WWE DVD's You Would Like To See Created.

KitsuneDreamer

Honorbound Wrestling Co-Owner
I have asked many people in my circles what they thought or wanted in a WWE DVD. They either don't care enough to have an opinion, or are content with what's already been released.

So I figured this topic would be better brought up with more, experienced fans.

These are ones personally I'd like to see.

1. The Story of Shotgun Saturday Night

This came on near the end of the 90's and I didn't get to see everything, plus
I was only like 9 or 10 at the time and don't remember much. They used a slightly smaller ring, and had themes that were not used or associated with the other programs. 10 matches and a small documentary would be great.

2. Bronco Buster: The Life of Sean Waltman

I would like to see an in-depth commentary on him through his days as The Lightning Kid, rise as the 1-2-3 Kid, going to WCW, cementing his legacy as a member of DX, his fall, and now current day happenings, and signing a legends contract.

I think it would be a fascinating look into the mind of one of the more notorious personalities to come from the world of Professional Wrestling.

Personal and detailed stories from Sean and the wrestlers who knew him, and a best of matches would suffice.

3. Anomalies: The Strange Characters of Sports Entertainment

Totally dedicated to the weird and wacky personas to ever grace a ring.

The Taskmaster, The Yeti, The Gobbledy Gooker, Oz, Arachnaman, Xanta Klaus, Amish Roadkill, Berserker, Phantasio, and More!

Small clips here and comments from the various owners of said gimmick as well as others in the industry would be great. Why were they created? Were they meant to be a long standing character? Who came up with the idea? Laughs Galore!

It would be an enjoyable experience for sure.

I would like to know what you guys think, and would like to see what you want made. Cheers!

Best of the Cruiserweights would be high on my list

WWE Backstage... a glimpse of the politics, who's tight with who, just the general backstage feeling

Curt Hennig story ... Not sure if it has been done or not, if it has my bad. Seeing Hennigs best matches would be phenomenal

The Rise, Fall and Rise again:The Scott Hall Story

Diesel Power: The Kevin Nash Story

The best of the Cruiserweights

Diesel Power, Awesome name, and I think would be great, especially his candid thoughts on his WWF Title reign.

Best of the Cruiserweights would be an amazing DVD set, should have been done already.

And Scott Hall needs to be done as well, nice selections!

I would like to see one on gimmicks that failed but I don't want to hear Vince or Hunter talk about it, I want them to talk to the wrestlers and have them say why they thought it failed and what should have been done differently. WWE had a habit of cleaning up their history so it looks like they did nothing wrong and I would like to hear about what they told the talent and then what happened.

Interesting thread. I'd like quite many DVDs created. But I think the WWE will only create DVDs they know are going to sell, hence the countless Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, etc. DVDs, and those of its most successful and storied performers, including Chris Jericho, Edge, CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Batista. It's doubtful one would ever have an R-truth DVD, or a Val Venis DVD. Here's what I want to see:-

The life and death of Chris Kanyon.

Raven: The life and career of a poet, madman and pro wrestler.

WWF Attitude Era:The most blasphemous and profane segments/catchphrases in history. (This would include stuff like Mr. Mcmahon kiss my Ass, Mark Henry giving birth to a hand, and so on)

WWE-The most hilarious segments. This could include anything from Rock and Austin, to those Kurt Angle segments, and so on.

I wouldn't mind seeing an anthology series on Hall of Famers

something like Best of the Hall of Fame: 2004-2008

Ten matches from members of those classes and then another volume until you cover all the classes

I would also like to see a before they were stars documentary... Footage from Global of Lightning kid and The Handsome Stranger, footage from developmental of The Prototype, etc...

I would also love to see a old FCW make its way to the network

The life and death of Chris Kanyon.

Raven: The life and career of a poet, madman and pro wrestler.

Two great ideas. Chris Kanyon (RIP) was always an intriguing wrestler to me. I always liked him and enjoyed his work, then when he came out I was stunned. I will always admire guys like him Orlando Jordan, Pat Patterson and Darren Young for being able to be strong enough in their sexuality to come out to their peers and (hopefully) be respected for it.

Along the lines of the Kanyon I think a dvd on openly gay wrestlers could be a good idea.

Raven was always my favorite wrestler of the 90s. Unpredictable as hell, great inring work , solid on the mic, and just a smart guy. I would buy this.

May I also suggest a Forgotten Stables dvd featuring the likes of Ravens Flock, The Oddities, Los Boriquas, Unamericans, Filthy Animals etc

You hit the nail on the head when you said they only make what they think will sell, but I would like to think with the launch of the WWE Network, all these past shows, superstars, etc are being put back into the wrestling fans' conscious mind and they might try to capitalize on it. Hell, maybe take some ideas from a thread like this.

BTW, That Raven DVD would be great man, there is so much I want to relive about him, and I think the people that don't would be taken for a ride.

That is a great concept, potentially a great money maker. This would give a lot of insight to those who don't really know who's being/been inducted. Plus give us some footage of some that aren't widely commercially available.

I for one would be thrilled to have this in my collection.

BOOKER T!!!And quite frankly, I'm surprised there hasn't been one yet! They put out a John Morrison DVD a few years back...What legendary career has he put together? Booker T has an interesting story to tell outside of the ring and one hell of a career inside the ropes. It's a shame he never had a DVD and most guys are on their 2nd and 3rd now...

Because, unlike the WWE, the wrestlers themselves have no reason to lie and make it look like they did nothing wrong? Riiight...

I like this one. A collection of the funniest segments ever would be great. Or that could be a weekly show on The Network.

They need to do a Jerry Lawler DVD, so people can see there was a time when he was a great in ring performer and not just a bumbling, joke spewing commentator.

I like the Forgotten stables idea. It could also include a segment with CM Punk and SES, even though that one was covered quite well in the CM Punk Best in the world DVD.

Chris Kanyon was more than just a gay wrestler. He suffered from Bipolar Depression, and all he cared about was pro wrestling and there are some interesting articles about his struggles ever since being released from the WWE. He just had a degree in Physical therapy or something and couldn't quite re-establish himself in that domain and basically was addicted to medication and what not. I'd like for the WWE, or someone independent who could acquire a lot of footage to create that DVD which would show the people the dark side of pro-wrestling and abundant passion in someone like Chris Kanyon too, and not just the same-old glamourous and cheerful world consisting of The Rock, John Cena and Hulk Hogan. IMO, Kanyon deserved more recognition and at least a second chance instead of the obscurity he faced.

Raven is said to be very intelligent outside the ring , and is even a member of Mensa- the high IQ society or something and it always made me wonder how articulate he is, what are his artistic expressions whether it be poetry or whether he can paint or play a musical instrument well. Even though he might not even be the equivalent of Jeff Hardy when it comes to tangible accomplishment in a major wrestling company, he was one of the most fascinating characters to have never been utilized by the WWE IMO. They could at least show us glimpses of his early career, his matches, feuds, and footage from WCW, ECW, may be the independents, until the year 2000. May be his stuff from TNA in 2004 as well.

I can dig that, sucka.

I hope that a Booker T set gets made, it would make for a satisfying experience.
I have his book, and the length he goes into personal detail is astounding.
And I wouldn't expect anything less from his DVD.

There was this bootleg DVD I picked up somewhere and it had older Booker T matches from when he was in the Ebony Experience with his brother and at that time had some heat due to the times they were in, but at the same time they were loved for what they represented. They had some fantastic matches, and more than likely the casual fan hasn't been exposed to it.

True. For now, the only way to explore Raven is to youtube his past footage and rare performances from his early career as well as TNA, Independents ,etc. But I do think it adds gravitas and substance to a DVD when there're a group of minds from the wrestling business commenting on various feuds, incidents and so on, and since people like Hulk Hogan , Pat Patterson, etc. won't be involved in a Raven DVD, it'd still not matter because people around Raven's career, his closest friends and others would, including Paul Heyman, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, etc.

In a similar vein, I was always fascinated by Vampiro but I've only seen 2 short clips of him from his feud with Sting. If he had a 3-4 yr career in the WCW, I won't mind taking a look at his DVD, but I don't think most WWE fans or even ECW fans would know of him, like how everybody ought to know Raven. It seems highly absurd and unlikely to think there would be a panel of intelligent wrestling minds discussing the Vampiro-Sting feud. Not in a Vampiro DVD. Not even a Sting DVD!

@renaissanceman2014 TNA made a DVD on Raven called Nevermore, but it was severely lacking, a new one with THE COMPLETE story needs to be made. I could personally fill a 5 DVD set with promos, encounters, interviews and great matches on him. To have something official and tangible would be fulfilling not only for him but his fans, and new fans alike.

Instant Classic: The Story of Christian

History of the WWE Tag Team Championship

History of the United States Championship

Survivor Series Anthology - They started releasing these and never finished, it's the only one of the Big Four that doesn't have a complete anthology.

Can You Dig It?: The Life and Times of Booker T

Survivor Series Anthology - They started releasing these and never finished, it's the only one of the Big Four that doesn't have a complete anthology.

That is true, which is strange considering the history and how important it is. They released Summerslam in it's entirety (at the time) in a giant cooler looking case, maybe they could do the same with Survivor Series in a gravestone shaped case.

I'd like to see a DVD where JR does a sit-down interview with Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan, similar to the one he did with Bret and Shawn. The relationship between Vince and Hogan has definitely been tumultuous over the years, and I think it would be great to see the two of them talk candidly about one another and look back on their entire history together in the wrestling business: the early days of WrestleMania, their falling out, Hogan testifying against Vince in the trail, animosity that existed during the Monday Night Wars, and Hogan's multiple returns to the WWE.

I'd also like to see a 3-disc DVD set chronicling the entire career of Triple H, from first breaking into the business all the way to becoming one of the most powerful and influential figures in the business. There are so many matches and rivalries to touch on, not to mention all of the controversy that surrounds his career. There's honestly so much to cover, jsut one DVD couldn't do all of it justice.

The top ones I would love to see are:

Simply Ravishing: Rick Rude

The Heenan Family

The Demolition Files

What Almost Was (Dealing with "Creative" decisions, wrestlers not able to fulfill etc)

I would love to see a DVD on the best "stage setups" in WWE/WCW/etc. Along with maybe a day to day of how they go about creating a stage. Maybe for WM30 or something like that.

Another one would be for best debuts/best debut vignettes. Look at the Wyatt Family, they were made STARS before they even set foot in a ring all because of their vignettes: then there's razor, mr perfect, even sean o'haire's "but you already knew that" one.

Another for "best turns" in WWE of people going from heel to face or face to heel.

King Of Harts The Owen hart story
Rick rude documentary similar to perfect n Pillmans
Scott hall and Kevin Nash need there own along with Ted debase DB needs one similar to cm punks in a couple years not now and greatest rivalries 2 with the rock n Austin and MOST IMPORTANTLY THE UNDERTAKER NEEDS ONE WHERE IN THE DOCUMENTARY HE BREAKS OUT OF CHARACTER

The History of the Rock N Wrestling Era
- a documentary covering Cyndi Lauper, Mr.T, Hogan, Piper and others that were responsible for the beginning of the mid 80's boom
- matches and promos to make up a 3 or 4 disc set (including the wrestlemania 1 press conference if the video exists)

I would love too see a Rock vs Austin and an Undertaker vs HBK dvd like the HBK vs Bret one where they sit down and talk about their relationship and matches.
Some other ideas are...

Greatest raw matches of all time

Backstage dvd...maybe it just be a documentary of one ppv backstage. Or something like the WM19 documentary they made.

Great Khali's greatest matches...a 15 match dvd with all of great khalis best matches.
