WWE 2K16 Thread

I'm nervous about getting excited over the career mode. Since Day of Reckoning (remember that?), I've always been disappointed by career modes that look exciting in previews.

But I cannot fucking wait to get to Wrestlemania 13 in the Stone Cold showcase mode. My favourite match ever.

Meh. They have always said all the same shit about every Carreer mode, ill expect it to be shit as usual.

Plus, you are all aware of my feelings on building up a character with no stats.

Soooooooo.....the DLC for WWE 2K16 has been revealed and Samoa fucking Joe is in there!! This game is looking awesome! The DLC looks brilliant, with some superstars I wasn't expecting, and some really cool showcase matches.

I think it's bullshit that we have to pay for additional content on the game when we've just bought the actual fucking game. I also think its bullshit that the 'Game Mode' is to play out matches where we know whats happened. Now correct me if i'm wrong but is there a career mode like the older SvR games or not?

My Career is basically like NBA 2K's career mode.... If what WWE 2k says is accurate (and I don't actually believe corporate speak), then there wasn't enough time to scan and put the people in the DLC on the disk.

MyPlayer KickStart (PS4™ system and Xbox One Exclusive)

* Players will gain instant access to boost created Superstar ratings and attributes in the game's MyCareer mode;

* MyPlayer KickStart will be available for a suggested price of $9.99.

Is this a one off payment or do I have to keep buying it whenever I start a new career and don't want shit stats at the beginning.

Looks the goods, but after last year (where the game looked the goods) I'm now hesitant. However at least this year we are seeing it and not being told

I'm getting hyped for the game more and more every day. I'm even considering buying it off the playstation store so I can play at midnight. But I'll probably just go to gamestop shortly after I wake up on release day to pick up an actual copy.

Last WWE game I bought was Smackdown vs. Raw 2008, the one with ECW in it. For someone who's never bought a WWE game made by 2K, should I buy it this time around? I'm on Xbox One btw.

May I just ask if it being made by 2k matters?

I'm also yet to buy a WWE2k game (though I did borrow 15 from a friend). I would say that this is a game to buy. Last year was not, but it set the foundations for this one to be at minimum a solid game, if not the best game since the PS3/360 era. Last year did seem like that as well though for a while.

It all really depends what you are looking for in a wrestling game though, the series has shifted to being a total sim. As oppossed to the simulated look of the game with rather arcadey pacing the game had under THQ. I'm sure you could probably tweak it with sliders to suit your needs and wants (I usually do this with Finisher reversals, though I dont think I will need to this year).

The creation suite looks like there is a LOT to be excited about, but, as everyone has said, rightfully so, hopeful skepticism is the way im going here.

The difference with 2K is that it....Isn't the company who made the game the last time he bought one? Obviously?

2K is an extremely reputable sports game brand. Unfortunately, that level of polish hasn't really translated to this game yet. The 30 years of WrestleMania version of the game is the closest we have gotten.

The video game company doesn't matter. I'm just saying that I haven't bought a WWE game since Smackdown vs. Raw 08 :D But it definitely looks way better now compared to previous games, which is the goal at all times for gaming companies.

Well obviously, i was more asking because there are some people who wont play games by a certain company due to previous experiences.

I'm also joining you as a hopeful skeptic, especially after the way 2k promoted the Spike Lee joint crap for NBA compared to what they delivered

Uhhhh....fuckin WHOA

Found some deetz about universe mode.

Dynamic ratings and personality traits that rise and fall based on character performance and rivalries

When editing a show, you can chose what town its in(FUCKING FINALLY) or make it so it home bases out of one town, or series of towns (TERRITORY BABY!!)

Create-A-show can be fully integrated

Any chance you can post a link to where you saw that? Cause that sounds fucking awesome.

I'm guessing that will be a next gen thing because nothing cool happens on last gen anymore. Which is understandable. This is the last game I'm buying on PS3 before I put money back and end up getting a PS4.

Madden 16 and NBA 2K!6 really lack anything cool on PS3 and WWE 2K16 is really going to lack outside of the roster. But the roster is my only reason to buy this year so that's really fine with me.
