I think we all have this type of guys that somehow, someway we just liked them and thought he could succeed 'till the day he was released, asked for his release or left the WWE in some way or form (like dying too) or are currently the lowest of the lowest. I think we could also talk about TNA here, if someone's up for the challenge.

I'll start, I always thought that Alex Riley would be a main eventer after the reactions he had in his feud with The Miz. He still has a good look and he was always OK on the mic, it surprises me to this day he hasn't accomplished anything. From the past, I think that MVP had the charisma to pull of a World Championship Title reign. I remember loving him in his debut.

Sean O'Hare - dude was jacked and had an interesting gimmick. I can't remember how he was in the ring or if he even got a chance to shine. Stupid hair killed his career.

The Highlanders - between the awesomeness of the The Highlander and Braveheart I didn't think these guys could miss.

Giant Gonzalez - I was young, he was huge.

Lashley - just thought he could be Lesnar.

Cody Rhodes - thought he was a future main eventer when I heard him induct his father in to the HoF then I say how skinny his legs were when he wrestled.

Mordecai and the Japanese guy with the crazy tattoos (not Tensai) - no idea what I was thinking

Mike Awesome - I bought in to the last name.

The Tonga Kid - just thought he would be Superfly II.

Maven - thought he would be The Rock II.

One not mentioned? Heath Slater. Yeah sounds crazy, but I thought Slater had it all during the first season of NXT. Going old school, Crush. Was a big fan of Crush growing up and I thought for sure he'd main event.

I agree with the post about Crush and the one about Carlito.
I thought Tatanka would have been more. The guy had an incredible undefeated streak yet never held a title in that time. I thought maybe adding the edge and pairing him with Ted Dibiase would have helped him out but no such luck.
British Bulldog seemed like he was destined to be more as well as Mr. Perfect.
