Christian, Matt Hardy, or Kane. Kane has tasted world title gold before but for only 1 day and deserves more than. Christian and Matt Hardy are two deserving people who never held a world title before. All three have paid their dues to the WWE and been loyal to the WWE....well two of them have:p and Money In The Bank could give them a chance to be in the main event.

If, as many have speculated, two from Ziggler, MVP and McIntyre are added to the mix, I truly believe this match will have the distinction of being the first one when the winner unsuccessfully cashes it in. With rumours of Vince wanting to get rid of one of the cases quickly to stop two 'Mr MiTB's running around, I see the winner challenging Rey as early as Summerslam.
Looking down the list of competitors, some are too green (McIntyre, Rhodes), not over enough (Big Show, Kane) or in the unfortunate case of Matt Hardy, suffer from the distinction of being a never-will. So that leaves Kofi and Christian as the two legitimate contenders to win, but weren't this the case at WM 26? Look what happened. I really hope they don't do a 'Swagger' and give it to a young heel who just isn't quite ready yet.
In my eyes, it should go to Christian and allow him to challenge Rey at 'X' PPV in the same vein as RVD in '06.

The two people I want to win are Kofi and Christian. Kofi is one of my favorite wrestlers and he has been improving his ring and promo work like mad. I thought he'd make it when he feuded with Orton, but he lost his momentum. He's regained it since coming to SD and he's never stopped being over with the crowd. I think it could be his time to shine.

Christian is a top mic worker and ring worker as well, and he deserves to make it into the main event. He's good at what he does and he's well-loved. I like him more than Edge, in fact.

As for the mystery spots, I believe they're going to be Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. McIntyre has a chance of winning if that's so, but I REALLY don't want that to happen. I hate Drew McIntyre. Ziggler would be all right, but he isn't ready in my opinion.

Kofi and Christian are the most deserving and the most main-event ready.

my pick is CHRISTIAN to me no one else deserves it MATT did deserve it but i got 4 words for MATT less twitter more cardio. heres the reasons CHRISTIAN deserves it
1. he's the best mic worker on SD!(if not in all of the WWE)
2. he's been loyal to the WWE(yes i know he went to TNA but he had personal issue he needed to deal with and couldnt because of the WWE schedule)
3. he's defaintly has the in-ring skills
4. he can carry that brand(and company if needed) he proved it on ECW as he was the only thing that kept ECW alive the last year.
5. WWE has hinted at CHRISTIAN winning at the last 2 WM as he is the last person up there fixing to unhook it before the the winner comes and knocks him down.
6. this would be a good way to turn him heel cashing it on REY MYSTERIO after a match since REY is the little kiddies hero.
but the only thing thats gonna hurt him is VINNIE MAC not liking him for going to TNA and what other reasons and not thinking hes ME worthy.

who do i think will be the final 2 MR.ZIGGLES because of VICKY he'll tell her he wants in the MITB or he leaving her. MVP because im surprized he not in there already. DREW might if his VISA issues is cleared up but i will be PISSED if he wins.

P.S. JEFF HARDY went to TNA came back to WWE and being IN WWE 3yrs won the WHC. the reason i bring this up is because CHRISTIAN went to TNA came back to WWE held a mid-card title the ECW title(HARDY HELD INTERCONTIENTAL) and hes been here 3yrs so i see a pattern it CHRISTIANS time

My Pick is either Christian, Matt hardy or Kofi Kingston. I know Kofi Wont win it because he's Already holding the IC title, But I would love to see it happen.

Christian and Matt on the other hand are definite possibilities. They Both have been in the WWE for a long time and have never reached True Main-event level, I would love to see both of them become World Champion At least ONCE before they retire, they both deserve it.

I would personally love to see either Matt, Christian or Kofi winning but cant see it happening as the 'E' continue to let us down time and time again

I think its gonna be Mcintyre tho if his permit gets sorted in time yet i dont believe he should win it cos he just aint all that imo

First off, let me give who i want to win the RAW ladder match and who i want to win. I want Ted Dibiase to win it and cash the title shot in VERY late, like maybe until Royal Rumble??? that way WWE can build him as a Super heel, BUT i see Miz winning it and cashing it in after he loses the US title

now to Smackdown. I WANT to see either Christian or Cody Rhodes win it and believe me or not, i THINK one of these two WILL win it. We all want Mysterio to have a short title run. Well if Christian wins the match, i see him using it on Swagger at SummerSlam (or as Piven calls it, SummerFest), BUT if Cody Rhodes wins it (like i wouldnt mind either) i see him cashing it in whenever Rey Mysterio beats someone in a tough match (maybe at SummerSlam too?). I think they would give Cody Rhodes a shot at being World Champion because WWE seems like they are pushing him more now. This "dashing" gimmick is making Cody more hated and we all think Cody can wrestle, the issue is size, but if WWE can get over that, i think Cody can be a good heel World Champion.

okay you make some good points you also open up a huge cross brand storyline to help unhinge Orton even more then his character already is if Dibiase and Rhodes both were to win MIB and then win their respective belts and flaunt it in front of him every week it would push Randy over the edge and have him start assaulting superstars on both brands until he gets a title shot against one of them to take their title.

kofi kingston/ i dont think he will win because he is already a champion
big show/ simply to big to get on the ladder
christian/ hes over with the crowd and has a good chance
matt hardy/ same as christian and he just won a fued with drew so brace yourself
cody rhodes/ i wouldnt mind seein him win but he wont
kane/ with his current storyline i dont see him winning but i wish he would
dolph ziggler/ just no
mvp/ maybe not

I think Luke Gallows will be put in the match. 1. It gives him a try to shine and 2. the straight edge socitey will be in the match. Having cm punk and the rest of the crew at ringside, helping luke out.

And maybe if the World title match is before the money in the bank match and Jack Swagger loses. He will be put into the match. Try to win 2 money in the banks in one year. Just an idea...

Also I think whoever wins either money in the bank match, will go on to a title match and lose. Has to happen sometime.

Wow, this is a much harder match to predict than the RAW one. But it seems everyone else has chosen their 3 picks and I have to agree with most of them, but these are my picks. Matt has a chance due to his loyalty and the massive pops he is recieving as of late. Christian has a chance because well... Christian always has a chance it seems on this forum and of course there is Drew McIntyre who though is in a tough spot with his whole Visa problem but I still believe he will be in this. Somehow I see Matt Hardy about to win and out comes Vinnie Mac who says he has one more participant. Drew comes out and pushed Hardys ladder over and climbs and grabs the briefcase setting up for a Ladder match between Hardy and Drew at Summerfest for the MiTB

I am praying to God either Christian or Matt Hardy win Money in the Bank. If neither of them do, then what was the point of having that badass promo on the Peep Show?

myothersn002, if MITB will result in a loss this time, then I'd like Dolph Ziggler to win the ladder match. If there is anybody that could take a loss, it'd be Dolph. He's lost every opportunity he's had to get championship gold. When he loses we wouldn't mind just because he's a perennial loser. But if Christian or Matt Hardy wins the ladder match, cashes in MITB and loses, well then people would go crazy! The other option would be MVP, mostly because if he loses then he could get really frustrated and attack people leading to his heel turn.

When I read the WZ front page spoilers, I have been waiting since Tuesday to discuss this. And now wwe.com has confirmed what I more or less felt since Tuesday's 6 names were revealed.

There are two spots left open, and roughly 3 individuals not currently involved, 2 of which, that will likely fill these spots. Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler & C.M. Punk.

Now before I get into why I believe it'll strongly be any of those 3.. first I'm gonna do a quick re-cap of the 6 already in.

First, Big Show. Big Show had what seemed to be a big (no pun intended) fear of heights when he was in the TLC match with Jericho, against DX, last December. I highly doubt Show is anything more than a name brand individual filling a spot here. He was the #1 contender roughly two months ago and Swagger's, more or less, only feud. That was, what I believe to be, the extent of his push.

Next you have Kane, who by all rights is more seemingly concerned with figuring out who put his "Brother" out of action than winning anything. My guess is Kane will single someone out, and both will randomly eliminate themselves from this match. With luck, Kane will target Big Show, that way we don't get any half-assed attempts at either climbing a ladder.

Matt Hardy, Christian & Kofi Kingston all stand amazing chances at winning. And yet each of them share a similar situation. They're on the verge of being mid-card greats, trying to take the next step to Main Event-hood. Christian is about the odd's on favorite in this situation for his TNA stand, but because the WWE refuses to acknowledge any of that - he's no better than Matt Hardy.

Speaking of Hardy, he likely rides the biggest wave of momentum into this thing, what with being Teddy Long's best friend as of late. And yet I can't help but to think Hardy will be nothing more than a thorn in someone's side. (Namely one of the final two mystery spots)

Kingston is the current Intercontinental champion, and once upon a time that championship was viewed as a #1 contendership to the Heavyweight title. Those days, of course, are gone. Kingston will be the highest of the high fliers in this match, but likely thats all he'll be good for. A couple "Oh my" moments, followed by a "He's almost got it", only to end with a *splat*.

Now, I'm leaving one individual out - and not without reason. Cody Rhodes. Yeah. I'm almost in belief he was added in the assumption McIntyre wasn't going to be able to return, regarding that whole Visa issue (that seems to have magically been cleared up in a week.) Rhodes is without question the darkest of all dark horses, and the end-all, be-all to :wtf: individuals in a Money in the Bank match. Does that mean he stands no chance of winning? Of course not.. He's the Swagger, in this situation. No one would see it coming, but he has a future with the Company.

Now then.. the final two mystery spots.

Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and C.M. Punk are all my top 3 individuals who are on the outside, looking in. And to be perfectly honest, again, Cody Rhodes seems to have fucked up this situation. Rhodes may have taken McIntyre's spot, which now seems as if one of the 3 better choices - won't get a chance.

Punk, if inserted, would and should rightfully so, be considered the odd's on favorite (similar to Raw's Edge) to win it all. Especially considering he's the true History of MITB, winning everyone he's been in. (2) If Punk is in, I don't see him winning, however.. and thats because I believe its finally time.. for what Wrestlemania really was suppose to be all about, for MITB...

Drew McIntyre! Thats right, the Chosen One will finally grab that brass ring, he'll finally receive the push that was rightfully his at Mania - and taken away due to a bad attitude. Of course, all of this is resting on the assumption he's even placed in this match, and not still "storylined" out of action without a Visa.

If McIntyre is in.. he's the winner. I strongly believe this, more than anything.

Last night hyped the match incredibly well, I loved the segment between Christian and Matt Hardy, and I think the inclusion of those two being ladder veterans as well as Money in the Bank veterans, that it could prove to be one hell of a match.

I'm torn on who I think could win this one right now especially due to Smackdown last night, they all seemed to have some kind of momentum going on for the match, and anybody could come out the winner, because anybody in this match is in a position to achieve some kind of push.

This match is probably gonna be the better one of the two Money in the Bank matches, perhaps even match of the night.

McIntyre might be in it, but not as a wrestler on the card. He will probably fight his way into the match through the crowd and attack a few wrestlers, but I don't think he'll win it. Punk cannot be in the match as he injured his arm in the match against Kane last Friday and is out for a couple of months. I hope your right when you say Dolph is in it. He could really shine in that sort of match and made a big impact, starting a feud with someone or providing highlights. Luke Gallows might have to replace Punk in this match, and he won't do much, just another Kane inserted in the match.
I am praying to god that either Christian or Matt win this. This deserve the World title more than any other wrestler in the WWE. If neither or them win it I will be disappointed, no matter who wins.
