I don't think so man, I'm fairly certain you don't need to change the setting or anything. The PAL or NTSC region code thing only applies to the actual physical disc itself, not the information stored on the disc. Maybe you aren't using the right kind of blank DVD? Lots of brands are total garbage and some just don't work in some players. Maybe you're using a DVD-R instead of a DVD+R? Or maybe you're using a DVD-RW? I dunno, there's a world of reasons as to why it couldn't work on your player, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with your disc and player and not the actual info itself that you burn onto the disc. 'Cause I've burned a shit ton of PAL ISO's ripped straight off the PAL DVDs onto regular American NTSC blank DVDs and they work like perfect clones of the masters.
