WWE confiscating Zack Ryder signs?

That is just stupid. Why would a company that seems to be desperate to create the stars of tomorrow do something like that? I guess they want the popularity of WWE Superstars to be manufactured by them. I guess nothing is allowed to take on a life of it's own and have a superstar become popular at the demand of the fans.

I can almost understand them confiscating signs promoting TNA wrestlers but HE'S ONE OF THEIR OWN! Is it a thing of them only wanting you to be a fan of a superstar who has merchandise for you to spend your hard earned money on? Is a Zach Ryder fan useless to them because he doesn't have a cool shirt or arm bands for them to buy?

Imagine if they did that to someone like Chris Jericho. He would have never become the star that he is today.

I hope this controversy surrounding Zach Ryder signs being taken away takes on a life of its own and gets him some attention and shows the WWE that there are a bunch of pissed off fans out there.

Having experienced the business WWE does, I hardly need a source, this account might surely be exaggerated or perhaps fabricated however I can tell you from experience WWE will confiscate signs and I think the proof they do that is right there in the pudding when you watch WWE programming today. The expression of freedom with signs is long since a thing of the past these days in WWE because you don't see the same variety of signs nowadays that you did back in the past. But trust me even if this story is not on the level or like I said embellished, it's something WWE would do.

Also to the posters that say you can support WWE confiscating signs that have the names of TNA wrestlers on there, yeah sure it's true that it would be silly of WWE to necessarily allow this, but at the same time it's not doing any harm. It's not doing any god damn harm at all. I just say fuck it, 1st Amendment rights period, I mean it wouldn't make sense to bring a pro-TNA sign to the show but you know what if that's what the person who paid for their ticket wants to do, let them, who really gives a shit? If you're a mark I guess that'd be a reason to give a shit, but if your'e a true wrestling fan, just let it roll off the back, it ain't hurting anyone.

Not to sound like a prick again, but the fans of the current product have been deprived of what it's like to be a true fan, I hate sounding like an old man, but when I grew up watching the product you could practically get away with anything in regards to signs and to be honest that's how it should be as long as nothing is extremely spiteful in nature or could cause a problem then there should be no issue with what you wear at a wrestling event or what type of sign you bring. Again, WWE can keep their high ticket prices and low tolerance for fan expression, but you folks out there justifying WWE's anal retentive nature are not true fans of the artform all you people seem to do is just blindly follow the organization and let Vince and his worker bees convince you of what you like and want instead of convincing them what YOU want.

Wrestling has always had a political side to it, I won't deny that, I'll admit there's been times that certain stars have used their reputation to get their way but the bottom line is that when fans were allowed to be fans the business was better, period. But then again I can't expect much from a company that's ashamed to admit they are a wrestling promotion. Can I?

They are probably taking the signs because he is asking people in online videos to make the signs. Perhaps WWE do not like it that he is trying to appeal to the online community when the casual fans are the largest part of their fanbase. I don't think that the signs should be taken away due to them being proof that Zack has fans who want him to make it further up the card. Hopefully this will all help him get a better push in the end.

WOO WOO WOO was there all last night so any conspiracy theorists are wrong, WWE have confiscated all sorts of signs for varyingly stupid reasons for years now so its nothing new. the thing to think about here is that these guys have done it to get on a youtube show not to show support to Z. im not saying they dont like him but im pretty sure they didnt hold them up a few weeks ago before youtube.

Im slightly worried for Z as hes been taking the piss out of the WWE alot indirectly with sly set ups, i find it all very funny and true but i would be surprised if they liked it. hopefully they see his 1mil views within a few weeks and get him the #### on tv at last

WWE Should make their own signs and sell them at the gates = more money lol

Why do WWE disprove of superstars with creativity? Its stupid hes basicly doing their job
Woo Woo Woo! You know it! < love it :-D

Zack Ryder should be pushed. I do not understand why he is being buried. I thought that the WWE wanted their stars to fight for their spot and show their loyalty. I thought that if you are the type of guy/girl waiting for your push to come you aren't working hard enough. I find this to be very weird.

If anyone sat in on the Draft chat on WWE.com, you'd have seen the level of support that Zack Ryder was getting. Not to mention, he's the only Superstar eligible to draft who joined our chat.

If that's not a guy who just wants some face time to MAKE people believe in him, I don't know what it is.

I'm on the Ryder bandwagon now.

WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!

On Wikipedia under the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards page, someone removed Kaval as Most Underrated in 2010 and put Zack Ryder.

Gotta love Wikipedia.

Funny how support has really grown for him. It will be interesting if more signs are seen in the crowd and WWE actually uses him more.

This is like the whole Scotty 2 Hotty sorta phase to be honest.

Zack Ryder has developed a strong cult following with the fans but WWE do not want some goofy sorta guy as the face of WWE or even in any title contention. I honestly see no problem with this.

Zack Ryder is pretty much a jobber and WWE are fine with where he is at, They have no sights on Ryder with the US Championship or having sufficient airtime on TV. That is just how it is. A Jobber that has developed a following.

So I see no issues with what WWE is doing, Just good business to be honest.

I don't know if any of the signs are getting confiscated (matter of fact I keep seeing quite a few Ryder signs in the crowd), but if they are it's because Ryder artificially inflates the amount of signs that are around, by asking people to make them in his little show. If all the signs in the crowd where there without him pushing for it that would undoubtedly impress the WWE brass, but with his input it's hard to tell how much to read into it.

Furthermore the WWE is probably a little irked that he has taken matters into his own hands. While his doing so may have ultimately helped get his character over (which should be both his and the WWE's goal), it was outside the range of WWE's control freaks. If they indulge and reward Ryder's behavior, they're practically asking for all undercard guys to start their own self-promotion independently from how the WWE wants them to be perceived. That could easily result in creative chaos.

Anyway, I always liked underdogs, and Zack Ryder is the personification of that. I like that he is doing whatever it takes to get noticed or get lost in the shuffle. If there is ever a petition for Ryder to get elevated from his jobber status, I'll sign it.
